taking in the experts consider that in these areas impact on the number of infection is not going to be caused by further relaxing these areas would not be that great so it was in a sense a sense a signal of hope to the restless population but at the same time an affirmation that few major steps to relax the lock on rules what i need to be taken off and exacts and that this is all the data the interactions of the coronavirus. really seems like something about balancing act that the chancellor and the leaders of germany states have to perform here isn't it. oh absolutely i mean they are under enormous pressure we have to see that this is not only the case in germany of course but here in germany there are millions of people who are arguing any money at the moment who are on short time work all on shore. and there are tens of
2:10 pm
thousands of businesses who are facing ruin and of course that is that restlessness in the population people have been confined to their homes for the last few weeks you specially people with young children i think i'm losing patients so that is a lot of pressure a full record for the relaxation of these rules such that it has to be balanced against the need for health and the population and i'm not just was issued is that taking steps literally taking steps 90 with all of the needs to reimpose restrictions in the end won't get us to the point of an amount of heat that if we. extend it the relaxations and then how to reimpose them again. reporting for us there has got to talk to you with many businesses forced to close as part of coronavirus restrictions small companies are struggling to pay their rent and employees salaries in germany state grants and loans have offered a bit of relief the government of berlin for example has already handed out

a few kilometers away is the trendy princella bag district usually guests will be sitting outside the corner bar but that's now for britain and the bar is closed it's been a disaster for the owners they've put their employees on part time and apply for 15000 euros in emergency aid. to make a profit they'd need to at least double bearing come. to me to rent is going up a lot in recent years because of gentrification so the emergency aid may cover 2 months rent and we can pay our part timers a little but it's just a drop in the bucket. you're all i know that we're hoping the government will give us a clear idea of when it might be possible to open up again it doesn't have to be an exact date now but we'd like them to give us some perspective of the world for good or well until they're finally allowed to open again the 2 of them may using their

their own lives because of a lack of personal protective equipment we looked out the difficulties facing community health workers in india who have suddenly found themselves on the front line for an extra 12 year olds a month. every morning this is how dodging the debris gets ready for work. all she has to protect herself are 2 scarves and a ham washed much as she was it's homes in her neighborhood to check for symptoms it will not. be doing is an accident to social health activist in india also known as an earth. in addition to their means her community her educators actual workers have now they're deployed as the very 1st line of defense in india's fight against school with 90. 2 return assigned area where she conducts sobeys with other workers rajan has to evil visit are funded by areas called red zones where numerous positive pieces of the wires have been detected despite this she has been provided

