gone through video around the area and that there is no evidence to substantiate what they've said. so there's no idea. there's no reason they don't have an idea as to why this happened and why their police officers had so much aggression from the very beginning. and it continued to escalate and actually had the unfortunate responsibility of having to watch the video. and you see terry nichols trying to de escalate while the police continued to escalate. and so the police chief does not yet know why. and how does this case, all police brutality differ to the others? well, part of it is the swift action by memphis. these officers were fired right away. it was care to prepare the public for what they were going to see. and there wasn't a, you know, let's wait until all the evidence comes out, their answer to proven guilty. the police union kind of has distance itself. and so

that's not lost on the black community that these black police officers were treated differently than white officers that that enact that. do police police protera brutality, sorry. so there is a difference there. they're happy that these cops have are facing the music, but they just want it to be with everybody and not just black police officers. so let's look at this. a little deeper isn't really a case about police officers abusing their power, or are we talking about, you know, internalized racism within black police offices and how they function in the police force? well, it's definitely about police culture, but i wouldn't take race off the table either just because the officers are black. what we know is that racism is insidious and it impacts everyone. it's not just white people. black people as well, sometimes internalize the racism that they are absorbed in. and so it's not just
7:13 pm
a white thing. it's not just somebody who is able to use or somebody that uses the n word. it's a culture, it's a mindset. it's a mentality, it's what makes certain officers feel like they can go into neighborhoods where people are black or brown, and poor and treat them differently because they don't have money. they don't have the same voice that other residents have. so how will this case impact the why the debate around police violence in the united states? well, you hear all of the politicians on the left and the right. same the same thing that this was a horrific event and it was referring to watch a young man be beaten for 3 minutes straight start, kit punch. it was. it's repulsive. ah, but the same rhetoric is not going to change anything though george, floor justice and policing act passed the house and it had a still birth in the senate. so there needs to be something and it's not just about

training, thus these hotspots need to be held accountable. so it's not about training. you don't train somebody how to be humane, how to treat somebody with respect. you hire the people who have the mentality to be police officers in the 1st place. says he ribbons in the studio for us. thank you so much. ah, looking that's at tennis now an arena sub olenka has bait wimbledon champion. alina ruby canna, at the australian open women's final. this was a sub, a link has 1st grand slam singles appearance. the be the bellow, russian lost the 1st set and the only set she's dropped this year, but she managed to turn things around to win 466364. and at some went to sports as well. mckayla schiffron is that one victory, shy of matching, legendary, sweet english austin marks all time record of $86.00 world cup. when's the american
