means it falls under the purview now what you might ask is well what to what would china want with the states and now we can't beat the. inside the chinese government but we can discuss perhaps you know why they might want that i mean for example that data can be used these enormous data sets to try and target advertising to target specific messages that perhaps promotes the chinese government there also is the possibility that you could scan that data for people who are critical of the chinese government so the concern here is that china would have access to the diverse is a facebook or google which already has access to massive amounts of our data yeah exactly that because you've got a state tax a state tax or that could potentially be a hostile state tax so when you're dealing with the data of overseas citizens this isn't the 1st time the tick-tock has been in the spotlight at least in the last few weeks i believe no i mean we've been talking about the context of us this is a particularly controversial issue that in the u.s. congress back in october asked tick-tock to clarify suggestions that it was somehow
