about the treatment of these workers at fox? scott? thank you. first, have been for taking up this issue though workers, it fox can have always been in a very challenging situation with very difficult working conditions. but recently it's become much more so with fox kind of instituting what's called a closed loop plan or workers had to live in factories on site, are not allowed to leave the site and had to depend upon the company to provide them with food, medical care, etc. and recently the food has been running short so that they've been getting things like bread and know, or rice and beans sprouts. and so they're very distressed at the same time because of pressure from apple. in particular, to increase production, there's been a move to bring in a 100000 new workers who were given a lot of promises for big bonuses,

which they were then told they wouldn't receive unless they worked through march in these conditions. and that led to them trying to escape. is there anything apple can do about this? that's a very difficult question. apple is the customer effects con. vice can produce to 70 percent of all i phones globally. an apple depends upon china as the source of assembly and manufacturing for 90 percent of all their products, 98 percent of their i phones. so they really have put themselves in a very dependent position with china and the increasingly authoritarian chinese government. apple does have policies that states that workers right should be protect it, but they clearly are unable to enforce them or unwilling to. and that's often common when brands put pressure on a supply chain to speed up production,
