marietta and stain. welcome king philippe and queen latifah of spain. as well as prime minister pen throw, sanchez, have cut short a visit to the flood reg, province of valencia and anger over the slow government response to last week's disaster. hit a climax today enraged by late warnings and the late assistance of spain's of worse flash flooding. in decades, furies crowds hurled mont and insults at the royal's security. struggle to maintain order, the death toll from the natural disaster has risen again to 217. the emergency campaign is now switching to a recovery effort, as hopes of finding survivors fades, but a severe weather warning a quarter of parts of the region is hindering operations with more intense rain forecast. hundreds of people are set to be missing. here's more from the spanish minister for it territorial policy. no problem. i've heard about the somebody's
6:02 pm
here. we cannot give exact figures from the number of missing people that we would also. we have to be absolutely rigorous. it's clear that we already have a very high number of people that deal and in that regard him office, we will inform you once the necessary work is completed through official channels on the 15th. and we can now speak to a journalist guy hes go who joins us from madrid. so some really dramatic scenes from earlier today, those angry residents throwing mud at the spanish royals and their entourage, including the prime minister. what more can you tell us about the situation as well? this was old during a visit by the king, the prime minister, and the leader of the regional governments to a town called pipe port style, which is near the city of valencia and put forth a scene is really the worst hit single area from these floods. to the town which has already confirmed the move and 60 of its inhabitants have been killed. many

more, a still missing and we sold people that who are extremely angry and they directed, designed as a king at the prime minister and the regional leader. now the uh, the prime minister federal centers did end up leaving the saying quite soon, he was taken away by security details. people were shouting at him. i'm the king and carlos my song originally that it was shouting assumptions, killers that were shouting other things which are much more offensive as well. the prime minister federal sanchez was taken away in his call, the king king philippe. it stayed. he tried to engage with some of the people who were in the crowds to ask some of those who were yelling out to be tried to reason with him. but the mazda was being thrown at him and also it's carlos in my soul. and the regional leader, eventually the king left the scene and site 2 dates missed the my phone as well. we also just heard that clip from a local minister saying that authorities don't know how many people are still
6:04 pm
missing. so how is this possible? well, i mean, that reflects the details that has been caused by these floods. i mean, it really does seem to be unprecedented in that sense, because although we have this extremely high dest toll which keeps increasing day off the day, there was still at least thousands of people who are missing. a lot of that seems to have to do with the fact that many of the people who were killed was cold and that cause they were in traffic, or they will either returning from work or other places when the floods hit them. and they really weren't expecting it. and many calls was pushed along by the flood waters turned over, rolled over, pushed into piles, and already lots of bodies are being pulled from causes and most of the situations . but it is believed that there are many more people who are in other calls in areas which are more difficult to get to calls, which are more difficult to get to. that's one of the situation,
6:05 pm
but they're all the people who believe to be in the model and among the the, the daybreak and the detritus which was generated by these enormous floods as well . that was journal is guy hedge. go in madrid, guy, thank you so much for your reporting. we appreciate it. you will. the raise for the white house is in the home stretch on the last weekends before tuesdays presidential election. the 2 candidates have been making their last appeals to voters. they're focusing on the swing states that could determine who will become the next president of the united states. vice president and democratic candidate come to a harris was of georgia and north carolina where she renewed her pledge to be a president for all americans to she later fluid to new york, making a surprise appearance on the tv show. saturday night live where she says she would end up in drama and us politics world go to polling suggests the race is neck and

neck with former president donald trump. he was also campaigning and pennsylvania for his par trunk, promised to crack down on migration and con taxes. i want to see, oh, let's go to jail. it's a terrible thing. i'm joined now by justin higgins. he is a strategic communications consultant and has worked in the past for both the democratic politicians and for the republican presidential campaign in 2016. so welcome to the w. now very much for having me. just what lessons could we learn from previous presidential elections and which of these lessons do you think are being applied in this campaign? from the viewers. i think we can learn that we may not know the result tuesday night in the united states or even wednesday morning. and each of the campaigns has
