protesting against the government's corona restrictions and supporting more freedom once again thousands are gathering in stuttgart families with children corona deniers or people who are afraid of compulsory vaccinations. because it just can't be there we're being beaten down and off fundamental rights are taken away from us and this is that is this is all of deprivation of liberty and it's manipulating people and frightening in tiny groups of society that's crazy right by because i'm the mother of 3 i want them to go totally free as i did i don't want to have to secretly meet up with my trying to 3 year old daughter from across germany organizers have called for demonstrations against the restrictions such as this one here in berlin. and munich only $1000.00 people were allowed to the demo but at times more came. political scientist tom mann if it sees similarities between the protests and the beginnings of the far right to get

a movement going to answer i don't believe that the number of people unhappy with democracy in the government's policies has risen over the polarization between the 2 sides has become huge with you and has come back again jus to the corona crisis a corner of much of talkativeness. experts like mine of it a warning that the protest movement could radicalize you can already see more and more right wing extremists gathering. well for more on the anti lock down protests i'm joined by d.w. reporter joel diller oid thanks joel for joining us well you know we heard the report you know that the protesters are looking for more freedom but of course you know we've had the easing of restrictions here in germany in the past few weeks so why exactly are these demonstrations actually taking place it is a bit counterintuitive because we have seen restrictions starting to lift across germany restaurants and cafes can open again there are less restrictions on people meeting each other socially but one reason these demonstrations are taking place
1:04 am
now. it's partially because they were being allowed to previously though banned under lockdown restrictions that was overturned by a court and local governments were instructed that they had to allow these out of demonstrations to occur under certain conditions and so that's what we've been seeing but also there's some concern that this is moving from just being about the lock down to being about other wider issues so for example the german federal police is warning that right wing extremists are using these protests to push their own agendas and that right wing parties are now encouraging their members to attend so it's moving from being more about the lock down to being a general anti establishment movement but really it's a much support for these protests here in germany well a poll by the spiegel magazine found that around one in 5 germans think the lockdown measures have been too excessive and a similar number are sympathetic to these kind of demonstrations so that's still a minority but it's a very very vocal one now keep in mind that support for the medical and hope body

has actually increased during this pandemic so the chancellor has seen a growing amount of support during this time but some analysts are warning that that could start to fade away as the virus comes under control yet people continue to suffer economically so chancellor angela merkel is really going to have to handle the next coming weeks a very carefully to make sure she keeps people's trust while easing restrictions to meet those economic concerns well economic concerns are not just here in germany of course it's across europe and in fact we've seen protests taking place in other european countries in particular tell us about those demonstrations it was a day really has been a day of anti lockdown anger we've had demonstrations right across europe many cities in the polish capital walsall there was a demonstration organized by business operators who are worried about the lockdown now that was shot down by police with tear gas several people being arrested and we also saw in switzerland protests in israeli people from the hospitality industry

players who didn't start had to wear masks and keep their distance but what's not unusual is some of each machine earning holland scoring goals and 1900 groped a deadlock in the 26th minute for his 10th each goal of the season and it was a muted celebration with play as unable to embrace one another out of. but there was no stopping drop munt just before the break they made it to nil thanks to laugh i am sure. and it all started with this nifty pass from the union and. the 1st half was one to forget. and so was the 2nd. one picked up exactly where they left off the top and added a 3rd goal minutes into the 2nd half and if that wasn't enough game at all with the brace to seal a foreign mill victory for the black and yellow was. there now one point behind

leaky does by and munich normalisation 1000 but but we knew that we we had the support at home from the fans so we were not. we were never afraid of anything we knew that we were going to win dogman play is kept with tradition and at the match with a celebration in front of an empty yellow wall. well we spoke earlier to deduce for its davis fun of dorp who is standing outside of dortmund's home ground i asked him how much of an impact he thought the empty stadium had on the players. well a lot of these teams around the been is thinking of actually brought in psychologist to specifically deal with that question sebastian care who is one of the members of the front office a former player for president he said that that's one thing that they've been actually trying to mention they prepare the players for during the coronavirus hiatus is the fact that they are going to be playing in games without fans so
1:10 am
whenever they scored a goal you didn't hear the thunderous roar of cheering that you normally would hear when the ball hits the back of the net so there's definitely a mental aspect that the players have to prepare for if you were standing outside the stadium during the game you wouldn't even have noticed that a match was taking place there were people cycling by also just walking and and just in as if they would normally do and then occasionally besides a perhaps a few whistles or perhaps some few cheers when one of the players scored there were no as other sounds from the stadium so it was incredibly quiet after this year considering how big of a game it was for german football it is goldman does and i'm stuck taurus will again be able to visit from the 3rd of june a 14 day monday tree quarantine period will also be scrapped for visitors from the european union it's a big step for a country recovering from one of the world's worst coronavirus i'm frights but the prime minister says it's a calculated risk as it leans heavily dependent on tourism. famous for once

the coronavirus pandemic have eased the most addicts and we have to close we spend weeks cleaning and reorganizing and while we were doing that we kept thinking what could we do we came up with lots of ideas including this one that the 3 square meter greenhouses came from an artist's collective that used to grow plants and them with different light colors. the guests for tonight's trial of the restaurant of the future are employees and their friends. often the out and about you're supposed to keep your distance but the question is for how long and how much do you want to give up for it that's why this is a good idea you're not putting anyone at risk and you can enjoy life that's important to you. stuff where plastic visor is for protection so that guests can see their faces they want gloves while serving the food on wouldn't planck's to
