as time has been passing, anthony, we're getting bits and pieces of information coming in. as you mentioned already, we're hearing now that it is a 19 children and at least one adult. in addition to the shooter who is dead. there are others who are still in the hospital. we understand some could be fighting for their lives. so this death toll that we mentioned could rise again. and i want to stress again that among the 19 students dead, we're talking about kids in the elementary school who are in 2nd, 3rd, 4th grade. that means kids from around 6 years old to around 11 who, 10, attended this elementary school, a rob elementary school in val, day and authorities are still in the process of speaking with the families of the victims. they said they would release more information once the families have received all the information they could share. and with so many victims, anthony, this process is going to take time. we don't know if it is even complete yet. we do know is that this was a lone gunman, according to authorities 18 years old. he attended the high school interval day and

we heard that the shooter actually shot his grandmother before getting into the car . heading to the school. he apparently abandoned his vehicle and enter the school and it's being reported that he had a rifle and that he was wearing body armor. we also have heard, although this hasn't been confirmed yet, we have to be careful with also all this information that he did purchased those weapons legally and did engage in fire with police officers at the school. so it is not clear how that happened and we are hearing that his grandmother is in critical condition according to a reports here. but again, so much information is still being processed. anthony, there is a massive law enforcement pro law enforcement presence on the ground investigating it. lauren forestman naturally dealing with the victims. do we know much more about the young man or indeed, why he did this? well, that's exactly what authorities are trying to piece together right now. we have a federal law enforcement the f b, i joining local law enforcement right now. we don't

a whole lot at this point about the shooter. we know that and he had apparently posted some violent messages online and we understand from what i seen on twitter that some of the shooters allegedly, some of the shooters social media accounts have been suspended. as some of these investigations are ongoing. again that he was an 18 years old and from this community had attended a high school in this town. we don't know anthony if he attended this elementary school, even if he was intending to attack the school or. and most importantly, why he would commit this crime. so we're hoping in the course of the coming hours and days that we will find more information out about what was behind this attack. we heard you as president jimmy joe biden urging the nation to stand up to the powerful gun lobby. is there any chance that this time there will be enough anger to say politicians legislate to stop this happening? i think there's very little chance of that, anthony. i mean, we heard that very emotional president biden, they're demanding action. this is

a message i should say that we've heard echoed across washington from democratic senators and representatives. and it was just 10 days ago that there was a mass shooting at a supermarket and buffalo that killed 10 black americans. and if you look at the house of representatives where democrats do have a majority, they have been able to move forward with some type of gun regulation. so strict are background checks on the types of weapons that can be purchase, but that has stopped short and the senate republicans have repeatedly blocked any efforts to move forward with this legislation. and indeed, anthony, today we have seen already republicans calling for more armed protection at schools rather than less regulation to restrict access to gun. so again, that avenue for change looks very slim. here they w. washington correspondent, to me so much scandal. many thanks and he now are some of the other stories making news around the world to sell. north korea has launched another 3 ballistic missiles according to its neighbors. south korea says the rockets were
