difference the trip continues on a ferry across the visa river. for sylvia it's another childhood memory. she wants to see its mighty waters one more time. from france alone reserved a special place for her with a view look there's a lighthouse in the background a short walls of the phaser follows in the middle of the waterway the ferries captain circles the boat a few times especially for some of you know him and. back outside the associations headquarters to nations and feeds from 1st aid course is that from venza oh and his colleagues offer paid for everything here. all the associations vehicles bear the name of fenceless late wife elizabeth. 6 years ago when she was dying of cancer she wanted to make one last trip to the north sea prevents low couldn't find an organization that could fulfill this final wish

because health insurance wouldn't pay for it. or if we cannot offer our fellow human beings a last bit of humanity and kindness in their final hours for purely financial reasons then there's something terribly wrong in this country that was the last straw that's what i'd like but since then venza has organized hers like the one for sophie annoyed and. she wants to take another look at her grandparents owned neighborhood. watch her thoughts on the coming days. and pretty relaxed i think you know i was back here again and that's really beautiful. and i look at the pictures again but there's something more to it. something poignant and deep. the turn lasts

for hours then it's time to go back to the hospice frank vince low hasn't counted how many last wishes he's fulfilled he says as passengers shouldn't be reduced to statistics. then it's time to say farewell to the passenger. and like every time it's goodbye for good. i just said goodbye and i said if we don't see each other here any more than someplace else what else can you say to people. the next morning winslow prepares the ambulance for its next passenger. he doesn't want to arrive too late. i'm sure there are many families who are grateful for his service. they are the largest demonstrations in poland in decades tens of thousands of people are protesting a court decision that bans nearly all abortions and they fear that the country is
3:48 am
sliding further into autocratic hands as the ruling law and justice party pushes a conservative nationalist agenda olga sat back is expecting her 1st child and she is alarmed by the government's plans she says the protests as a fight for self autonomy in her country. these are some of the biggest protests in decades in poland. women and above all young people are demonstrating against the new extremely strict law on abortion. it would mean that in the future an abortion would be illegal in poland even if the fetus is so ill they would die at birth women feel deprived of their rights. this week over here to show that we're strong and able to fight for our freedom and right to decide we don't want to be terrorized we want to have a choice i mean if you put your as an adult and simply ashamed i've been ashamed
3:49 am
for several years already that i live in such a country i'm really mortified. that you and i were being stripped of our rights we have been abandoned and need to fight for all the women in poland that covered her advice. is pregnant with her 1st child. she supports the demonstrators from home because of the coronavirus. me but no i haven't been at any of the protests my husband and i wanted to go but the fact that i'm pregnant kept me from doing it to mission at least. and her husband artur are looking forward to the birth of their child they already know they're expecting a girl. and the doctors say she's healthy. but what if that weren't the case what if the fetus was terminally ill and unable to survive. if i found out now that
3:50 am
the pregnancy was threatened or that something bad would happen to the child right after birth and then she would die and i'd still have to carry the baby to the end . i'd be able to feel the baby but i'd know that it would die. that would be an inconceivable atrocity to the mother and the child who's going to die anyway. what really has all gone is the timing. well being and making a decision like this during a pandemic when you can actually predict people being opposed to it it's not the 1st time people have demonstrated against this that the luckiest. the nation wide demonstrations involving hundreds of thousands of people are about far more than abortion laws they are protesting the right to self-determination and freedom in polish society that the abortion ruling was made by a government friendly constitutional court just adds insult to injury. the
3:51 am
fine opposed to the ruling made by this fake court because i'm a woman and i have my rights group you're throwing him out 3 of the vital knowledgeable people to get through the door we want to live in a normal western society we're fed up with a few 5 gentlemen running our lines for us bush on the here but you know. the protest in devoutly catholic poland is directed at the church as well demonstrators have interrupted masses the police have been brought in to protect the churches but ultra right nationalists are showing up as well spoiling for a fight there have been clashes. there has also been heated debate on abortion legislation in the polish parliament the same the deputy prime minister is demanding harsh measures be taken against the demonstration organizers during the pandemic. and i suppose in crowds of people to mortal danger or criminals just plain folks this is the 1st interview. but the
3:52 am
intensity of the protests has apparently shaken the resolve of the policymakers president andre duda is proposing compromises to allow pregnancies to be terminated not only in cases of incest after rape or if the life of the mother is at risk. but many of the demonstrators say that's simply a poor compromise their continuing to protest here for example by blocking the streets opposition politicians are supporting them. it says if i steal a 100 from you and give you 50 back. despite all their joyful anticipation. and her husband artur are left wondering about the rights women have in poland. i feel threatened because i feel my rights are endangered i'm no longer sure about my future here in this country.