with only one mosque that she washes and uses every day. most are so workers also cannot afford protective equipment on their own. does governmental know about it government would have it i gather the 1st time when i was made to visit a red zone i had never gloves nor a mask we received just 33 rupees a day the government treats us worse than bonded laborers who figured out our get away from the cop on the. other russia workers have also at times been forced to with a true ski areas without gloves marks and sanitizer. some of them have refused to work as a consequence the indian government has promised insurance cover put each health worker on the front lines of code 19 but that is only if they die in the line of duty. the actual workers are not insured if they fall ill with a coronavirus the delhi government however tells us that they are ensuring
2:19 pm
a regular supply of protective equipment to all the frontline health workers but workers like arjen are not the only ones struggling to reach people without sufficient protective gear this is one of hundreds of community clinics in delhi these primary health centers run by the government have been especially important in providing health care in underserved areas. now they play an important role in the capital in the struggle against the spread of the virus. while the doctors at these clinics are equipped with basic protective gear they do run a risk of contracting cord 19 from in symptomatic areas this doctor wanted his name good head because he feel it professionals at the questions people seem to care 100 percent risk because there may be asymptomatic patients coming to us who've not been tested we too can be asymptomatic carriers we should get tested this. with a number of cases in india still on the rise community health workers like large
2:20 pm
and have a tough task ahead of them if they don't we might also be infected we do want to work but not by putting our lives at stake. dragon passes by this red zone every day to conduct her duties she and many health workers like her are breathing a life and death threat. all right that report from did abuse many to a child 3 and she joins us from delhi now for more on this story how many doubt we saw there the images of frontline workers who are afraid for their own health because they don't have enough protective equipment is this a problem across india. well we are seeing similar reports coming from different parts of the country where what you saw these are community health workers called our show workers now the government guidelines prescribe that what our shoulders need are only a triple lead mask and a pair of gloves but clearly these workers think differently they feel they're
2:21 pm
going from the home checking for symptoms and they're sometimes even me to go in areas where positive cases have been detected so they don't really wonder a bit and as we saw in the report they sometimes even have to put up a fight to get a muscular pair of gloves in the community clinic doctor we spoke to told us that they should also be getting the full kit not b.p. kit had a lot of confidence including the head mosque and a fixture in the show covered in a gown etc so these doctors they strongly feel that they should be provided with that as well so they can examine the patients properly because they don't feel actual risk because there might be many even dramatic gavia which are coming to them for consultation for different reasons and also as and of course have been coming in. demand for full p.p. kits or some basic competence like that sanitizer or gloves or mask the demand far exceeds the supply. if we look at the numbers overall in india you know it's a country of more than a 1000000000 people but the number of infections is relatively low while only 35000
2:22 pm
registered cases why is that is because the countries containment measures have been effective. it's too soon to tell actually if you go by just the number of quarter reported cases it does look like a promising picture if you compare specially with other countries but there are a lot of reports and a lot of medical experts who are saying that they are not doing the number of destin that we should be doing every day especially with respect to the population that india has so unless we really ramp up our testing capacity we don't know what the true picture is so and apart from the total number of reported cases what has become a matter of concern in the past few days is the number of positive cases rising on a body basis and another challenge for the dumb faces right now is all do why is it an exit strategy from this nationwide lockdown because several economy experts have made it clear that if a nation wide log down the toilet on it is announced then the impact on the economy would be catastrophic because the economy was already on
2:23 pm
a downhill slope before the call the crisis now the government is walking a tightrope now they have to make sure that the bomb some laid back and the economy by allowing some sectors to resume but at the same time maintain a tight hold on the number of cases in general how are people in india coping with the lockdown measures. there isn't it was going to uncertainty there isn't a. scene the market thought of the migrant workers after the 1st lockdown was announced we have seen that they are what about their livelihood they have lost their only source of livelihood apart from that for others as well they are feeling at an uncertain future in which they're not sure how long this is going to continue or whether they would retain their jobs as they're also facing be cuts so at the moment people do need a strong voice of reassurance and i feel the coming few weeks we make the picture much clearer. monita child 3 reporting from delhi for us thank you.

well scientists and the w.h.o. agree that testing is a key measure for containing the corona virus outbreak but some countries are unable to carry out enough tests because of a lack of testing facilities now a company in israel has developed a novel way of making tests more widely available and easier to access. it might look like a new standard but in fact this is a new israeli development designed to meet the high demand for corona virus testing a few weeks ago the trial run started. here but i work in a nursing home and we all have to get tested i think i'm healthy and i'm excited about this new invention so. the coronavirus test booth is a one man operation the patient shows their insurance and identity cards then their data is printed on a label and a mouth smear for the corona test is inserted into the pre label tube this is put in a cool box and later taken to the lab the patient and test personnel do not come into

personal contact at all and the whole process only takes 5 minutes including disinfection. he doesn't need to wear anything to protect himself. so we are consuming. protective equipment. and medical staff so it's easy to use it's safe. to coronavirus test booth is mobile and can be set up outdoors many patients are happy to avoid hospital waiting rooms and doctors' offices where the infection risk is much higher. that is so much in 24 hours i'll get the results and until then i'll be in home quarantine the test results are sent to their mobile phones the coronavirus test booth was developed by the israeli health insurance
