schultz yeah and just give us a feeling of what what the vibe is on the streets right now. most people that i saw on the streets today were extremely relieved that they could finally leave their apartment to get called many it's been 7 weeks and as you can still see behind me it's been a very beautiful day here in spain so in some cities officials actually warned of overcrowding but from what i've seen on the streets people are following regulations quite well and there are still a lot of frustrations for example. a different time slots for different age groups and also you are not allowed to walk further away than one kilometer radius. so they're proceeding with caution it sounds like one of the next steps from the spanish government. step is really just the 1st step. procedure it's planned for spaces that the government calls

transition to a new normality. census stressed that it's a symmetrical plan and meaning that different regions can move in different speeds according to the infection rates one of the most important milestones would be to open restaurants again in a few weeks and then at the end of the road probably in mid june spend us will be allowed to travel again at least within the country is speaking a traveler spain of course is known for receiving many millions of tourists a view needs them for its economy so one resorts there are going to be opening again. the plan says that hotels can open again in may and mitten a budget on the limited capacity of about 30 percent but i talked to the head of the association of hotels in southern spain and he has very little hope that there

will be anything close to a normal summer season there might be some spends to respond to the international tourists and of course this is dramatic for they are for the economy and spain more than 2000000 people work in the tourism sector so a lot of people out of work want to spend years think of their government's performance so they are satisfied overall. now very divided spain is in general quite polarized between the left and right even in times of crisis so a lot of conservatives conservatives tend to blame the left wing governments that it hasn't done enough that they are partly responsible for the many deaths year it's true that the government in the 1st faces has reacted it's quite slowly but that lot of problems for example very limited capacity capacities and health system here that of course go beyond the responsibility of the current government ok

at close quarters hardly any wearing masks. we cannot convince some unwise people to respect social distancing rules. people are of course free to walk the streets but we could not always prevent some passers by from clogging the streets and turning into groups of rubber neckers. but most of the may day holiday passed peacefully restrictions on public assembly inspired some creative protests like here in berlin but a german camera team was attacked 5 people were injured some seriously 6 others were arrested some 5000 police were deployed in berlin. in the u.s. more states are reopening for business amid a fierce nationwide debate over how soon coronavirus lockdown restrictions should
