service rallies and being bigger than the capsule so in the catch tell me of the parliament of the building of the parliament there are also all of different completely different social groups professional groups different people medical workers and also workers of those factories and while there are thousands of people there you know in the live pictures that we're showing right now you can see many protesters holding flags holding all kinds of objects including flowers in fact earlier we noticed some protesters literally offering flowers to the soldiers armed guard there do you think the security forces are all loyal to look at. what's very hard to say reverence lines in the previous days that security forces or law enforcement agency as leader wants to be violent they don't want these troops i'll suppression i very though well there are different signs

foreign ministers discuss possible sanctions on bail use in a video conference our brussels correspondent georg mathis has been following this story for us greetings so did they agree on sanctions. michael the avidly started the process of imposing sanctions and that means that the european institutions now if the task to set select a list of individuals in bella ruse 2 groups that we're looking at one croupy is a people who have committed fraud in the elections who are responsible for the electoral procedures taking place and the other group being individuals who are responsible against violence against innocent and peaceful protesters and that group at the end of the day will have to prove to be approved by foreign ministers at the next meeting but the green light to put the list together has been given today ok so so give us some perspective here what is at stake for the e.u.
8:06 pm
in trying to reach a resolution to this and does it appear that any resolution that they might be able to iron out at this point will have any real teeth. well for the e.u. it was today absolutely crucial to send a political message of solidarity to the people on the streets in balad ruz it was just not enough to say that we closely monitor the situation or that we're gravely concerned about what's happening on the ground things we've heard throughout the course of the week and a so in particular german foreign minister for instance asked to increase the political pressure so that is what happens today when it comes to how effective these sanctions will actually be it depends entirely on on how brought the list will be if it's a narrow list it will be in favor of the regime but it will also be in favor of countries like hungary you are rather skeptical about slapping fresh sanctions on the roosts so at the end of the day you need a list that can be carried by all 27 you need to unite unanimous decision. off of
8:07 pm
people off your member states to support the list of sanctions. nasser's on top of this story in brussels for us thank you gail authorities in afghanistan have begun freeing 400 taliban prisoners their release as been a key demand of the taliban for entering into peace with the afghan government it's a controversial move since the free trade centers include insurgents convicted of attacks on afghans and forge. their last few minutes behind bars just one more signature from the prison management and they're free these are the 1st prisoners allowed to leave this prison near kabul they are serious criminals terrorists and murderers and it seems they've memorized what they're supposed to say on camera. i am a member of the taliban and was imprisoned because of murder i wish for

a long term ceasefire and peace. the president ordered my release or. part of the taliban and was sentenced because of murder and kidnapping i want peace i thank god and i wish a peaceful life for all muslims. some of those released were convicted of being involved in the truck bomb attack on the german embassy in kabul in 2017 that day over 150 people were killed and more than 400 were wounded. lost her father during the attack she does not understand why the government is releasing the terrorists responsible for killing her father instead of ensuring they're punished for their crimes. they did it better my message to my father's murderers is we do not forgive you and to the government i say we will never forget
8:09 pm
that you were letting these terrorists go the government could have given them the death sentence why aren't they doing that. you had to settle down and many are skeptical that these taliban fighters will now turn their backs on violence and campaign for peace in war torn afghanistan. highlighting some other stories now. at this hour. democratic presidential hopeful joe biden and vice presidential contender harris have signed the documents necessary to certify their nominations biden selected harris as his running mate earlier this week she's the 1st black vice presidential nominee in u.s. history. that germany has declared most of spain a high risk coronavirus zone including the island of majorca which is popular with german tourists only the canary islands are exempt from the warning travelers to high risk areas face compulsory coronavirus testing when they return to germany or

temperatures over 35 degrees and strict visitor quotas on city swimming pools has sent people flocking to the lakes. it's great you can go in the water without freezing with this heat it's a nice way to cool off. berlin doesn't get that many really beautiful sunny warm days so when it's nice out you have to take advantage of it. that makes life more stressful for the people who enforce park rules like here at the show the lake usually their job consists of walking around and making sure people are all getting along but now they also have to make sure visitors follow park rules. i'd say were overstretched on busy days there are 6 of us and 40 or 50000 visitors that gives us plenty to do it's still early afternoon on a weekday the park wardens have time to remind people to maintain social distancing
8:12 pm
. maybe move up a little bit so you're one and a half metres apart the park wardens already have their hands full with preventing forest fires protecting nature and resolving conflicts. on this one. the number of swimming accidents is also rising after doing around they report to park manager mox huppah. the record coronavirus added a lot to our workload we can't just stop our fire protection efforts but there can be a lot of aggression between visitors we have to mediate that and also deal with corona so we try to combine everything and we appeal to everyone to exercise self discipline and responsibility. discipline. the park wardens do what they can they hope that berlin's legendary. named one of the
