. also for learning lessons like we heard there from the pandemic. but what would taiwan then like in return from germany? i think one of the key and top issue for taiwan based on my conversation with lawmakers here and also experts here. and they think that is a strengthening the bilateral trait ties, and they are hoping that may be some kind of discussion kim, be started through this delegation visit by the potentially exploring the possibility of establishing the bilateral trade agreement. of course, that is a years of steps that will have to be taken, but some of the experts even suggest if germany was able to actually take the 1st step with taiwan, it could even become the reference point for future e u, ty one byler bilateral trade agreement which the european parliament has actually been. bring this up over the last few months. what about the delivery of something

like arms? i think for taiwan, they are. the current government is very practical. a bell. the possibility of essentially because the u. s. has the taiwan relations act that requires us to play that role, but there is no such law that exist in germany. and so i think the expectation of an actual on supply right now, currently from germany is not off the top priority. but for time one, the most important thing is for berlin to actually continue to engage with time one at all levels and with a very public statement and public engagement. and at the same time, having more substantial engagement and exchanges like the trait deals and trade relationships. because they know that once the supply chain between taiwan in germany was established, that it could potentially play an important role to get into the consideration in

terms of how germany calculates its relationship with china or how germany positioned itself in the, in the pacific region. and does tie one worry that any german support could be held hostage to its relationship with china. i'm sure that's also definitely part of the consideration and calculation for taipei when it comes to how deep and how it wants to really draft and position itself when it comes to engaging with germany . because it's whitely known. the, the german economy relies heavily on china in the chinese market, but with the new government that came in last year, there is also signed that berlin is taking a little bit of a new, a pivot tours. it's approached in china and towards the inner pacific. so i think taipei is holding on to the hope that the new government in germany is going to