and it is this uncertainty that is placing a stressful burden on the mother to be. have you ever waited hours at a bus stop in the freezing cold well for young kids in rural sweden like the ones we're about to meet it comes with the territory but some have found an alternative means of transportation there is the ingenue it and the legal loophole they have found a way to drive on 4 wheels despite not. and their vehicles are quite special. they may look like they've got a lot of horsepower under the hood but far from it. despite the tricks none of these pick up trucks does more than 30 kilometers per hour that's why they're marked with a big triangle above the rear bumper for young people in rural areas here in sweden there are huge trend that's because you can drive a so-called tractor from age 15 with a moped license. your boy i live in the country i can use it to get to school and

they're a nice way to get together and hang out it's fun. also be home. who are about the same age or in a snap chat group together we write to each other and see where everyone is. air fresheners stereo systems all for cars with a top speed of 30 that are really tractors by long the vehicles 1st came about when people in rural sweden started converting old cars into farm vehicles they were used to pull trailers through the fields they only had space for 2 people. you have to rear part and move it forward. so you end up with a space for transporting stuff. like i used to be used in the fields. that's where the farmers could learn things. today the pickups or have become the hobby for young people in the countryside and they're also

this is you know the news live from berlin the u.s. president blasts his own country's electoral process in his 1st address since election night the u.s. president calls mail in voting quote corrupt if you count the legal votes that easily won if you count the illegal as they can try to steal. the election from. this as his campaign launches legal action to stop ballot counting in key states our u.s. team fact checks his remarks.
4:01 am
and way of glue cruft welcome to the program facing possible defeat us president donald trump is doubling down again making false and baseless claims that he was robbed of victory in the u.s. presidential election which wrapped up just 48 hours ago meanwhile he's losing ground in the counting in the 4 swing states that remain undecided the latest figures show biden with 264 electoral votes the president trumps 214 you need to 70 to win the presidency so what is left on the table we have georgia for example a traditionally republican state with 16 electoral votes up for grabs it is an intensely tight race maybe as few as of a spliff small the spread is 2000 votes they are definitely neck and neck 99
4:02 am
percent of the votes counted and the latest count has shown exactly that 2000 votes behind the president joe biden is and he is catching up fast with more ballots coming in pennsylvania is the biggest prize still up for grabs with 20 electoral votes donald trump currently holds a narrow lead that gap is narrowing as we speak. and there are many mail in ballots are expected to favor joe biden then out west or a zone or arizona the votes are being counted even though the associated press which is who we use for making calls has called that for by them the other major news networks have not yet because it is just so close those 11 electoral college votes are up for grabs if we include that in by this count that brings us brings into the 264 that we said at the top nevada meanwhile joe biden is currently with a slim lead in that state that state by chance has 6 votes that he needs to win to
4:03 am
get that to 70 there are still maybe 190000 ballots left to count most election officials there say in democratic favor areas looking at the big map the the states are being are counting donald trump's path to victory appears to have narrowed states in red and blue you see there are those called by a.p. for trump and biden state in lighter blue or pink are leaning towards biden or trump respectively and just remember any one of these states will give by them the win trump needs a combination of them to hang on. and with a victory looking more and more difficult the trump campaign has launched legal action claiming fraud trying to stop the count in some states state election officials say there is 0 evidence of any wrongdoing to the contrary they say counting is proceeding for the most part smoothly all across the country but here is some of what the president said earlier a challenge joe and every democrat to clarify that they only want legal votes
4:04 am
