google open i and meta include digital watermarking of a generated content. this is need to be in use from barely and you can get more news on our website at the spain as one of the most progressive country, a world when it comes to gender responsible legislation. the socialist government led by prime minister federal sanchez, clear legal hurdles for trans people, eased abortion limits for young women and was the 1st in europe to introduce paid menstrual leave. but as spain heads to the polls, many fear these achievements might soon be undone. the large parts of the electrode predicted to turn their back on sunshine. the opposition conservatives are likely to lean on the anti feminist, anti eligibility to anti muslim, alter a nationalist box party to push them past the critical threshold. that would work the 1st time the far right would be back in spain's government, since the death of fascist dictator franko nearly 50 years ago. and the confirmation berlin. and this is the day i,

the goodness, the key is the future of spain. and then for our future, i came here to win and to otherwise i would not have come here. i want to be the 1st female prime minister of our country. i want to be the 1st female prime ministers thing for this. and this set of running for office in spain, you should run somewhere else, just to look at the box. this is what pops is, pull up, the spanish politics hate insults and lies from that is why you're going to lose it's the visa elections are not about the next 4 years. they are about the next 8 years. also on the day, poland, those troops to its border with bellow roofs,
12:04 am
after minsk starts military drills with wagner fighters from russia. miss vanya, that we strongly be just all provocations by look of shank and better associate. but we know very well here that we must be vigilant as a whole. i sort of just control above all because the roots and russia are working kind of time because of the d. stabilized poland, to destabilize the eastern part of nato. but welcome to the show spain socialist prime minister pedro sanchez's known for his political gambles . but it looks like his biggest one yet could spectacularly backfire. for the 1st time since spain's transition to democracy the far right could end up in government . as the ultra nationalist locks party emerge as king makers for the opposition. the center i'm people's party have been leaving in the polls, but they're set to fall short of an absolute majority. under recently, the conservatives had promised not to work with box, but now they're looking more and more likely to accept their backing in order to be

able to form of government and 3 spanish regions. the 2 parties are already in coalition, dw, so young philip sholtes, send us this book from valencia, and what could soon be in store for the rest of spain as well. women have come to valencia's regional government building prompted by fury at radical right wing box politicians forming part of the government. the party denies the existence of gender based violence and wants to ban the phrase from valencia's official communications. i mean, of course violence against women exist. you just have to look at the statistics one . how many women have been murdered this year in the, by the i understand it's already more than 50 and we're only halfway through the year. how many i mean the she and the others, the danger, not only for valencia, but for the whole country. they worry that national conservatives could form a coalition with fox to following the regional politicians here regional premier
12:06 am
carlos my zone doesn't want to talk to journalists and fox representatives at all levels to ignore how requests for interviews inside. we asked, depends on why he's made this coalition. later later he says and disappears. we're all additions from box. don't even pretend to want to talk. this is their press chief energy on this. let me see. i know you're not filming this. i'll report you. is the model for the whole of spain. now the parliamentary sitting is the 1st one here for the new coalition. afterwards we find a conservative politician who will talk to us. he's from madrid. you haven't got him gets cancer cation policy, which is so important, and trying to prevent violence against women is in our hand. it will do that. social policy and security policy to protect victims of this violence is also ours . there's no reason to worry steven holiday makers here know about the political
12:07 am
machinations going on in valencia and how they might influence the national picture . it's totally insane. the worst thing that happened to this country, it gives me a bit of hope. the model here in valencia, and would certainly be a good solution for the whole country after the election on july 23rd. i want you to scrap the abortion long. they want to get rid of the youth nation law. they say that violence against women doesn't exist. it all makes me very scared. the fear of the radical right must be turned into anger. says active is common torino. if the valencia model is reproduced in madrid after the election, she says she and the others here will go there to protest. and we can now speak to a lot of most areas. she's a professor of the i you, school of politics, economics and global affairs in madrid. miss missouri,
12:08 am
