$108.00 to $1.00 passages and crew were on board the flight from bun cops, vonny to map fault, including at least 2 tie nationals. among the many dozens of south koreans under, i spoke to south korean journalist jen moon, who was at the size of the crash about what she had been seeing. the i'm here at lou on international airport in south charlotte province, which is about $280.00, a kilometers south of the south creek capital sold hours after the crash. right now, i'm seeing more to reveal goals lining up to take bodies away. and authorities are telling me the temporary morgue has been established. the crash site i can tell you smells a lot of aviation fuel. i'm seeing a lot of workers into protective suits and masks who are coming the area while soldiers are searching. the shock on as the,

as the crash happened to place early and sunday morning. so roughly about 8 hours ago the sunday morning. and this is the plane crash, which is the one of the deadliest playing crashes in south korean aviation history so far couldn't come that a worst time. as this nation goes through a political chaos with a president impeached about a few weeks ago, followed by the peace rid of the, the acting president, been active party president for is the prime minister. and now in power, is it another acting president who is a 3rd in line, the vice prime minister of this country? he has declared at the zone a disaster special disaster zone. he was here um to look at the site and to uh, to support the brewery families. i'm also see lots of, um, that family members rushing to this site to identify bodies or in hopes of

finding their loved ones who were on board to have survived. but stories are telling me that hopes are feeding, and it's very slim right now of any kind of recovery. software engine this jen moons. thank you for giving us that update. thanks as of questions remain as to what could have caused this plane crash in south korea. i aust richard levy innovation expert in texas for his analysis. i see 2 things. one delaney gear is retracted and it appears as natural as you see that the flash are retracted. also, the reason i bring that up is because the airplane is traveling very fast. on the runaway again, the year comes off of $100.00 system on the left side. and there's news
11:06 am
reports that the left engine had been on fire or had some names coming out of it. the landing gear is extended from power from the left engine. however, there's a backup system in the truck and in the flight deck that you have cables handles you pool and you can extend the 90 gear. so that's a mystery to me of why even with an engine malfunction. why the crew do that manually extend the landing gear, the other how drug system extends the flaps. the flaps come out of the wings. what's the advantage of the flaps? it helps you name and it's so speed. as you can see in the video, they're going at a very fast speed on your runway without the flats extended without the landing gear extended. now i could see the reverse stresses working. that's a different system also. and they either in the or crash into a concrete barrier at the end of the runway. right,
11:07 am
so just wondering what i mean that we've had different reports, but the, the ceo of this airline ginger line is suggesting there was no plane malfunction. can we attain that at this stage that there wasn't a malfunction with getting the the landing gear out? i said, no, of course it is too early to recover what's called the black boxes. that's the type of voice recorder. they'll get the conversations of the 2 pilots and the uh, site data recorder, which records all the movements of the controls and switches in the tactic. so they'll put this together, but i don't see a malfunction. of course, it is not normal to reply in the airplane without the name and your extend it even if there had been a malfunction with the engine, i'm not saying we've been very easy. but in training,
11:08 am
and i'm an instructor on this aircraft with a major airline in the united states. we do give engine malfunctions and the crew would it possible execute a go around and then extend the 90 gear or circle around and then extend the name of your manually. i happen to respectfully disagree. there is a major malfunction right here. they have been suggestions of a possible bud strike combat affect the landing gear to that i read that also tommy and i find that not impossible but nearly impossible. bread strikes to happen at low altitude during takeoff and landing, and that the birds were hidden in june or hit and or hit the wings. so it could be the source of the nation fire engine malfunction. but the airplane can safely be
11:09 am
slow and after a bird strike, affecting if it, the bird strikes would affect the naming gear. i don't see that is a possibility, nothing is impossible. again, it's too early to say that. and if a bird strikes birds did strength to get the engine and know that the engine fails . if that's the case, you can still main. we extend the name of gear from the plaintext. this is 873-7800. extremely reliable airplane with a very, very good safety record that was former files and aviation ex bed which and meaning talking to us from dallas, texas in the us. now let's check in on some of the stories making headlines. russian president vladimir putin has apologized for what he called a tragic incident in russian ass space that led to the downing off as a vi johnny passenger played put in told as a by john's leader that russian ad defenses were active before the plane crashing

but she says she will vacate the presidential palace. and there i spoke to dw reports on your call in the parliament and of lucy. and i also what mikko cover last, really said, jerry and his integration speech well, interestingly, he focused on what he calls for additional penalties and traditional kennedy values . saying that family is at the core of jobs and society. and i should probably remind her of us that this comes just a couple of weeks of after the implementation of a so called on t eligibility to propaganda law. and all of that is as to governments, this meant to string some traditional family values in georgia. but the career community, of course, feels that there's a lot rather aimed at targeting their ways of living. so tell us more about

this, this new president and why he's considered so controversial overall. when you go out on the streets of publicity and ask people about the president, the 1st thing they will tell you is he used to be a soccer player. why is that important? because it's something that makes a, please, the pro european demonstrate this angry because they feel that this is basically his only qualification. and they say that, listen, the president would have at least higher education because it was really high. so as a political experience, he has been a member of the georgian column and since 2016 as a member of the ruling georgia dream party. he is also in no member though all of the far right political movements and movement that is known for onto western and own kremlin friendly arithmetic. and just a few days ago, he thought that the toner rice ation in georgia is being fueled from the garage

without specifying its of the outgoing presence alone. that sort of basically is standing around. she refuses to step down. what do expect to happen next? well, there is an ongoing controversy, a controversy about if there's a president the new president was admitted to next the way the outgoing president, as i've been severely c said, she says during the election. so off the parliament that has been like best a mess of fraud. so she says that the parliament is not legitimate. and then she says, the president cannot see legitimate. so she says she refuses to step down and she wants to stay in office because she says she's the only legitimate figure in charge i at the moment she has a softly spoken to her supporters and she has set she is. she will leave the president of the palace. this was something that was not quite clear. there were rumors about her refusing to leave the palace. so she said she released the palace,
11:14 am
but she said she's not leaving office. and she said, as he's not president, because she is in the presidential palace, she says, the president say, comes with the trust. and she feels that the trust of the judge in people is with her report to nicole into placing. thank you. and here's a reminder of our top story. southcourt and authorities are investigating the was ation disaster in the country. nearly all of the 181 people on board those years you and slide died when it slid off the runway at one international. and apple thank you for watching. coming up next. slide. jeremy's corner stores serve as neighborhood social helps that's on reporter. after the break is money is a d, w. com. i am totally on logical. thank you for being with us, the
