earlier i spoke with our correspondent mathias bellinger in keven. i asked him why the ukrainians are still wary of that russian announcement. it's a bit unusual to announce a withdrawal days in advance and rhetoric has even before hinted at that. so that something that makes a military year suspicious. the plot could very well be to draw the ukrainians into the city of harris on weight there with quite a few units heavily armed and engage the ukrainians and costly street fights or to have major buildings mine to a blow up a parts of the city as the ukrainians enter their many variance, but to this announcement seems a little bit suspicious to people here to the military. and that's why the ukrainians are saying they're moving on very cautiously. they're very well aware that this might be something different from what it looks like in what he has. what

about where you are there in the ukrainian capital key, but what are people they're saying about this withdrawal announcement? at 1st of course, the announcement was met with joy that it was expected that the ukrainians might move on to her son, and that the russians might retreat. but a now of course people are discussing all these possibilities and, and trying to figure out what is really going on. it's, of course, the biggest subject of discussions now in the ukrainian capital it abuse mathias, berliner in keith's mathias. thank you. he was president joe biden has welcome the results of the mid term elections after his party. the democrats fared better than expected. u. s. media had predicted huge gains for the republicans, but that did not materialize. a democrat biden's, democrats look, set to lose control of the house of representatives. but the senate now that

a speech like that this thursday. but that's where he is. that's what he's doing. who benefited the most from these midterms, wasn't the republicans. the democrats was by nor was it former president, donald trump. i think it's safe to say a brand that the democrats and president biden benefited perhaps the most from these elections. we just heard president biden, they're driving home that message once again. he gave the speech at the democratic national convention earlier today, and he said, democrats beat the odds in large part because americans overwhelmingly supported his agenda and his message. and he pointed to the fact that a majority of independent voters, so those who don't vote are not registered, rather with republicans or democrats, that they voted for the democratic party that women and young people showed up in force. so it's clear at this point that the democrats certainly performed better than had been expected. the republicans also did have some bright spots. they were happy to win a big senate seat in ohio, some big congressional seats in new york. they won some big governors races in the

state of georgia, for example, beating stacy abrams. but republicans themselves brent. they are voicing disappointment because they again had expected to do better. and that last part of your question, i think it's safe to say that donald trump did not benefit much from these elections. i mean, many of the candidates that he hand picked did not do very well. it was the more extreme candidates his struggles. so that's raising questions about the viability of riding that trump wave in the republican party. yeah, we, we just spoke with the republican a former one health insider who said that the donald trump endorsement has now become toxic. i wonder what did these mid term election results mean for the next presidential election in 20? 24? well, definitely trouble for donald trump. i mean we're seeing right wing media itself, raising questions about trump's influence on the party, including fox news and, and he's not happy about that. as you can imagine, he's been a raging over on truth social, which is the social media site. he's blaming the republican party. we're book republican officials for making bad choices. and as we've been talking about at the

same time, his rival rhonda santas, the governor florida getting heaps of praise for doing so well. so even though we're expecting the former president to announce that he's running again, the pressure on him is very high to rethink. now for the democrats, we should say that president biden has said he is running as of now, he has to consult his family advisors. he'll come to a decision early next year, he said, and he is facing some headwinds. the fact that he's still unpopular and that he's turning 80 this month. so there might be some factors that change things there, but as of now, it would be president biden, for the democrats in 2024. yeah. and we know 2 years as a new term of the politics, a lot could change, but we're still dealing with these midterm, so we're or vote still being counted. and when will we have the final results? and yeah, we're all eager for final results. but there's a lot of counting still to be done. you mentioned the senate races there on a knife edge. and we got an update recently in the state of nevada that more than