welcome back to the day. and this election is only being held because the socialist prime minister called snap elections after disappointing regional impulse. is this gamble going to blow up in his face? it's, it just may do so that's what the polls are saying right now the polls seem to be moving in his direction in the direction of the socialist as the days have moved on . but we've got very few days left, so it may be, it may be his, his last gamble. but that's, that's entirely possible this sunday we'll see. let's talk about the potential king makers for the opposition. then the far right box party. how do you explain their rise in popularity as well? you know, it's an interesting, it's an interesting dynamic because um, spain, after its transition to democracy, rama is cause its constitution was really made to support 2 parties. and so pay explain was effectively a $2.00 party system up until about 2014. when put
12:09 am
a most one about 5 seats in the european parliament, 2013 is one box form does a political party. um, but up until that point, the 2 main parties, the popular party or the pay pay is we call them and then the socialist party or the pay. so those 2 parties really had these, these more radical elements within their, you know, big 10 parties, which is a little bit like our, our parties, you know, in the united states. and so now, fox, over the years, um they, they, they finally got some seats and parliament in 2018 and started gaining, gaining ground. and, and, and i think that what we see is as populous right. when parties have success, both in europe and the united states, that, that gives them more encouragement. the kids have more power meant to, to move on and, and, and say, hey wow, we can actually come out and say, these radical things that before were taboo. we can save them because there is a certain percentage of the population that, that agrees with that. so things that's, it's, that, that thing is, is wonderful. and so they become emboldened as time is going on and, and,
12:10 am
and we're seeing that everywhere in spain, it was particularly taboo coming from you know, so many people have that dictatorship, you know, 40 years of dictatorship is in the rear of your people. even my age has memories of children of that and so it's, it's still fresh, it's still new. it's still palpable. but then there are people in spain who, who supported that dictatorship, they still exist. um we see that particularly madrid. the grid is a very conservative capital city, and so that's also where vox has been able to catch a lot of people who felt that the right of center pay paid just wasn't right wing enough for them. they're very, you know, moderate party, much like the socialists are very model are left of center party and that has never been satisfactory for these more radical elements. but many, many conservatives don't. one for precisely the reasons that age is laid out, the popular party to strike a deal with the far right. would they be doing themselves much of a favor by trying to govern at any cost here?
12:11 am
i think i think they'll be making the same gamble that sanchez made in a sense because you know, art sanchez, his socialist party and the put in most was the very 1st governing coalition in spain. and it was difficult and they were brave to, to go down that road. but of course, spain is not used to having a governing in a governing coalition with, with the inviting with the disagreements that are bound to happen. and part of the problem is, of course, as you know, in germany, in other parts of europe, there's lots of coalition governments and they're never gonna agree on everything. and what's more, it is the parties still need to do just to differentiate themselves from each other because they still want to wait in the next lesson and have a message and have a message of why we're a different or different party to vote for. and so what we're going to see with it, if indeed we end up with a pay pay and box coalition there's, there's going to be, there's a lot of disagreement there on the same and more that there,
12:12 am
there were in the last couple weeks and government and and so there's going to be a lot of inviting and, and i think that, um, let me go ahead and has, i'm sorry, i want to get to something because we, we only have about half a minute left. but i want to talk about the international relevance of this, if there really were alerts to the right, what would that mean for spain's role in the world as well? the most important thing is right now is the european union presidency, spain as a really important role to plan that it is called the golden presidency because there's so much that needs to happen during this. i think the most important thing will be how if the paper and box form a coalition will the pay have control over foreign affairs like to pay. so i did within their coalition with put a most and, and truly the pay. so in the pay they have pretty much the same foreign policy. so i, i wrote an article about this real world politics review. i found pretty much 0 daylight between these 2 foreign policy. so as long as the pay can, can prevail over voss,
12:13 am
