you solve this problem starting here conover oh it's all ridiculous. with more than $100.00 cases reported in italy since friday authorities have their hands full trying to prevent a widespread outbreak. well earlier we spoke to correspondent seem a group in rome and she told us about the impact of these changes are having on everyday life. no well just looking at specifically those 10 saw a towns in the it's week that have been on this lockdown that's the red zone if you like it's affecting some 50000 the so residents and they really are not allowed to leave that area and no one's allowed to enter any one freaking this provision thesis or bristle fine oh yes well there's a rest he said to prison so the authorities are tapping down hard on its

restaurants businesses museums have all been closed and looking at specifically the regions of long but the as well it's been it's along. the highest number of cases up until now it's really is said to have $132.00 inspections but the largest coming from long but they decide to close for the entire region for a week and that includes universities as well and the same goes for the beneteau region syria our 1st division football games have been canceled the bills a particular regions and as you mentioned then until the region which sees 25 infections and this is where venice is located they've made the decision that as of this evening venue accountable activities will be suspended. sima got the reporting for us there in rome well sunday is the 4 of the 70th brylin international film festival and this opening weekend has already been packed full of star power and
7:06 pm
premieres on day 3 the movie's salts of tears and 1st cow made their grand entrances to the competition with the latter already considered a favorite for the top prize the golden bear the stars of those films turned heads on the red carpet on saturday nights and now sunday is the premier of the 1st german movie in the top category director christian petzold film titled. and it's positioned to make it big splash. reporter helen humphrey has the best job in berlin this weekend she's watching the premiers on sunday for us she's standing by on the red carpet helena you saw it's an old twist and all the old tale with a modern twist the berlin twist. absolutely has a bird in twist now this is a very magical film in fact it's rooted in a myth that being deano on dean a european old mate which is about a watch
7:07 pm
a sprite to a spurned by her lover and then seeks revenge but as you mention call it's got that modern day twist in the german director christine petzold said that he wanted to make or indeed a more feminist and not make her a powerless fake i so instead she goes on she finds love once again and now this is very emblematic of the school of film making beautiful scenes of the brutal based on protection here in the german capital as well as much of the water that surrounds but as well as you would expect about a story about a war to this bright and despite that make no mistake this is a story rooted in tragedy it's a high stakes tale of life love and death now the only film premiering today when also you get a chance to see. we're just coming out of the screening of the brazilian film totus tuus mortis all the dead ones and this is such a complex and necessary conversation i think it needs to be had about colonialism
7:08 pm
and slavery around the world now in this story we meet a brazilian family this what is at the end of the 1800s as slavery has just been abolished in the country and they've lost their coffee plantation they're struggling to carry out even every day tasks for themselves without having slaves in there also struggling to interact with people of color in the country and i think it's fair to say that this is a portrait of a country evolving and the fact that it is set at the end of the 1800s of feels very relevant to conversations that are being had today as well now as always at the bear than all the plenty going on inside the theaters but also some news happening outside of the theaters what's what's happening on day 4 of the festival . because you know despite the glitz the glamour of the bad and this film festival always likes to bill itself as inherently political but there's been some questions
7:09 pm
over whether that really is the case notably after comments from the chinese artist and dissident i way way you said that the committee did not show his film his documentary because they were concerned about upsetting sponsors here with strong business ties in china notably audi which is owned by folks fog another says something that the directors have refuted that said many people here say that they won't be boycotting the ballet not it because at that. helena humphrey on the red carpet for us keeping us up to date thank you very much. well polls are now closed in hamburg as voters there are choosing a new state government it's germany's only regional election this year the center left social democrats or s.p.d. are celebrating it's a rare victory for the party after performing poorly in recent elections let's take a look now at the numbers these are the latest exit polls coming in from if we can bring up those results the center left social democrats you see their sets maintain
7:10 pm
power around 37 percent the greens with a big jump up to $25.00 on the americans party the christian democrats are right around 11 the left party is at 9 percent and the far right a.f.d. coming in just under the 5 percent mark the business friendly f.d.p. also right at 5 and you see the other parties there rounding out the rest of the projections. little correspondent kate brady joins me now in studio to help break down those results kate 1st of all just what stands out to you with those numbers of just oh well 1st and foremost of course the. booking the national trend they've managed to hold on to their stronghold of pain in hamburg at the same time of course the greens have come out the big winners they've doubled their amount of votes since the last state election up in hamburg in 2015 the cd you have a map cd you would they've seen
7:11 pm
a record low sinking down to as little as 11.5 percent they've never really had much of a stronghold or strong sense of support in any way but of course the debacle recently just a few weeks ago in the eastern state of 3rd which saw the c.d.u. there cooperate with the f.d.a. certainly won't have helped with these results and of course we also have indeed the far right a f.d.a. who at the moment if these projections prove to be correct they could be out of the state parliament in hamburg which would be a 1st in germany as they finally last year they actually made it into all 16 states let's zoom in 1st of all on the greens i mean they've as you mentioned they're going to have a big game it looks like in homburg what's behind that i mean is this another sign that this green wave is sweeping across germany well this election of in hamburg was dubbed the climate election and hamburg as a city state is extremely climate conscious and of course the effects of climate
7:12 pm
change are very much on the city's doorstep as well it's a poor city and they've been struggling in recent years with several bouts of severe floods and they've really put climate change and climb and action against climate change at the forefront of a lot of policies and we've seen over the past few years the social democrats in the greens have beaten government they're working as quickly as possible to make the city the city state even carbon neutral as well by 2050. and do you have do you mean another another party to look at here in this election on the verge maybe of losing their position in parliament what's behind the lack of success for well if you look back over see the last elections of in hamburg where 5 years ago and that was before the migrant crisis which has been instrumental ised a lot by the f.d.a. in the policies and so they were already doing it around 6 percent the they didn't have many seats in parliament but also when it comes to the issues of can humbug they just the rhetoric that we hear from the far right just doesn't strike
7:13 pm
a chord with hamburgers and so basically a lot of the issues which grievances for voices in eastern parts of germany people who feel that they've been left behind after the fall of the wall and they were unhappy with the polish take some policies and forced by big tent parties in recent years so merkel c.d.u. and the social democrats that's not really felt so much in hamburg and of course as a port city it's always prided itself as well and being this open international gateway to the world and so that kind of open minded international view of itself just doesn't fit as all with the xenophobia conduct of fall right rhetoric that we're hearing from the far right if they are right d w political correspondent kate brady breaking down those numbers in the election thanks very much. in business legal action title hopefuls dortmunder travel to vertebrae and on saturday and they got
