people doing now? yeah, it's not just, not just yet back to normally if people are still uh, going back and forth. so that's still, i think a lot of people trying to get to the mall, which is very new. well, we'll end up. i think they're trying to get the glimpse of the rawls timely. on the balcony, the king on the balcony. and also there is to that he will then go out and read people to interact with people. then it's very, very crowded. yes, we have people flocking back and forth, some that have been watching the ceremony here just never we off he could do the soc is an on viewing not from all of the also other viewing platforms in central london. so it's still very, very busy. there's 3 separate off to all people are going back and forth in london is just the center along the it says really busy with people who want this somehow get it lives up there all the time really wants to have a special day and they don't mind the right, lots of union jack umbrellas here on the move, so it's pretty good. so you said the people have been viewing its own on viewing
3:01 pm
platforms. do you think people in general feel positive? what's happening today that do they feel positive? this is sarah many of these celebrations there were the people who really wouldn't, can, who would be trying to do how big alternative arrangement does not come into the center a lot. then on the day like this, and i know people organizing 5 rise and trying everything to do basically avoid the products for those people who are here, the discipline of the other ones. you may see there is a sense of occasion. they want to be telling the kids and grandkids that they will of you know, that they were part of this day. and so yeah, i think the nation is, is, is not united involved because the, some people actively against the monarchy people also protesting here, not very many people, but some people have been and others just really trying to not be part of the price
3:02 pm
. but those people yeah, definitely they, they, they wants to be positive it and even though not all of them would be uh, suit ariah's, super friends. but they still have the feeling that something really important is going on today in this country. i mean, it is an important thing to talk about because you know, whether you are a fan of the royal family or you're actively against the mona key. this is a combination of very expensive coordination that's happening during the cost of living crisis. we were just talking here in the studio about the number of prime ministers that the u. k has gone through in the last few years. they've gone through breast set. we've had cove, it's this being an enormous amount of instability. right now. there are a lot of strikes going on in the u. k. and people feel that donating their own sort of spending a bill of c will in security. it was so how to think that balance has been struck today. why the u. k. isn't in the happiest of places that say politically or a car, if one actually, and yet, you know,
3:03 pm
a day of such sort of history and celebration that we're seeing play out in front of us right now. yeah, i think this is what a lot of people appreciated about this and bought them on the key that it is something that doesn't change. and one gentleman, one couple, i've been chatting to who watched the ceremony and who said who, who really, really moves by it. they explicitly said that there are so many changes and we have a war in europe and, and things can, can change so quickly. and yet here we have a moment key and we've got these traditions, it talking back to 2 centuries of, of tradition. this is what they really value. and that doesn't mean that they are unpredictable of everything and unpredicted off tomorrow the key. but i think it's just a moment when people feel that they wants to come together as a country, as i said, not, not everyone, but a lot of people really do feel that way and, and generally there is, or, you know,
3:04 pm
they feel it overwhelming support for the bridges from on the key here in the okay . and what about the science that the u. k. now has a queen camilla i think creating color while you know, in those unhappy days when the prince charles was basically having an affair with that, that was very different. she was viewed very differently. i think she's out the name and she just become more popular. and i've seen coleman's but she's seen as an asset for the role assembly. she's seen as somebody who, who is quite genuine. and she has a sense of humor. and um, and also she, i think it seemed that as a happy marriage between her and charles, so i think she has roots debility into the royal family, at least at least recently, maybe not decades ago. but things have come down and i think she, she is seen by
3:05 pm
a lot of people, us as the woman who should be uh by child the side inside. so i believe the latest polls show that the camilla that come miller is now out run king both prince harry and his his wife megan. so it, she, it seems that she has found a place that in the most difficult i mean what, what are the that's, that's not right different codes. what about prince harry and megan megan? obviously not. the coronation prince harry, is that, but we're not quite sure how much will be seeing of him. do people think in the u. k. did people think that he should be there this all this coronation given the control this the surrounding his, the, his recent book and all of his allegations about the role family? yes. his opinion because of his popularity is very, very no officer. all that happened of the book that he's publish all these revelations and as many people would say bad minding his family and the netflix documentary. so a, so he's opinion of people uh,
3:06 pm
not very favorable thinking the of of prince harriett domain. and i think most people will still acknowledge that this is his father who is, is being crowned today and that he should be, he should be here with his family. and maybe people are also hoping that it could be and all the bronze and, and, and that could be some form of the family getting together. but it does, it does seem that's um that he has done quite a lots of lots of bridges. so he would have really been, you would have to start building things up again with his family before before he's being a accepted again here in the u. k. and it doesn't really look like it is very short visit of sliding and flying out. he's not spending much time with this with this family. it looks like yes, the symbolism is that he doesn't want to be not here in the okay. on this important day for, for his father and he is still, you know, he's still the important cell and then the prince harry say,
3:07 pm