in terms of foreign policy than spain will probably be, remain more or less the same country to the rest of the world. the problems probably be more internal, but it's hard to say until they actually hammer out an agreement. and i'm sorry, thank you so much for your time. my pleasure. and attack on bella rowse is an attack on russia. a menacing warning and a poland by the russian president, the only problem. nobody and certainly not. poland has any intentions of attacking bella bruce, the threats paired with a baseless accusation of full and having territorial ambitions in the former soviet union comes at the heels of warsaw, sending more units to his border with bella. roofs that move follows reports of russia's wagner, mercenary, gro, training deliveries, and soldiers in the area. people in poland near the border say they could hear shooting and helicopters, or so i had already sent additional forces to boost security at the border with
12:14 am
fellow bruce earlier. this month, opponents prime minister warrant that monitors presence in beller was posing ever increasing threats to poland and nato. may as fits the vanya, the strongly be just all provocations by look of shanker and better associate of the. but we know very well here that we must be vigilant as all of us to. this is controlling above all because the roots and russia are working honda time because of the d. stabilized poland, to the stabilize the eastern part of nato. hold on the eastern part of the european union, but in an attempt to expose our weakness y'all's coast. and for that reason we will respond with the toughness gulf coast and national 5. the student, michelle barnowski, is the managing director of the german marshall fund. easy joins us from washington to night. welcome to the day. now poland sees the military exercise, including wagner troops as a provocation. does warsaw and truly believe there is an acute threat to its security though as well. the thread is getting
12:15 am
higher that we know a buckner strips. i know training includes the russian troops dollars has been part of basically russian dominated military space for a while right on our borders. so the district has certainly increased. we don't yet fully understand what kind of corporation this will be and what kind of threat. wagner struggled post, but it doesn't have to be in my view. it's, i'm likely to be that more conventional large scale operation. but we might face more of the hybrid tactics that we have. ink, i experience in the past from the russian side. all right, can you elaborate on that? what would that be seeks? well, wagner, about next loops are often special forces and they don't really uh,
12:16 am
they don't really follow the rules, the rules of the game, right. what do we have seen it actually over yet? are a going from the, by the russian side was also the use of migrants. that's where brought to those specific e in order to, to be then transferred to, to the russian polish partner. in each the, these would be tactics that could combine a set of small, small operations with and perhaps you then this information, this will, the whole point would be to date, the stabilize the border and, and make the polar side to publish the site. the, the publish armed forces and nervous and therefore would, uh, would, you know, the point would be to get nato's attention on this. on this, on this corner, has responded to the polish employment with threats. obviously, poland is not planning to strike feller roost. so is anyone in warsaw listening age
12:17 am
of legislation at this point? as obviously poland is not planning to strike anyone, a nato is a defensive alliance. paula is only focused on the defense of its borders, yet that matter pro vocation and by, by, by putting a she apparently is trying to take advantage of the very dangerous situation. parssi, and which was the pro cousins community need and try to put the pressure on and on a maple. and i think we should stay pretty serious. the incomes in terms of use and threats, even though even though she of course has directv and alliance before the nato. and the polar side needs to be ready in case that is something fishy and dangerous going on on the butler russian side of the border. so when a flyer in front of kansas, poland,
12:18 am
of having territorial ambitions in the former soviet union, who is this audience here? as i'm smiling because it's really absolutely ridiculous that he makes this kind of accusation while launching a aggressive war against ukraine in order to get to the tauriel conquest and engaged the peaceful neighbor. so this is the, she's arguments, he's domestic, she's audience is, this is, this is a way to start off the keys as society to perhaps she's audience is also in the bellows, or maybe even in ukraine trying to divide a poland ukraine, which are now has close to relations than ever before. but again, do you mean to put to increase turning a total lie, and really portraying keys on that and, and motivations and ambitions and putting this into on the,
12:19 am
on the side of nature country. i mean, this case of, of spalding, this is just a switch that he has used many times before. how keen is alexandra location called the below reason later to be dragged into rushes of mass and be upon in the same? so that's a very good question. i don't think he's very keen at all and he is a someone who has been trying to print to preserves as much of use on a dorothy and as much of the bell russian, somebody, he's losing this game about. bellows is more than more dominated by russia, and it's not only the wagner strips, it's not only progressing and, but it's also the placement of new cars. are web based, understood on the, on the, on the ground in dollars. so steve is playing it's very dangerous game that if she knows she will, she will lose not only uses power,
12:20 am
