several days now in moscow as austin keno television tower has shown this beating heart a thank you to the country's medical professionals officials say 70 doctors and nurses have succumbed to the corona virus across russia. and that spring indeed of your correspondent you're a shadow in moscow yury as we've just heard you're experiencing a record one day increase of 10000 new cases in russia why the big job. while the high numbers of new infections see in russia of course sound dramatic and are they on actually dramatic but there is a very simple explanation and that is that the number of tests being carried out in recent weeks russia has really upped its testing efforts apparently it's one of the countries with the highest number of tests worldwide most of the testing is taking place here in moscow which has been the hardest hit by the virus the authorities recently changed their policy testing people in the beginning you have to have
8:04 pm
clear symptoms and you have to have had contact with someone who had gone out to get tested now it's enough to have a slight a runny nose or other symptoms of a cold you can call the hotline and get a visit from doctors who will test you ok and how early russian authorities are reacting. well directions to vary of course the new numbers of infections and deaths are at least every morning here so with one hand and i'm not excluding myself here you wake up in the morning and get several push notifications with all these frightening and numbers but because of the set up for the trend has been going on for days and with a new numbers of cases being reported people have also gotten used to it what's a problem for thor exist now is that there is a lot of my holidays across russia at the moment people usually after parties and barbecue in big groups and with the weather getting better this will be a really tough test for the russians in south isolation but authorities have taken
8:05 pm
additional measures to keep people at home for example the national guard is going to deploy helicopters and drones to money told to lock down during the holidays and up until may 11th and moscow's mariya sabean has south of that 13 security 13000 security forces will be patrolling the city which is a very high number even from moscow and the fact that to the russian prime minister tested positive for the virus was shocking news that could be a wake up call for some people here ok to use your earshot of reporting from moscow thanks for that. it's time for a brief look at some of the other stories making headlines around the world. british prime minister boris johnson has offered more insight into his recent hospitalization for corona virus in an interview he said doctors had been preparing a strategy in case he died johnson spent 3 nights in intensive care during his week of treatment in a london hospital. students in israel are returning to school after 50 days at

home the oldest and youngest are the 1st back the remaining classes will return later this month. south korea says its troops extend exchanged gunfire with north korean forces along their tense border seoul says north korea fired 1st shooting towards a south korean guard post early on sunday no injuries were reported washington says it believes the north korean gunshots were accidental almost 3000 people on a cruise ship under quarantine in the german port of cooks haven't are being tested for covert 19 at least one person on board has tested positive and now everybody is being tested those on board our crew members from the cruise fleet of the to the travel company. ditto views michael elson and sent us this update from the port in cooks haven't. the crew ship is currently under strict quarantine here in cook's
8:07 pm
how often they're almost $3000.00 people on board none of them are tourist they are all crew members of the entire 2 a fleet which normally operates at this time of the year in the mediterranean sea or the canary islands now put all of its crew members and employees together on board of this vessel and brought them to germany just a few days ago everybody on board has to be tested for the virus and health authorities say that test results won't be available until late monday evening we hear there's a great amount of anger and frustration on board because it's really difficult for people who are already stuck there for weeks to exercise social distancing when they even have to share cabins as we hear so it's completely unclear at the moment when the odyssey for the 2 young chloe's will come to an end billionaire
