people had to run for their lives. minutes earlier, families with young children had been gathering for the parade when gunshot suddenly bang out panic parents trying to protect their children. i remember hearing shootings and i like i'll, i thought about it is, you know, getting my daughter to safety and i ran with her. we went to the nearest mcdonalds and, you know, she lost her shoe along the way, my daughter answered. you know, she was scared, started shooting again, and we ran behind the building and i put my, my son in the dumpster, and he sit there with his dogs. and i went back to look for the rest of my family. it was just horrible. police say the shoes have fired into the crowd from a nearby rooftop. with a high powered rifle,

5 people were killed at the scene. another victim died and hospital. dozens of people were injured among them. children. the attack comes just the month after 2 must shootings and texas and new york. it is devastating that a celebration of america was ripped apart by our uniquely american plague. a day dedicated to freedom has put into stark relief. the one freedom we as a nation, refused to uphold the freedom of our fellow citizens to live without the daily fear of gun violence. the shoes managed to flee before police storms, the rooftop authorities issue to stay at home order for residence in the area. while a huge man hunt got underway. meanwhile, police announced that had identified a 22 year old man as a person of interest. he was arrested without incident and taken into custody more

weather is to ease overnight and, and sort of the rest of today. what we are expecting to see is that the clean up and the recovery of these communities going on for weeks and months on end to relentless for those still cleaning up from the last one. the new south wales premier has said there is no doubt these events are becoming more common to what extent is the government connecting this disaster to climate change? we certainly are seeing the connections happen and it's important to remember that we've just come out of a really wet summer. so we've had a linear weather system hanging over a trailer, which means that we've had an average range for quite some, which is the driving factor that a lot of the wet weather events we've seen quite recently. and now we're coming into the cool months here in australia, which means that we do have a colo store season. but what we've also got behind knows a lot of climate drive is, which is sort of exacerbating the problem here. so we can things out any sort of
