4:04 pm
well for us out there wanted to gather here to show their support to us protesters but they also want this momentum to be seize not only by the government but also for the whole population and not just in the u.s. but oh so here in germany to do something about every day of racism for this conversation to happen on a daily basis and for you to change things now hearing barely in a few days ago that palin said i passed an anti discrimination law. for people to be protected against discrimination of all kinds for skin color as janet color of gender or disability or for people to be protected i guess out of what discrimination but he has to go further for people here it's about everyone understanding the scale of the racism still very very present in all societies and it's about is just about time to change that and you can see all the romney that hasn't are people who stand up next to us protest as and who stand up for that
4:05 pm
because for them black lives motto. political correspondent and then us thanks for joining us. now as we heard for some people in germany it doesn't seem to matter how long they've lived here or if they were born here their appearance makes them a target of racial abuse we spoke to some victims of racism about their everyday experiences in germany. and is it until the. one time i was shopping and an old lady pushed past me and then said uncle would not have allowed you to be here. it's the hinge he gave 0 you want to kill me you down foreigner i think you are a country what are you doing here and i thought so said every day racism is right here profiling is a clear part of my life just like going to the toilet it is part of my life's work . for people for experiences they've either lived here in germany for years

a few months ago because of another problem we pressed charges and now justice has been done. this is. a man who young and is a few will make any musician he says racial profiling which means the police stop him because of his appearance is a daily problem. that makes you see how deep rooted racism is a black man somehow looks threatening a chaos stop him you see. these are not exceptional cases. works for a group called each one teach one the victims of racism they examine black people's experiences and anti discrimination counseling. we white people in germany may say racism is no problem but for black people it is part of our daily lives either because we encounter structural racism or because we discriminated against on the straight north of college song is no longer willing to accept the

situation he's organized an anti-racism demonstration in cologne when my going off this was not that if you don't do anything about racism if you just ignore it then you are tolerating it and at the same time promoting it or liking for it. and that is what i wish people to understand the 15 demonstration in cologne will be one of many taking place in germany this way can and. now for a look at some of the other stories making news around the world. veterans of the allen forces have returned to normandy to commemorate the $76.00 anniversary of the d.-day landings this year ceremony was far smaller than normal due to coronavirus restrictions event marks the beginning of the offensive to recapture france from the nazis at the end of world war 2. years ago like alexis ohanian has resigned from the board at reddit in an online post he asked to fill

of the most hotly contested borders in the world between india and china. the yellow line on this map marks a boundary between the 2 countries it's known as the line of actual control but it's not a hard front here as china and india never agreed on where their official border should lie in $962.00 the 2 nations fall to war of the issue but fail to resolve the problem in the decades since that conflicts have been several stand off between chinese and indian troops patrolling the area. one of the longest and most serious was in 2017 in the summer of that year the 2 sides confronted each other for $73.00 days after indian troops blocked construction of a road by china with the leaders of india and china discussed the problem at meetings in 20182019 they promised to maintain the peace but they made no progress on settling the issue of who owns the land in the border area nevertheless they put

mechanisms in place to prevent lethal flare ups between troops but recent satellite imagery posted on twitter by an australian security analyst suggest both sides are building up their military presence in the area and this is causing concern that another more serious confrontation could be looming. correspondent joins us now from delhi good to have you with us now of people in the region where this conflict could escalate into something more dangerous. well i mean that a definitely as we are talking about. nations but it just actually there is a difference between what happens when i think the opposite let's as ben sees the china and the kind of oppressive almost jungle isn't that we see and posturing that
4:12 pm
we see but the son is largely absent when it comes to china now analysts believe that this because of china's conventional warfare going to be a lot of heat but on the other hand we also see indians come together to try to. find out what example of china ad became very popular in the last 2 weeks because the fact that the about all chinese out there ones that also went in seventy's coming out and saying stop buying chinese products give them that parts but of course there's a $90000000000.00 trade between the 2 countries and downloading and removing a few apps is probably not going to have much of a damaging effect on the event in china seem to be making an effort to resolve this conflict military commanders are meeting at a border post there now what are they hoping to achieve well that's right i mean already there have been tens of thousands of minutes she talks at lower levels
4:13 pm
leading up to this however this did not meet any positive results yesterday that was done progress because diplomats from the countries got on top of that your options to get up and school about how a dispute between those who plan to use muscular zoid to peaceful discussion these military talks cost step $2.00 is that they are also save the bismark is that a complete resolution right now but it seems that india has a lot of these talks and it has requesting china and i'll call infrastructure development one of the insights into us in the minds of the troops leave the joint to the status of the for the tensions the coolest listening is actually what happened when the door couldn't stand off 2017 it. what is behind these repeated standoffs this isn't the 1st time this has happened so what is causing these but i mean this is basically because the line between like actually is just an idea that a lot. to do country see eye to eye on but there are still many points of quantum
4:14 pm
it there that have been advices and that have been status similar to what we saw earlier last month in me now one of the mean reasons that leads to these down also is infrastructure development on one side we talked about how in document 27 d. india pakistan infrastructure development by china there is also speculation that this standoff over the last week has been the 1st china has updated to its also up to development by india i'm a common allegation from what site is the true 7 winds into the un attention this is what india has said about chinese troops this year as well but again there is also concern for analysts synergies that because of time as conventional religious will be your deep and because india would not want to escalate this is one thing but this minute you know we have the china. and. so this is something that endeavor definitely watching and not been discussions.
4:15 pm