because they talk about votes and i think they should use the word legal eagle votes we want every legal vote counted and i want every legal vote counted we want openness and transparency no secret count rooms no mystery ballots no illegal votes being cast after election day you have election day and the laws are very strong and that you have an election and they don't want votes cast after election day and they want the process to be an honest one it's so important we want an honest election and we want an honest count and we want honest people working back there because it's a very important so that's the way this country is going to win that's the way the united states will win and we think we will win the election very easily we think there's going to be a lot of litigation because we have so much evidence so much proof and it's going to end up perhaps that the highest court in the land will see what we think there'll be a lot of litigation because we can't have an election stolen by like this and i
4:05 am
tell you i would i have been talking about this for many months with all of you and i've said very strongly that mail in ballots are going to end up being a disaster small elections were disaster small where is it and elections were disasters this is a large scale version and it's getting worse and worse every day we're hearing stories that are horror stories absolute horror stories let's get more on all of that donald trump had to say with me an asset in washington i mean he's making some big claims saying he has evidence is there any evidence that the election is being stolen from him. all right we saw him talk for about 5 minutes there and say has lots of evidence but did not give any of it which begs the question what is he talking about and he has not gone into any instance he's in his tweets many of which have been censored by twitter for lack of evidence he says just read the
4:06 am
media the evidence is there well i've been following right wing media here fox news has been talking about evidence about corruption but again not many examples coming through what i have seen is the example in atlanta of poll watchers being turned away republican poll watchers of course they were there to protest the counting of votes and in fact they were turned away because there was already over 100 poll watchers from both sides in that polling place and they were turned away because there were too many so that is one instance that they've pointed to without saying that in fact there were republicans in that room another one which was reported by the new york times or was that the postal service has processed over several 1000 ballots that were cast after election day this is one thing trump has been complaining about and there's evidence that a few 100 of those were maybe tallied in georgia but of course the.
4:07 am
majority there for for trump is very slim $100.00 votes could matter but in the end it probably won't come down to such a slim minority and this is something that the states are already prepared to deal with discrepancies like this you know he seems to have a real big problem with these malin votes but for example the c.e.o. of the u.s. vote foundation she called absentee ballots which these mailing votes are based on the gold standard in voting so what is trumps what's behind trump's calling them corrupt what's in it for him. that's right absentee ballots have a good record so far of course there's ways to manipulate them but there's no evidence that it's happening but trump is afraid because absent absentee ballots tend to favor democrats it's more democrats using them so i think his plan right now is to cast doubt on them so that litigation could end up turning things in his favor and of course there are some court cases that the trump administration has
4:08 am
already tried to lodge but many of those court has been thrown out exactly due to lack of evidence let's listen for a minute we'll come back in a 2nd to one more thing that donald trump had to say earlier but i've been talking about mail in voting for. it's it's really destroyed our system it's a corrupt system that makes people corrupt even if they aren't by nature but they become corrupt still easy they want to find out how many votes they need and then they seem to be able to fly them they wait and wait and then they find. despite the lack of evidence and confusing illegal ballots for ballots you just need to be counted there are people who believe him he has of course many supporters and so how is a statement like this going down with supporters of the president. it's going down very well we've seen protests almost launched by his statements people
4:09 am
going to places where votes are being counted and demanding. detroit's where the vote count is going in favor of went in favor of joe biden they're demanding that the count stop there and then arizona where it's going in trump's favor there demanding that the vote continue of course the vote is going to continue so his supporters are definitely riled up by this and i think because trump has been so vague about the massive fraud that he says is going on evidence can just kind of come in we've seen facebook this information spreading so people are collecting their own evidence and not actually looking to the media for what's really going on here but meanwhile the counts go on in all of these states does any of this bluster any of these comments any of these claims change the actual math on the ground. it's really even if there are recounts it's only going to affect several 100 several 1000 votes of course in a state like georgia that could matter so we'll have to wait and see if trump's litigation is going to have an effect all right i mean as there for us in
