hunt ok so i mean that's the situation on the ground right now in bavaria how about the country in general. well so far has officials don't think that's taking measures such as wearing a face for example are necessary but they warn that even 15 minutes face to face with someone infected could suffice to contract the virus and now it's quite difficult to differentiate the symptoms of the corner virus to those from those of a regular suv but like i said they were preparing us. for a show that's ongoing even before the chinese breaks and they were reviewed before even the 1st case was detected here in germany and older people who were in the press and infected was the woman who was infected have been isolated we are talking about 40 people who currently operate observation and the man currently staying under observation is not feeling particularly so so far that has authority to say that with no mo hygenic precautions are washing hands

deal of the century u.s. president donald trump is preparing to unveil his plan to end the israel palestinian conflict israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu is in washington for a summit with the president as netanyahu is political challenger benny guns both men have indicated their support for trump's proposals for the details have yet to be released but there's been speculation that it could give israel the go ahead to annex the jordan valley a move that analysts say is sure to fan the conflict with the palestinians who have already rejected the plan before it's been unveiled. jerusalem is one of the oldest cities in the world and one of the most divided it's key to the israeli palestinian conflict with both sides laying claim to the city. palestinians want east jerusalem which is really occupied it as their capital in

any peace agreement. for decades international negotiators let's by the us have tried to find a way to satisfy both sides a viable 2 state solution is the only way this conflict can end and there is not much time to achieve it and there is no other alternative. us president donald trump has also promised to solve the crisis it's not easy i've heard it's one of the toughest deals of all but i have a feeling that we're going to get there eventually i hope. but in the controversial move trump decided his administration would recognize jerusalem as israel's capital and in 2018 moved the u.s. embassy there this infuriated the palestinians the territories allocated to them by

international law are already controlled by israel due to its occupation of the west bank and a total control it excerpts over the borders of the gaza strip. in the member 2019 the trump administration excess are paid at the situation by declaring israeli settlements the president has also stopped giving financial aid to the un agency for palestinian refugees the un r w a it supports 5000000 palestinian refugees across the region. no wonder then that palestinians say they don't have much faith and trumps the latest plan. ending this decades long conflict looks nowhere in sight. you're watching news still to come on the program bringing a writing system back to life we need a nigerian painter who's letting these ancient symbols speak again are you. but 1st it is to lebanon where there has been no letup in the protests despite
4:16 pm
a new government that has been installed to address protesters frustration on monday security forces fired tear gas at demonstrators trying to stop lawmakers from entering parliament where a new budget was approved on top of the political turmoil lebanon has been grappling with a deepening financial crisis w. reporter i.e. travel to the capital beirut where she spoke with young young one young protester excuse me who is fed up with politics as usual. oh you. heard that joe has been protesting on the streets of lebanon since october 17th. for her this is personal. and we've been touring in my home and this is part of the why i remember the stuff between my school and university because i couldn't because it's so expensive this is part of
4:17 pm
the why i remember electricity being a minute being capable of turning on the heating when i was in my family this is where the one. she's not the only one a failing economy white spread unemployment and adequate public services have taken their toll on lebanese from all walks of life. and others blame career politicians for lebanon's problems. some of them has been there ever since i was born 922070 speaking with the name of the people while generations are rising within the thinking within the from consciousness within the indication when i was born i felt that after 2 weeks of demonstrations the prime minister resigned in late october and a new government was formed. but many like perla want more of the. way for things to work today is to actually. move this. more of the political.
4:18 pm
group of improved the through over 4 years lebanon needs to. get out of its experiences then in its politics. getting rid of lebanon sectarian system which protesters say hinders reform and fosters corruption isn't as simple as changing a government. the country has 18 officially recognized religious groups and they all have to somehow participate in government. parliament seats are divided among most of these groups even the 3 highest political offices are allocated based on religion the quota basis jim has roots in lebanon's history and was reinforced following the country's civil war and there are some like lawmakers alone the disagree with protesters and still see a need for the system its need for the needs of course you know all these are
4:19 pm
diversified societies and you need a minimum of safeguards to ensure everyone that they are being able to to get their rights you cannot move from a sectarian government and system to a secular one from a day to another it's a process. i support the process but not to an overnight switch. probably knows that getting to bigger goals will take time but says the social cohesion born out of the movement has brought the country one step closer to change . she's convinced her presence on the streets is necessary for that change to continue. and let's bring in i.e. abraham she filed that report for us she just got back in fact from lebanon she's here in the studio welcome. about your experience and the people especially that you spoke with in beirut what is driving them out onto the streets day after day
4:20 pm
because they are passionate about what they are protesting well this is a this is a protest movement that's been going on since october 17th so it's over 100 days old and you know it's had many ups and downs but i think the underlying drive is that people are just fed up the look around the world $2192020.00 and there's still a lack of basic services when we were there we would experience up to 6 hours a day of electricity cuts health care is. affordable corruption is everywhere the basic services that lebanese people expect to have you know since since the civil war ended in 1009 years still be they're being promised them but they're not they're not getting them at the same time there's a complete lack of trust between the people and the ruling political class which has been there has been there for decades they just don't want to even have a kind of dialogue with them anymore it's looks awful a bit more about the structures that are in place because it has this ethnic and religious political system protesters say that that is blocking reforms currently
4:21 pm
but there was a reason why this was put in place i mean it was supposed to defuse some of those tensions in fact by giving each group representation in the government is there a way to reconcile that and still provide for an environment of inclusion i mean lebanon is really a very unique country in the middle east no other country in the middle east is as diverse as lebanon and no country has in shrines in its political system this inclusion of all religious sects and i think no one i spoke to with have anything to say against inclusion but the criticism is is that you know this kind of engineering of representation has created a cold peace. between the political leaders but has not been you know fostering of development development in the country the politicians have been too busy with their own rivalries to really focus on building the infrastructure of a country and then in the absence of that infrastructure that they have failed to build we see sometimes 11 on these political parties acting as
4:22 pm
a sort of alternative social security system so if you if your child wanted to have a surgery you would in all likelihood go to a political party that your that you support and ask them for money to help to help your child and it's and then you know you support them with what so you know it's reduced the kind of you know the the services that people are supposed to get as a right into a political transaction and people are saying well we're all for inclusion but we also need the system to work i think another thing which is important is that you also have a younger generation that doesn't relate to the reasons why the system exists the system exists because of you know goes all the way back to the ottoman empire french rule and then the civil war and young people don't relate to that and they don't want to be boxed in their religious identity 1st and being the b'nei 2nd they want to be citizens and this system is also not addressing corruption this is also another massive point of the protesters isn't it true i mean
4:23 pm
a huge topic in this protest movement has been accountability lebanon is a country it's a tiny country of 4000000 people has the 3rd highest debt to g.d.p. ratio in the world the banking system when we were there people are you know the banks because of the protests have imposed defacto capital controls on people's withdrawals because you know there are a lot of rumors of the banks are not liquid because of money that they have lent to the government which is bankrupt and is in all of this debt so you know people want accountability and they want transparency and they want to know how how their country is being run and you can definitely see if there's a positive outcome of this protest movement a huge interest in how this country is being run in an effort to hopefully change in the future. thank you. nigeria is a country of more than 500 languages nowadays almost all of them are written in the latin alphabet but it wasn't always that way one system arriving using symbols has