but have perhaps these lines. anybody in the friends of the right if you put, and i want shift our gaze back to poland. if we look at how nato is responding to russia's invasion of ukraine, what has poems role been? and how do you think it's likely to develop as this board drives on? paula and has been set on the both publish the site in the government, one of the most strong supporters of, of ukraine, both when it comes to, to hosting what a refugee is. but also when he comes to military aid, paul interest passed on over as to how many times and much more and then that other material to ukraine. we understand that ukraine's ukraine is fighting war both for its own 70 insecurity, but also that it's the data and we think you are,
12:21 am
are benefiting it from it are tremendously now there is a parliamentary election coming up in poland and even though across the party lines we have huge, we see huge support uh for, for ukraine, data parties who question that, that support from desktop. right. so i'm a little bit worried about it. i'm not super worried about it yet, but to do watch this space, especially as more a writing parties are quite teams as far as sort of both this upcoming collections michelle barnowski of the german marshall fund. thank you so much for your time. thank you very much. i of the turning degrees now where fire fighters are battling to get wildfire as back under control for the 5th day in a row, firefighters and water. farmers from other european countries are joining the efforts to battle the flames. as temperatures store once more,
12:22 am
dozens of properties have already burned down. our correspondent, i'm in east to if was on the ground near athens as a family font to save their summer camp from the flames. in the hills near the greek coastline, and we followed the fire brigade to a hotspot, water bombing planes, and helicopters of kept the situation under control until now. the regional commander wants to show us the progress they've made. the when we arrive, the situation has changed. another firefighter tells us, the commander can't talk. they have an emergency on their hands. a fire is threatening to spread into a family owned summer camp. it's been evacuated, but the owners are still here helping as much as they can spot of these companies from 1953 and say we have a similar issue that i was very young to them in 1995 and we monitor save the savings. then we help the savings. now we're very optimistic, the mornings dollar we are again the very think francis. they
12:23 am
put out a call for help to the fire service to be pack the flames that are approaching the fence. several water bombers managed directed in the fire smolders 3 or 4 times, we've seen the fire simmer down because of the water being dumped from the sky within 3 or 4 times. the fire re kindled and we've seen them go back out it with hoses and even buckets of water. some of the firefighters have been working through the night in the morning and are exhausted. finally, the commander says he can speak to us because the flames are once again dying down as long as they were trying to secure this camp here. and we're doing everything we kind of, i don't, and for now we're monitoring. that's cool. that's good. but then there's a sudden commotion inside the gates. the camp fire has spread around the back in just seconds. the hope that prevailed has turned to panic. a wall of flames is coming in on
12:24 am
a new front where they weren't prepared the, the heat is palpable and so was the sense of danger. the owners look on and disbelief and then make a last attempt to save the tents that welcome summer campers for generations then, just like that, it's all over the fire barrels down the 3rd side of the property, moving a 100 meters and 10 or 20 seconds. the campus all but surrounded with only one way out. back to the parking lot as fast as possible. so it looks like they've lost control of the fire here. they're asking everybody to
12:25 am
evacuate immediately. the family that braved the wildfires all morning has lost the flights and grief sets in front of the we couldn't do anything. it meant a lot of us and it means us, i don't want to visit the past that we've been searching about this. it was all here 20 minutes ago and now and believably, it's gone. but everyone survived in with them the blueprints for how to rebuild the island here in berlin. many people are breathing a sigh of relief and probably also having a good laugh after authorities called off the search for a lie. and it's on the list. well, at least that is what everyone's thought it was to begin with. but after

a 36 hour hunt, it now seems to suspect captured on video was instead one of the areas more common inhabitants. so when is it linus, north carolina? when it's simple, the short video was it 1st believed to show a lie in s on the loose. it caused quite the stair in clyde mac. no. i usually quiet municipality just outside of balance. police hunters invent set off with a big cat tom through the forest. ultimately though, it appears to have all been wild goose chase. the matter of climate control might have somewhat sheepish announcement a sunday to see missed. it's not a lie nash or a similar while donovan is on this some evidence. that means we can be fairly certain on the animal in the picture is a wild for each one can do it. he said that the search is now cooled off after further analysis of the footage. having looked more closely at the shape of the
