peace and the possibility of negotiations in china's role as a broker is just that talk real significance in this trip, i think is that she's in pain, is visiting yet again with his closest ally, reasserting his commitment to russia and to their close strategic ties. that's what really matters in with that in mind. we know that she is also expected to talk to you creating president zalinski. and she is casting himself or attempting to show himself as being this new global statement. maybe even a piece broke. i mean, what do we know about his vision for peace in ukraine or is it just window dressing for a way to get more influence in the reach? i don't think that he does have a vision for peace. and then, as i said, i don't think he wants the, the war to blow up, but he also doesn't want russia to be defeated. my best guess is that his preferred

outcome of all of this is that it would become a frozen conflict, as it was after 2014, maybe at a higher level of continuing struggle between russia and ukraine. that has the advantage of pre occupying the west, preoccupying the united states, preventing it from focus more focusing more of its energy and attention on china and on the indo pacific. if he can play some role in achieving that outcome, i think he would be pleased. another thing to say about this is i believe that one of his aims in putting himself forward or allowing himself to appear to be willing to play the role of, of broker is that it creates at least the possibility of driving some wages between the united states and its western allies, and maybe among its european allies we have varying views about the desirability of achieving a ceasefire and negotiated settlement that's always part of what she is interested

in. and i think he also wants to give some substance to china's claims of being a true global player. and one that's going to play the role of a neutral peacemaker. and, and that i think i want to pick up on your point about trying to distract the west in ukraine and so that the west is not focusing much on the indo pacific region that would be in she had things, interest witness. i mean, i'm just thinking this week, there was a lot of talk about this new us nuclear sub deal with australian. the u. k is involved in that util. you've got this new military alliance, if you will, forming to patrol the waters there around the pacific. certainly she's in pain. would like to see that unity dissipate whitney. yes he would. and just overall i think he would like to see as i mentioned you as focus and energy and attention and

and they were particularly the baltic states, which said that the 2 country should join together. poland would have liked to see them joined together. nobody wanted t c suite and left behind because the swedes themselves feel a bit insecure about that. they feel like perhaps they would be a target for an attack by russia, if they don't have nato's article 5 that ever all the allies wouldn't come to defend them. but in fact, to rally up sweeter self confidence, all of nato says, we would never leave sweden. we would never, let's, we didn't be unprotected. in case of an attack, i want to get back to hungry you cuz you were about to speak about the, the hungarian factor in this. i mean what, what's going on with hungary and finland that just goes to show you how we all have been waiting for turkey to approve, approve the memberships and i myself almost forgot that were still waiting on hungry, hungry has given several days. it said that it would approve the countries before

christmas and now it has dragged it out. everyone thought turkey would be the last one. and now it looks like it may even be hungry. nobody can really explain why hungry has dragged this out. they were using sort of arguments inside the european union to, to sort of say that we're waiting on waiting on other things to be resolved. but i think hungry will also move quickly. now that turkey is the finish. president said today that he believes there should be 32 allies, nato allies. would that would include sweden by the wilderness summit, which is scheduled for july. look into your crystal ball. terry will that half it'll, that was largely said, i think to make the swedes feel better, to make sweet and feel like finland wasn't forgetting about it as it to charges ahead into nato. it would be, it's very difficult to conceive of how unpopular turkey would be if it drag this out past vilnius. i think there's a lot of pressure going on behind the scenes to say that sweden needs to be and it
