3:03 pm
a private registration, with the man 40 years old, maybe from base and we don't know exactly when to this house to talk with the radio station that you shot there. also there was a dog damage, but nobody can do it. then they went to the city center to the shopping center. it's mark gallery. it's a very big shopping center in the middle of the town. and there he took 2 persons with the child and was in the shop. we all were on the street. it was closed by the police, all of our very nice christmas market called to teach them up. they have been a lot of tourists. about 1011. it was all close. nobody could eat or drink anything. and the police tried to speak with this man. chris of unfortunately

we run out of time. i really want to thank you for what you've been able to tell us today in the light that you've been able to shed on this hosting situation and dressed. and that's, that has now come to an end, christ of, of course, confirming to us that the suspect in question is now dead cliff off spring. our interest in thank you so much. thank you. ok, we're going to go to belgium. now police there have arrested 5 people, including a european parliament, vice president, eva kailey. she is a greek socialist, emi p, who has since been expelled from her party. she's being investigated as part of an inquiry into corruption and money laundering that involves a gulf states guitar. you authorities are investigating for others, but also detained. aside from her prosecutor said they were looking into payments and gifts given to people in strategic positions in a you decision making who is in favor. there's been
3:05 pm
a number of around this democracy, but the focus is on her time eva, kylie, who that in europe, she belongs to a greek socialist party and is one of the vice president of the european parliament . now, she's being prosecuted in a corruption prob said, does he, who said, receiving verses better, correct money laundering, and criminal organization, which concerns potential corruption from a personal state as you go into your compartment? the purpose of the bribery was to try to change the political or economic decisions off to your department. we could do better than what the media reports name katara as the state allegedly buying influence. kylie met guitars, labor minister in november, shortly before the world cup. start it. the labor is in a video posted on twitter. she sent the european parliament recognise and respected tars progress in labor reforms high and low. she made similar comments during
3:06 pm
a speech at the european parliament later in november. they accusing some members of parliament bullying to try and accusing them of corruption. there's the goodness . katara is a throne rather in labor rights, abolishing a fall and reducing minimum wage. despite the challenges that even europe's companies are denying to enforce the love, they committed to a vision by choice and they opened to the world. this is despite international concerns that thousands of migrant workers could have died, building the tournaments stadiums. kylie has been expelled from her party at home and her parliamentary group. what happens to her next will be up to belgium system of justice. let's go straight to brussels now and speak to dw correspondent jack herrick. jack, bring us up to date on what you know about this investigation. well,
3:07 pm
is getting ever, ever deeper. we know that 600000 euros in cash was confiscated, that potentially eva kylie's. father was trying to get some of that cash out of an apartment that's been widely circulated in belgium media. and i have it on exclusively for the w that potentially the categories are themselves investigating the labor minister that she was pictured with in that report just there. and also the un bassinger to the european union. i suppose those are the 2 people that would initially be investigated. victories are simply saying officially that they're, that they are just investigating where these links are and exactly what might have taken place. the belgian authorities are continuing their investigations and there are a number of offices sealed in the european parliament. now let me bring you another angle to this. i just did a bit of digging into the voting of the european parliament. eva kylie, attended a meeting of the libra committee. this the human rights and sort of the issue is the so legal committee of the, the european parliament. she isn't
3:08 pm
a member of that committee, but she turned up on december the 1st to a vote, which was about visa liberalization for katara. and she weight combined, and she voted in favor of that. and i, me, p are able to go and vote in different committees and put their voice is heard that it is a sort of additional pile of evidence on top of the very positive statements that she's been making about cattle publicly in the european parliament. it's starting to sort of a big weight of information is starting to come in, which is starting to stick against her in this investigation. certainly them very serious claims that have been making against that have been made against either kylie jack. i kind of wanted to ask you about what kinds of charges can be brought against members of the european parliament. you know, if they're in hot water as she is, don't they have some kind of diplomatic immunity?
3:09 pm
yeah, there is diplomatic immunity for city members of the european parliament. they often can't be extradited for instance. but in this case, because they are corruption allegations and specifically related to her work as a member of the european parliament that immunity will not protect her, especially when it's related to a belgian investigation. the question is, how wide will this go now, members of the european parliament, a meeting at that plenary in strasburg next week, and there will be votes. the left group of the european parliament is saying that they want a vote tabled on this to get a full debate in the european parliament plenary, which i mean peace could vote against that would be a bad look. and also there's another vote on potentially, on the visa liberalization, on thursday, where all lies will be on that, isn't the liberalization for cat on this, all in the middle of catalyze will come old. very interesting. indeed, that was d. w jack carrick in brussels. jack, thanks,

will protest to serve taken to the streets of iran again this after a man was put to death in the 1st execution or the anti government demonstrations. moslin shikari was hanged on thursday after what observe is described as a short trial demonstration broke out in multiple cities as the protest movement heads into its 3rd month activists. a warning that at least a dozen more iranian protest is, could face execution, including well known rapid too much selection. it was forced to make a confession on stake, media or c bush. a cube is an iranian journey. german write a filmmaker and activists to focuses on women's rights and religion in iran, where she was born and raised earlier i asked her where she expects this all to go as neither side is backing down. it's a very ugly situation and the regime exactly knows that they cannot survive, but they are still killing people, a drowning regime. the only answer they have is to kill people and they want to,
3:11 pm
in my opinion, they want to gain time to get their money and their possessions out of the country . we have heard news in the past 2 days and we have had news from right in the beginning of the revolution that the high rank islamic republic leaders are already transporting out their possessions, money, gold, jewelry and so forth. and their families with private and secret fly lights. and now they've talked to venezuela, who gets her mission to live there with their families and they try to get out the positions. i think they are just trying to gain play. this is, this is the absurdity of this current situation these days, like you said, very rightly everybody knows. in the beginning it was on the us saying this regime is done this time the revolution will win. but now everybody knows,
3:12 pm
even they themselves know that they are not going to come back to power anymore. but they are still killing people. it's just to gain time. it's just because it's like a fly that you have killed and it's fighting at cbre. i wanna just her ask you finally about this execution of madison shikari world leaders, including here in germany, have condemned his execution. dave announced fresh sanctions against iran. do you think this is going to make any kind of difference at all? you know, i think whether it makes difference or not at this point is not even important. but what is crucially important? what is crucially important is that these sugs and the leaders of the islamic republic, the criminals, the murderers,
3:13 pm
the child will as the records that they know, that they cannot to make one single step without the world seeing it. and without the world reacting to it. and i think that's what counts, and i am grateful to every country and it's people and it's leaders and governments who actually do react to every step that these criminals teach. and we're grateful for your time. that was a filmmaker, an activist, sebra jakob. thank you very much. thank you for giving the people in iran a voice, and i am just a loud speaker. thank you. ah, leona messy is well cap hopes are still alive after argentina won their quarter final against the netherlands. the south american for 2 goes up with 7 minutes to
