in washington brings us up to date stephan what were the main takeaways from president trump's briefing with his task force. main takeaway but maybe as a side entry into this you know was that the president of course recognized the situation in england and with boris johnson sends his best wishes and also assured that if the u.k. if the government of course johnson needs any help medically actually even help that america is standing by to help and send experts and material and what have you so besides that though it is a. occurrence we have almost every day don't trump handling this task force press conference it's lost the cell phone credits only means that the president does everything all right and is of course telling using this event as a campaign event almost telling. citizens of the united states how well the government

is doing and in all fairness of course the federal government has all of course also the state governors have done a better and better job more supplies to where it's needed to the health care workers at the front lines and still. the president manages to and taken eyes of the press in a south criminal lawyer way and is combative with the press when asked about a government report his own government report of a health and human services inspector general which states that there is not enough protective gear piece so-called p p e at the front but in the hospitals other shortcomings and speaking of the states keeping us up to date on the latest from some of those hot spots like new york city where there is some cautious optimism that the. new infections is being flattened. there actually is new york has a 2nd day off a flattening curve that means there's no in the trajectory through the roof
7:06 am
development anymore meaning not so many cass cases so fast so flattening there and that gives reason for some hope however the governor of new york pointed out that he needs to see at least the same trajectory the same movement in less cases in in the same amount of time for 2 or 3 more days and then he would be comfortable off assessing this as a flattening of the curve that would be great for new york because just today a commissioner in new york city came out and said like new york has maybe do think about burying the victims off. the coronavirus temporarily in city parks because the city is running out of more space as well as refrigerated trucks and that is the situation new york other hot spots chicago detroit new orleans they're all struggling the trajectory there in cases is going up and further up there's no

george pell i'm joined now by. joel don't write joel what did the judges have to say about this decision there was so it was a unanimous decision by the 7 high court judges they found that the original jury which it convicted george pell in 2018 had urged because it had not given enough consideration to witnesses who had spoken in support of george pell and his claims of innocence now the lower courts had ignored court the reasonable possibility that the offending had not taken place the high court overturned the conviction and george pell has since been released from prison he served over 400 days behind bars now this is the culmination of a very long and painful process you take us back to where it all began yes it's been a very long running process over 5 years since allegations were 1st raised against cardinal pell they were brought by 2 men who claimed that they were abused as choir boys in a melbourne cathedral in a 990 s.