but it doesn't look like he wants to be very, very big part of the occasion. all right, well we'll see whether we got a glimpse of prince harry and this lady such that thanks so much for giving us a sense of what's going on in the streets of london, the general atmosphere on this coordination day. thank so much but again so we can see here the no tree parades continuing. as the king and queen king chosen queen camilla and now back in buckingham palace, presumably getting ready for an appearance on the balcony. alex and tell me we've really witnessed the play it a historic day, a ceremony with some extraordinary traditions and history. what stood out for you most alex today. what from what we've seen the symbolism of
3:08 pm
this, or i think that age sofa has worked very smoothly, must be a huge sign for lee for everybody involved. um i was, i was surprised at just how serious parts of that service? well, i know they had to be, but it's quite a bit strange to almost nice normal. he is to watch a mona being with the investigator, for example, being handed these crown jewels and how important they are to him being crowned king. i'm what they stand for, and the, and the history of it. what i mean, whether you want to kissed or not, whether you want the preferred person to be a republic. who knows there's no escaping from the extraordinary history involved in all of this. and just how seriously it's taken, not just by them on a key,
3:09 pm
but by, by oh, sections of society. it seems. and, and i'm seeing, for example, those crown jewels out of the tower of london and in westminster abbey. and that the crown that isn't edward's crime being placed on the king's head. i mean, that is historic. we're not going. we're not going to see that for a long time. we're not going to see that until prince william becomes king. so things like that to me will stand out on. so just looking at the streets now, people having a policy, this is joyce, and this is probably something that person needs at the moment they've been having many countries have been having a tough time. but we're just been having out the united kingdom is being having a hard time too much politics to infinity struggle is going on and they need something to celebrate and look at them that's celebrating that, waiving that happy, and that this is something it,
3:10 pm
they all please to get by and that's right, you can see despite the, the umbrellas in the rain, but we know that that never puts people off in the u. k. a, the crowds really extraordinary. there is a sense of a celebration and community. we can see the, we can see the police presence, the security presence of and see that it's been a huge operation on a day. like today in london, west thousands of people have gathered from both the capital itself and from, from other parts of the u. k. and from other countries, i mean, to me, this is, this is a thing that just attracts people from around the world. you know, whether they make it to the u. k. or whether they're watching from, from abroad. i mean, it really is something that brings people together as much as mana, i think of, and just watching just pictures of picturing 7 elements of, of, of, of the coordination. seeing that this, this could have been hundreds of years ago. and some of these things, if it's, i think it's remarkable that they've been preserved. and so this time for us to see,
3:11 pm
i mean money keys exists around the world. we have them, you know, all over the place. but the present present in this one, invest atlanta i think um it is quite spectacular. um, you know it's, it's the one thing. it's also recognize as much as you know, we're talking about the different views of what people think of, of the monarchy. but they're all these other monkeys that exist in many parts of the world. i mean an advocate, for example, if you go down to south africa, if you go to, they do have different monarchies and haven't read silver, then you go to different parts. so these are, these are not just things that people discard because they don't feel like it, they, they do present them in one way or them or another. and then this is the way versus, and celebrates its own history slightly. i mean, i wonder that the british royal family is certainly not, as he was saying is certainly not the only royal family in the world. and yet it does seem to attract a certain level of interest is extraordinary major. it's mentioned that the wills
3:12 pm
have to live with, you know, very private parts of the lives of analyzed by the media on the daily basis. and you know, that have been some definite dips in, in popularity. i remember when the queen describes a year as a m, as a even less unseen. 92 wasn't much. right. so that's right. when she had misses that, you know, it was tough and that that were real problems within the family. but some of this, but what, what do you think sets the british royal family upon? what is it the people of success, nice people, i do think i think it is the history. i think that for example, in america, they obviously don't have a royal family and they all fascinated by it. so i think that makes a big difference. so i think we have to be careful, though not to pretend that the whole world is happy with the situation because
3:13 pm
we not very, you know, we talked about it already. but for example, mental strain ins. i'm not happy with the fact that king jones is the head of states, and those are the so we talked about the caribbean as well. countries the pop 8 also has already replaced the king and become a republic. oh, we know that jamaica is keen to follow suit and that will be rumblings of course and in other countries as well. perhaps canada seems to be quite fro demona k. surprisingly. i know it has been so the comp pretend to become white bullshit old and just say, oh, it's always everybody loves it. but i do think that this is a spectacle on this quote. for some reason, this is well the u. k is very good at pushing on and making sure that parts of the, the history, whether it's clowns, thrones for almost is own,
3:14 pm
that they will never disappear. and this is what makes it special and set. so to pause, as, as time he said before, last if the golf on these within, you got rid of all of this stuff i'm fortune has know they've kept it. and they seem to want to that to us people to it may look at that. you can see the people who are just completely embracing this and we all going to be bringing all the coverage if the car a nation to and shortly. but it seems appropriate to end by looking at people, pictures of these people who really embracing the movements. they are, they're a celebrating the day, and they are celebrating the new king king charles the said. and as i said, we all going to have to conclude this special coverage of the coordination of king charles the 3rd and queen camilla. we will of course be reporting more on this
3:15 pm
