or 4 men of being involved in terrorist killings. he executions have been widely condemned by international observers. many more political prisoners are facing similar charges. earlier i spoke to i men tan, to journalist from me and mar, who now lives in exile. they told us more about the executions and what they mean for pro democracy, the pro democracy movement so far, very little known about the actual executions. um, even the manner of execution is currently unclear to military has not confirmed how this they were killed, but most are presuming that it was a hanging because that is how executions have been carried out in the past. but we do know that the families were allowed to speak with the 4 men before they were executed on friday. however, they weren't told at the time that adam and we're going to be executed. the military also played coin over the weekend about whether or not they were about to
11:03 am
carry out the sentences, although because the families were allowed to meet with them for the 1st time since their sentencing. many had speculated this will be carried out today. what signal is the military hunter sending? would you say by carrying out these executions? the military hasn't facing quite a lot of resistance from our people within the country, including many of its own officials as well as soldiers police, and those who worked for the military being the target of assassination campaigns, as well as active conflict in many areas of the country are given that there are over a 100 people who are now on death row, who have been sentenced. the military came out. many believe that this is a tactic to try to install and still more fear in the population. but it's quite unlikely that that is going to be successful, although that although there's quite a lot of anger in the country over 2100 people have already been killed by the

military. and so many are unlikely to be cowed by these recent actions or based on what you just said was, is the likely effect of these executions on the democracy movement and man, man of world, likely to see quite a lot of retaliation. and after the sentencing of these men to death, add to that an rti as well as the sentencing of other prominent activists as was partisans that has been retaliatory attacks on prisons on our military officials. and i think we're likely to see another wave of tax as retaliation, or are these actions. and i think we're likely to see the continue erosion of rule of law by people who, you know, may have been in the past, more willing to accept military rule. but are now more and more convinced every day that there will be no justice and there will be no rule of law under this regime.
11:05 am
you've been them and in your criticism of the crew of the one tell you now live in exile, do you hope to return to me and more one day hope to return to them one day. and i do think that given the strength of the resistance to the military so far, you know, this is a, an institution with over $1000000000.00 budget fighting against a population of largely farmers that has been largely unable to solidify its rule even over a year after their cou, i do have hope that i will be able to return the future. however, i think that is not going to be something that's going to happen in the next. in the short term, at least i'm in terms a journalist from me and my thank you so much for your time. thank you for having me to the war and ukraine now where the country's military says it is preparing
