one of them we have journalist frank smith joining us out of seoul frank how are people feeling about this. well they are certainly worried as more reports from around the world trickle in about the number of people that have been affected infected i should say and certainly here in south korea there's a little bit of you know rest by no new. reports have surfaced of people that have been infected they are monitoring closely 28 people and some 387 people are being kept tabs on under self quarantine a particular worry here is the 3rd and 4th infections were people that had returned to south korea asymptomatic that means that they hadn't shown any symptoms and he sniffling any sore throat and he headaches and a fever when they were turned in so they met people in contact with people without

knowing that they were infected and that can lead to again the contagion spreading quite a bit faster now what is the government doing about this. the government has organized 2 planes to airlift some 700 south koreans that remain in they've also raised the threat level here in south korea from yellow to orange that's 3 levels below the the highest level of concern they've also had some universities cancel some classes as $70000.00 chinese students study here in south korea many of them returned home for the lunar new year they're now returning and again the alerts are going out to university about quarantining some of those teams particularly those that are coming back from. frank what is your sense in terms of how satisfied people are with what the government has been doing. many people here in south korea are

a little bit of at the fee involved amongst the the state and the government in particular and if caved in to a certain element of the release elements inside in particular one particular party . and i don't like they was absolutely no controversy around the release of this are it's true at any point of it would be even the content of this show but once it became something that the religious just groups started protesting against and because they have it consider them on to street i think after that point people just especially the government it gets kinds of a from now why do you think this political party has singled out this film for criticism at this is actually a side plea or regarding element in bias on politics where the religious right has traditionally not had a lot of democratic polity don't win a lot of seats but they have a lot of street bob and it's something that the state if it has an encouraging even

bache and i think the very least condones and you see that happening here again as well that is the threat of them going by land or unleashing right mobs and it is a question for the state to stop its own grit but instead of doing that the kind of keeps backing away and giving feed cheating more and for the for the space to these groups now you mentioned earlier that it's a bit hit or miss in terms of when a political party or group decides to express their unhappiness over something like this in this instance did it come as a surprise to you in terms of the censorship. it is definitely their pride that this film was started to live because of that entire it was a pretty. non-controversial idea as well as the fact that someone who's the director of somebody who's both been awarded by the state his father is of a famous i'm busy he's very much far to the from and industry stopped and so for

that to be singled out was very surprising but the identity of the party isn't so much because this is a way for them to get relevance they say hi to a beautiful body. through butte from the state a few months ago and this is the 1st time that they've been able to find relevance again and so in that sense it's really sad that the arts are usually the target for such groups trying to gain the village to missy and it is up to the state to step in but they haven't i mean nothing thank you very much japan will hold the olympic and paralympic games this summer and the country estimates that about $40000000.00 tourists will visit over the course of the year spending more than $70000000000.00 u.s. dollars the hosts have a lot on their plate to deal with one of the issues is catering to vegetarians and vegans a glowing global trend. japan can be a heaven for foodies but usually for those who eat meat and fish vegetarians and

vegans in japan are complaining that it's just too hard to find a meal that fits their diet. still being vegetarian in japan. i have so vegetarian friends but the majority are not so if we want somewhere together. i have to find a place that has a vegetarian menu. it's not just an opinion held by foreigners much of the japanese cuisine contains meat or fish products and broths and sauces that form the basis for many other dishes are often made with fish. taiki hurry runs a website for people with dietary restrictions he says ignorance is to blame for japan's cullen every shortcomings. the biggest problem is the fact that japanese restaurants and hotels have no understanding of vegetarianism even less of egotism even if they know a little bit about them they can't accommodate their request so many vegetarians

especially vegetarians from abroad have a problem eating in japan. as japan prepares to host the olympics and the huge crowds that come with it politicians have recognized the issue too. and of ember the government launched a parliamentary committee to address the problems that a tarion could face while visiting japan her only. to the strategy of catering a lot of products there are not enough preparations for vegetarians so we need to develop our strategy for public education. and education strategy and a method of labeling japanese fades in a way that makes vegetarian tourists feel safe. whatever changes are made for the olympics vegetarians and vegans here live in japan hoping they'll become permanent and that plant based foods will soon feature more frequently on japanese menus.
