spoke to correspondent teri schultz who is reporting from the demonstrations in brussels she explained why people there have taken to the streets. there has been police brutality here in the here in belgium as well as was sparked by the killing of of george floyd in the united states and those cases are something that people here gathered to protest in april a 19 year old was killed in a police chase and there are others and we saw the front lines throughout the protest there's another issue that activists here in belgium are hoping might be addressed with the momentum of blacklegs matter and that is the very brutal colonization of belgium by king leopold the 2nd you'll see statues of him all over the city all over this country at the judges have been vandalized all week in one case king leopold wore a gag that said i can't breathe the dye i was george so they're hoping that finally

the inequality that they feel has been not just allowed to to continue but revered throughout belgium might also be something that is on the table for discussion with the huge turnout that we've seen today the support of of the city of brussels for the black lives matter movements could you tell us about that the martian day in brussels comes after a 1st attempt on monday to organize a march but that was canceled so what happened there. that's right with the coronavirus restrictions in place which are quite strict through tomorrow in fact we all are only supposed to be having 4 people in their bubble in our bubbles at the moment as you can see i have a lot more than 4 people in my bubble right now some are that will expensive 10 this did not want to risk the spread of coronavirus and so they said no on monday and organizers responsibly called it off today the mayor said that he simply had to had to give in to people's desire to express themselves they agreed to keep it

the heat and humidity were no deterrent. everyone does not race literally up to the but i don't love. their old outdated a fetish people understand. it's not enough to be angry you have to vote yes to translate that into action you need to be a consequence for that action and you need to be taught that it will happen nobody knows me they know. while demanding action against police brutality is at the forefront of saturday's peaceful demonstrations these protests are also highlighting a long standing problem a lot of money called systemic racism and inequality in the united states topics that will likely become central to the presidential battle for the white house in november. some other stories making news around the world in tripoli

a tell and to time it's a challenging task especially you're living here with 60 scientists and crew members on board of the lesser souls space that's really limited and it's actually also a lot of work that is happening because we also want to keep the measurements running so it's a challenging task but the team is really motivated and we're looking forward to keep the measurements going and despite these challenges the mission is still going on and what's next for the pull us down. well we are heading back into the ice soon and we hope to step to be able to stay there and till the middle of october we will return back to get my half and then for the next journey it's going south to antarctica at the end of this year and i want to ask about global warming did you notice can you see the effects of global warming from where you are there. well
