soldiers reached their location. the promo we understand that happened either yesterday or the day before. so just recently, and this of the may be the most important thing is that they were covered from underground tunnel 20 meters underground. and it was only one kilometer away from the location that the on the last tuesday and the audio soldier towns and the a lloyd hostage for 100. the probably uh, so that they might be no connection between the 2. but apparently the soldiers are operating in that area, and after almost as militants understood that they were there, that they managed actually to recover or to bring back what a hostage a life they have decided to kill the others. this is the result that we're having.

so 6 of these, um, um, so the 6 of the hostages were killed should evening by the way, our human interior and the human to 3 categories that were supposed to be released in case of a 1st to stage deal. that is, be discussed right now. you mentioned that it's a hard morning and israel can you tell us more about reactions to these developments and if there's been some sort of official reaction from these really government and so now we don't have any official directions on these really government department is often just a few minutes ago said that the prime minister will um, uh, put out the statements or announcements in the coming get our but we still don't have it from the other side of the the aisle, the political aisle. the opposition is already and believe me, nothing y'all for jeopardizing hostage deal and leaving him for these results. also

the uh is ready. the president has said that he is sorry, or he apologized for the families because his rad wasn't able to bring back their loved ones, a life underscore the founders of the hostages. for with um, seeing what they put out the just a day, a lot of rage, a lot of anger toward the government to i've been doing nothing else specifically saying this morning, but he should take responsibility for what happens. that was the journalist vollings levine reporting from tel aviv many thanks. indeed, we appreciate it. thank it's all right, let's turn our attention now to germany where voting has begun and regional elections at could see a far right party when the most seed since world war 2. the a f. d, or alternative for germany is projected to make big gains in the eastern states of saxony entering gm, the parties regional branches. there are classified as right wing extremist bind,

germany's intelligence agency, the mainstream conservatives, and a new far left populous party could also see a strong showing. chancellor, all of shows of governing social democrats were pulling squarely ahead of the vote . well the rise of the far right is causing alarm in the east and other parts of germany. enter into sound, the 3000 anti amc and anti fluoride protesters to the street to the regional capital air for it on saturday. pronouncing the far right populace a threat to germany's democracy, the demonstrators marched through the city center to the main cathedral square where the de, how the final rally before the election. and for some analysis on today's regional elections and eastern germany, i'm joined in the studio of id w political correspondent, hunts brown tons. good to see you. so tell us what is driving the appeal of
9:07 am
these anti establishment far right and far left parties. i think there's one issue that is at the core of their appeal and that has migration or rather that opposition to migration. uh, especially in eastern germany. but this is obviously an issue that is also a problem and then to the elsewhere in europe and elsewhere in the world, especially since germany took in a lot of the migraines, the hundreds of thousands from syria. and i've gotten this done in recent years. so that's something both of these party support. oh, rather that they are against, and they also share a sympathy for russia and strangely enough, in other words, they feel that the war and ukraine should end as quickly as possible, even if that means giving into russia and uh, the anti establishment. a core of things that also plays a role the fact that they are against the established parties in berlin, which in large parts of east germany as seen as unreliable and weak to well,
9:08 am
we do have to remember that these are state elections and state parliaments don't really have a say in foreign policy in germany, that's what the federal government decides. but if the far right, if the does have a strong showing, what could that mean on a federal level? but we have to see that the f d, as in fact present, represented an old regional problem and 16 of them in germany and also in the central parliament and abundance talk to. so it is very present also on the federal level, but it has never been the strongest party in a single federal states in germany. and that is potentially possible in these elections today. that would mean that all the other parties more or less, would have to get together to prevent the a, if the, from forming a government in that state, it's likely to be feeling. yeah. which sees new coalitions that we have never seen in germany. and it's in the end it will have effects in central german politics and federal politics as a whole because it's basically we can see established policies and needs to forces

them to go into compromises that they haven't entered into before. now, honda, i'd like to ask you about this new zach of voc and connect alliance to b, s w, the founder of this, the lines that of items next calls herself a less conservative. but what exactly does that mean? yes, i think uh, you know, what is really notable about her alliance is set to, it's very basic, the policy based on her personality on her, on over the next to self. she's from the east. so she gives the people their feeling of speaking from the hearts of understanding of their concerns. she is a conservative communist in the sense that she's supposed to kind of authoritarian form of communism. one might say she even supported starlen or some visuals that started until in have been her past um,
9:10 am
and no pod from the issues that doctors mentioned, the migration and russia. she does not support it for the social measures such as increasing pensions and so on. but in the end to, to a person. now that's the, that's driving the appeal for her party. and the social democrats, the party of chancellor, all of charles b, s p d, they're looking like they may see their worst a result in history. what's behind that? well, the established parties are not well established in the east of germany that don't have the root of structures that don't have a large number of members. so they haven't really, since the unification of germany 50 years ago, established themselves well in the parts of germany. and now they are basically saying that the voters are turning away from then, possibly because of the bickering that's been going on in gym and government and coalition, between the social democrats, the greens and the marketable free democrats. that's been forming
