russia. what means does russia have here to defend itself, considering that most of its troops are actually in ukraine as well? the, the interesting thing is that the, you know, 25000 people look at the statistics and the size of the russian armed forces. it's one and a half 1000000, something along the lines. it wouldn't be that a controversy or for poor tend to try to mobilize the, the forces bloss, he's also using the f as b. he has all the intelligence agencies as well at his disposal. and i think was 25000 wagner is probably trying to intimidate rises. and he is wanting to fight the armed forces because it's going traverse hill from bottom to receive the respective. he wants to stand

that will have a significant impact, as well? as of right now, the forces in your brain remain there. they are not being re deployed to russia and they're still defending the territory currently occupied by russia. of course, it is going to have an impact on the route, this kind of uncertainty and what is going to happen in the crumbling. what is going to happen in moscow? maybe is there a son who's supporting wagner or others might not be supporting him. but these are ways they have orders and as orders, they have to follow last a last they face punishment. so for this very moment, i don't think anything will be changing on that front. and we will see how the events unfold and what comes out of this march on moscow, west or put in. we'll try to stop wagner from reaching the outskirts of moscow west or um, there will be some sort of

lot for a bit of perspective on uh from uh, in the european context. joining me now is dw brussels corresponding jack power contract, right. to see, so we've heard from the ukranian president for a lot of years, the landscape out of we haven't heard from him. we saw his that his tweet there on uh, on twitter. but what reactions are we hearing from you are paying countries? is this a really interesting set of reactions that we've had essentially, the overarching message is that, that monitoring closely we've heard that from the friends from the foreign ministry, from the german side, from the british side, from the european union, from policy waiting from the european union kind of so presidential michelle, they just say we're watching close to the monitoring what's going on. they are obviously concerned about the effects that it could have on their own countries that very interested in the effects it could have on the situation of the war in

ukraine. and to that point, we've had a flurry of phone calls between different levels in the political sort of hierarchy . so we know that joe biden held a phone call with a manual micro on the french president. the german chancellor shows the british prime minister richly su not, and we sold the g 7 foreign ministers, including the you foreign policy chief joseph for a have a set of phone calls on and elaina babble. the gentleman from minnesota. all of them saying that holding the phone cause that monitoring close to the now what we've heard from the european union is that they have loans the crisis response unit in the use foreign policy on. so that means a lot of officials from the european union's institutions will have come into the center of brussels into the you quote, and started working to find out exactly what's going on, what they need to know what effects it's going to have on the current situation. as i say on the board and ukraine, but also what potential effects it could have on the, on the countries within the european union. and some of those countries,

because of course there have been trouble warnings to not travel to russia. they've been issued again by countries or germany and the u. k. so essentially do countries in to you and the u. k. do they just not want their citizens to go to russia altogether? so yeah, i mean, a lot of people obviously have not been going to russia. it saves the sauce of this war in ukraine. but how people have continued to do business that awesome businesses the continues, what they're in, they're all, bruce americans, germans, the europeans that are continuing to live. that the question is, what happens now? as we say, we know that the situation is extremely tens on his own folding rapidly, but it appears to be a political tend to bucks in russia. no country a, no government is going to one the right national citizens to be involved in that. lots as wait and see whether it's a clear, a plans or develops on how to do that. i assume the some of the discussions, the,

some of those political leadership to the foreign ministers in the g 7. perhaps even the leaders who were speaking and the, the brace, the germans, the friends and the americans pops david discussing exactly what this means. does that need to be a tongue to withdrawal of a business ties, old personal ties, old personnel ties in russia. right. and i will have to wait and see how that unfolds, the theme, it will follow the developments on the ground 1st before making decisions. but suddenly all of these governments the say, do not go towards the rest of right now. and then jackie are on the ground, obviously in brussels. it's the weekend and you know, often uh, people working there in brussels won't be at, on the job. you said that many of those people have gone into the center. brussels are actually working. now, are we expecting any sort of statements to come in over the course of the weekend, or they type looked at the moment uh, over any type of sort of unified reaction. i don't think we'll expect anything necessarily over the weekend,
