8:02 am
reliable is this information coming from the state news agency showing kim jong un alive and well well certainly i would trust the information coming in from korea central news agency much more than the reports that we got over the past couple of weeks there are a couple of indicators that we need to look at at these pictures one is of course it's kim jong than himself that it's certainly doesn't look like a double in the background you see can you know john his sister younger sister and perhaps an heir to the leadership of north korea as much speculation there's been a boat that this week she's also the vice. director of north korea's propaganda and agitation department so she's vested in seeing. the north korean media and kim jong un portrayed in a very positive light it would be an astonishing photo i think for north korea to
8:03 am
try to you know hoodwink or fool or lie to the north korean public in this way suggesting kim jong than was alive when in fact he is dead so you know in this case i think it really is a credible report that kim jong un is a lot coming from again north korea's central news agency a likely credible report and we certainly have seen images of him over the course of our lifetimes plenty of images but are north korean watchers able to authenticate that these are in fact recent photos of the north korean leader. i think that might be a little bit more difficult but if we look at some of the other photos there there was a photo of 'd thousands of people releasing new balloons now kim jong un was in in that photo that is on the internet that korea central news agency released but that photo is of people releasing of balloons thousands of people and those people are wearing masks which would indicate this is after the coronavirus sort of outbreak
8:04 am
had had perhaps filtered into north korea so that indicates again that this is quite a recent sort of event quickly frank has this shed any light on how the kim family dynasty works into a might be next in line to take power certainly it has initiated a tremendous about of speculation over who would lead north korea next and again i mentioned earlier his sister kim jong she's just 32 years old but she has sort of developed a much more stronger and influential role within his sort of executive branch she has been a decide for for many of the summits handing 'd kim jong un his pen pulling back his chair and stamping documents that and declarations and accords that he signed with other leaders so i believe it it sort of points to her frank smyth thanks so

a very strict lock down rules in place for the past few weeks of course what's the feeling now that they're being needs. honestly it's it's a great feeling especially since that comes together with a significant decline in the number of corona virus deaths we have seen the lowest figure for for more than 2 months personally i've been in a privileged situation in the past 2 weeks as a journalist i was more or less allowed to move freely and as a parent i could take my child at least since last weekend but still many people it's really the 1st time for more than 7 weeks that they are allowed to leave their park and for anything else than buying food however the restrictions are still here they can only go out at specific times there's a specific time slot for each age group for example adults can only go out in the morning and in the late evening and the other times reserved for elderly people and