4:10 am
washington thanks very much. and let's go to one of those states that both sides very much want to win pennsylvania stuff and simon is in philadelphia where it is a neck and neck race in that county is happening right where he is stefan what is going on there seems to be so many people there i'm assuming they're not all vote counters. they're not go caucus here right those are well there's a just a tiny tiny tiny little group of trump supporters still left that maybe this room innocent to what's happening in the big picture in philadelphia in pennsylvania actually to donald trump and his comfortable vote lead which he had just 3 days ago he led 550-0000 half a 1000000 votes now it's down 278000 votes in the lead and i'm telling you this because why because there are still 250000 votes to be counted here that happens
4:11 am
right here where we are at the pennsylvania convention center in philadelphia and right behind me are biden harris supporters and call count all votes supporters facing off all day long all a bunch of and now it's just a bunch it was a sizable crowd earlier bunch of trump supporters and this is exactly where i am and what is happening here and again counting you still going on right next to me here in other counties surrounding philadelphia the counting has stopped. yeah so you bring up a lot of numbers there why don't we put it up on the screen test to make it clear what is at stake in pennsylvania again 20 electoral college votes joe biden donald trump duking it out there trump with just a short lead 49.9 percent to 48.9 percent with 89 percent of that vote in that 11 remaining percent is the crucial difference stuff on break it down for us how many votes are there still to count we saw that 11 percent where are they coming
4:12 am
from is it for biden is it for trump what are we it's what are we what are they saying what are we telling. those those $250.00 valid still votes still to be counted come from here philadelphia predominantly predominantly democratic. cities slash county also bucks county allegheny county and allentown all those last mention from me here by me allegheny bucks county allentown they were red they were actually trump county ca had the lead there he won all of them in 2060 now they turn blue meaning they count their votes counted right now still to be counted tomorrow in all of those counties and here are predominantly biden votes that means philadelphia and the surrounding counties the suburbs remember please women of the suburbs like me that's what police like me that's what donald trump said in many
4:13 am
many speeches just a few weeks back they didn't it seems to be the case that they didn't like him they don't like even they voted by they voted democratic and this is what happens now they send in their votes mail in ballots and they're counted right now as i said they're still counting going on now and those are the critical this is the critical mass joe biden wins this thing however long it takes if we have a final results of more tonight whenever he wins this state and he's over the top he's. the president of the united states donald trump eats to win this state as you pointed out and a couple are all this more otherwise he's not going to make it it doesn't look so promising i'm saying this with all caution but it doesn't look very promising for a president trump to the contrary it looks 334 missing for the biden paris ticket pennsylvania very purple a state you know you have republicans in control of the state legislature a democrat governor what makes pennsylvania demographics lead to such
4:14 am
a close call. while it was a blue ball state and it will but that was before hillary clinton then trumpet the unthinkable for democrats and turned it the state went to trump now it's going to go the other way it looks like it at least and that is showing you how diverse and how much this country how much this state just changing. changing all the time we're going to see where it changes in the next couple of days thank you very much stuff and simon's. this is the news live from berlin a reminder of the top story we're following for you. folks counting continues in several battleground u.s. states still no clear winner in the race for the white house in his 1st appearance since election night president trump slammed now in toting which is favored democrats his campaign has launched legal action in undecided states to stop counting postal but. they're watching t.v. news all morning headlines on that nail biting us election at the top of the hour
