japanese space mission extended in the 1st samples from a distant asteroid they could provide clues to the origin of the solar system and the life on our planet. omarion evanston welcome moscow kicks off a large scale vaccination campaign today with the russian made sputnik vaccine against cove in 19 the country says it's produced around 2000000 doses to date and will distribute the vaccine free of charge doctors teachers and social workers are among those 1st in line to receive the jab the rollout is going ahead even though clinical trials have not yet been completed. sergey expect enough ski took the leap after seeing friends fall ill with covert 19 major. analyst at de w.'s russian

service says he did a lot of research into the vaccine before signing up for trials. just a disability so i decided for myself that at the very least the vaccine is safe and in the best case it will be effective if they give me the vaccine rather than the placebo before they vaccinated me they told me it was safe but they gave me a life insurance policy anyway in case of death my relatives will receive the equivalent of around 22000 euros in compensation people in case have become disabled or get up to 17000 euros but i doubt that will happen. around $40000.00 people have already taken part in trials 1st but they could be one of the 2 russian vaccines trials for both are ongoing but the vaccines are already registered and being rolled out across russia doctors and teachers are 1st in line to receive the jab which authorities have emphasized will be free and voluntary but
10:03 am
there have already been media reports of people being put under pressure by their employers to sign up. the union of medical workers is being put under pressure to agree to getting vaccinations but we have also seen mass refusals and even resignations of course that isn't improving our health care system. not all teachers say they are on board with the vaccination scheme i have there. but it's on the bottom warning we're supposed to sign saying we will carry the risk so if i got vaccinated i would be risking my health without any guarantees that the vaccine won't have a negative effect on my body and that's why i would like to have the choice whether i want to get vaccinated or not. and russia isn't just rolling out sputnik me to its own population it has already delivered samples of the vaccine to serbia hungary and venezuela and it also has production deals with several countries
10:04 am
including india and china experts say the goal is to show that russia as a scientific superpower. vaccination can be compared with a space race the main thing is to stake a claim on being 1st the 1st country who produced a vaccine and the 1st to start vaccinating people we won't find out what effect the vaccine had until a year or 2 from now or which one was the most successful this one the british one or the american one. but sergei said enough skis hoping for more than politics after getting the 1st of 2 jabs he had a fever but quickly felt fine now he's hoping the russian vaccine will keep him safe from the coronavirus along with thousands of others getting the job across the country. well for more we're joined now by w.'s moscow correspondent emily sure when emily good to see you so journalists. who you just saw in the report you actually work with him in moscow do you know how he's doing after getting
10:05 am
vaccinated. he's feeling absolutely fine he's been going to work in recent days as well he said that he got a slight fever a few are in the evening of the job and that continued the next day but then his temperature went down and he started feeling totally fine he has one more job ahead in a few weeks and apparently he's been told that after the 1st doubts the job 40 days after that he should get antibodies so he's hoping for that phase 3 trials such as the ones that said again underwent are actually continuing on both of the vaccines that russia has already registered and is now rolling out in clinics like this one on me now and we understand that the clinic where you are standing is a place where people are going to be back summated to day can you tell us a bit more about how exactly the vaccine is being rolled out there.
10:06 am
things are pretty quiet here at this clinic which is so far at least which is one of 70 points across moscow where the vaccine is rolling out reviewing rolled out starting today a moscow is the 1st place where the vaccine is being rolled out in russia that rollout will be continuing apparently over the next week across russia that is at least what president vladimir putin announced in an order of last week talk to teachers doctors and social workers will be 1st in line to get the vaccine apparently people can sign off on a government website and yesterday we heard news that thousands of people 5000 people had already signed up for the job today here in ma. russia is the 4th most infected country but despite that in the 2nd wave of the corona virus we haven't seen very strict lockdown measures here including in moscow which has been the most
10:07 am
affected by this virus restaurants here have to close from 11 pm they can stay open there is no lockdown for people to stay home people are being encouraged to work from home however and the government and the authorities have repeated that the situation is under control and that they don't want to lock the country down perhaps because of this vaccine that they're rolling out all right emily reporting from moscow thank you. all right let's have a look at some of the other developments in the corona virus pandemic the world health organization has warned that the vaccines on the horizon should not lead to complacency it says the virus is still spreading fast and that mass than other measures will be needed for the forseeable future portugal has extended its state of emergency by 2 weeks much of the country is currently under lockdown to curb the
10:08 am
spread of the virus and the u.s. centers for disease control is for the 1st time recommending the universal use of face masks outside the home because viral transmission is now at such a high level in the country. now let's turn our attention to some of the other stories making headlines around the world. a u.s. federal judge has fully restored the obama era and the creation program known as docomo the program provides work permits to some young undocumented immigrants and shields them from deportation it's the 2nd time that a u.s. court has overruled the trumpet ministrations moves to cancel the speech and. michelle golland yang and is u.k. counterpart agreed to colleagues negotiations and oppose breaks of trade deal that's after a week of intense talks ended in stalemate the negotiators will now step back while politicians decide if several major differences can be overcome time is running out
10:09 am
to reach an agreement the break the transition period ends on december 31st. at least 14 people have been killed in a bus crash in the brazilian state of mena good nights where than 2 dozen others were injured of course but the bus was traveling east of the state capital of belo horizonte when it fell more than 15 meters from a highway overpass. cubes and now some news from space japan's high on both the 2 spacecraft has successfully released a capsule that's expected to land at a remote base in australia early on sunday japanese space agency officials cheered as the council carrying a rare samples from an asteroid detached from the spacecraft the capsule contains rock and soil fragments that scientists hope will provide clues on the formation of the solar system and the origins of life. or a mission to the distant asteroids or you go has taken 60 years of us.