6:07 pm
learned a very different lesson. so in 2020 is all viewers. no. trump was maligning early voting and male in voting as being fraudulent. so that depressed republican voters in that regard. this year they spend 50 a $150000000.00 to try and get out the early vote and mailing vote by republicans. conversely, on the harris campaign, which was the binding campaign 2020, i did not focus on the ground game during the pandemic. so this year around they've learned and they've poured in hundreds of millions of dollars into going out knocking doors, doing phone bank and reaching voters and people on an interpersonal level to give them the information to go out. and also to try and persuade them to go out. or can you also talk about how each of the candidates are tailoring their messages for their specific target groups? yes. so for v p harris to win this election by frankly,
6:08 pm
she is going to need a elderly motor senior citizens, college educated voters, and an overwhelming search from women voters. she's been doing this through focusing on the economy and how she would be better, but also a large focus of her campaign has been on women's rights. and specifically here in the united states, abortion is a big issue. and so she has made a very sharp contrast to trunk and she's also promoted democracy and being a status quote candidate of sorts which this a many in this country valley. now trump and the other end. hughes used progressive rhetoric. 7 targeting mean we white now male voters with low information, so they don't follow the news. and they don't vote that often. he's also trying to win over some more of black and hispanic men who are younger. so his rhetoric has been about how the government is corrupt about how the united states is in
6:09 pm
a bad position and about how his opponents are basically as and so he's been trying to play on their anger to get them out. i also am wondering about the techniques to engage the younger voters. what types of innovative strategies have the campaigns been using to appeal to this demographic? a yes, so this was a big concern for the democrats, specifically with tick tock being chinese stone company. and also you own mosque taking over social media, mark, soccer, burger, facebook, uh, kind of staying out of the election. so there were major concerns about social media algorithms. but the democrats have been breaking through on the social media apps to reach these voters. and one way that they have been doing this is a very weight and very robust serge from celebrities across the board of both your white male white female hispanic black and brown celebrities have been going
6:10 pm
out there in that has been creating viral moments on social media which has been very, very important for democrats to break through these opposition. basically controlled platforms. uh, the republicans. on the other hand, they have kind of stayed true to their messaging to older white male voters. they have relied heavily on you, on mosque, on twitter. they've also relied on some influencers online on tick tock up, but quite frankly, their messaging has not broken through. the last thing i'd like to add on this is they thought israel, palestine in the campus protests that we saw across the united states would be enough to swing young voters to their party. but their party platform is not offering these young voters anything. so that message has largely fallen on deaf ears. and are there any ethical concerns that you see arising from the current campaign strategies and, you know, particularly around misinformation?
6:11 pm
i mean, there's always misinformation in united states elections. there had been going back to george w bush's 1st election when there were some nasty rumors reading the primary in south carolina. so unfortunately, politics is, in many cases, a 0 sum game. and of course they're on ethical issues going on. what i'm most concerned about is the message coming out of the trunk campaign. they are seeing momentum for harris. they are seeing a lot of poll swing towards hairs. so they are beginning to see the ground for the message that this election was legitimate. i think that is wholly unconstitutional . it is against the spirit of democracy and it also is the 1st type of step you take to see violence after an election that you lose. so while there may be things going on that um are meeting the eye of the media, this is by far
6:12 pm
a critical and potentially x a central threat that everybody should be watching. how does each campaign handle a potential election loss? and is one campaign or the other trying to stover their supporters to prepare for violence. that was just in the higgins, strategic communication consultant. just and thank you for your insights. really interesting stuff. are turning now to some other news and illegals. legends is one of the most popular video games in the world with over 100000000 players. south korean team t one are the top of the pile after winning the world championships in london, they've retained the titles thanks to the quick fingers of superstar game or a it's one of the biggest events in gaming. think of it like a world cup final. here at the league of legends, well championships all the world says it's unknown to teams of 5 go head to head to be the 1st to destroy the opponents base. and it was the chinese team, b o g,