10:10 am
all right let's bring in still vicar of bonnie from science department for more on this story hello to you still vicar so the capsule launched by the japanese spacecraft is making its way back to earth as we speak what more can you tell us about the samples of carrying. well that basically rocks and dust from this asteroid row who grew apparently it's they've got a life take a sort of going so it's 167000 kilometers from that as we speak so another couple of hours to go the reason we're interested in rocks and dust from these far distant bodies is because they have pristine they kind of untouched and they tell us about the formation of outside of a system and because we won so this is and that tells us a lot about us as well and how we might progress because the kind of you know different stages of their progression of their life cycles that can tell us how when we're actually going. to hunt to something so fired up
10:11 am
a project going into work into the asteroid to create a crater to get rock from people under the surface and that's also important because the stuff that lives on the surface is going to be one kind of material basically very simple terms and below the subs will be even more untouched and instead of that was all minerals are down there and so that's why we're really interested in that sort of stuff also going into the future as we look into sort of human spaceflight and resources from space that could either help us on our or in space ok so this is just part of a mission that was launched 6 years ago celtic are what was the main goal of this japanese space mission and where does it go next. well that's a very interesting question i forgot to mention just now mascot which is another sort of that you know it's an international mission but it's not just japanese mascot was a german french mission so they took pictures as well and that was sort of for further sort of international collaboration that's one of the objectives of these sorts of missions all the time however what is it about really it's about proving
10:12 am
that you can get to a distant body and return back number one because we talk more about 2 space flight building bases on our moon or on mars and one of the things that we had some people out essentially is as much as the pioneering spirit is concerned is if you go to mars you know coming back and people are really desperate to prove that they can go there and come back so you've got china on the moon right now doing one of these so-called sample return mission is to bring. stuff back rocks and samples back to earth as well the americans and the europeans have gotten a mission to mars and the japanese themselves they do 2024 of got a similar sample return mission to lose of mars so it's about telling people that you can go to these places from about and come back and of course we're going to build bases on the moon or on mars how we got to survive so we need to know what minerals are there and whether we can find water whether we can build habitats and
10:13 am
that sort of thing so that's what is leading us where it's really going about it's about more than just learning about that so this is the main site where can we actually live somewhere else in the solar system that's what i think it's really about to be frank. bonnie thank you. ok let's move on to some sports news and football's world governing body fi fund has approved maternity leave for women players even made the announcement at a virtual news conference on friday female players are now entitled to 14 weeks of maternity leave upon their return clubs are aligned to reintegrate the players and provide adequate medical support hopes that the changes will offer stability and help boost the women's game. if only to remember that the players are the protagonists of the game they are the most important part of the game and we have
10:14 am
to make sure that we set the stage for them. to shine when it comes to female players. this means. that we should bring. more stability to dave couriers. in the german bundesliga how to berlin took complete advantage of one young berlin who saw their lead to disappear due to a red card then had to. tag stole the show when young berlin opened the scoring in the 1st half but you minutes later were left with only 10 men to defend a brit on today she was sent off for this high foot challenge here to level the score after the break. and then polish striker shaved off contact with the hero super sub scored 2 goals within minutes to lead her to berlin to a 31 victory over their city right. there watching
