grads. when you help me work through the starting with number five. >> of premier business school in massachusetts. regularly known for entrepreneurial success of graduates. they range really well, $120,000. gerri: 59,000 for just enough, which is good. >> very good. gerri: the institute of technology. is this a bunch -- what are these people doing for a living? >> this is an engineering school. people who are going to various engineering fields as well as computer scientists of re-engineering. fields that they really what and are in demand with today's economy. for which. gerri: california institute of technology, working their way up the list. it sounds like more engineers. >> exactly. that is a recurring theme of the top of the pay scale. gerri: and we have the united

states naval economy. now, why i they high-paying? >> it turns out that the institution is similar to army. prepare you with a lot of skills of a valuable. the, security protocol. those all lead the naturally into management roles. gerri: that is interesting. and never would have put that together, but it makes sense. somewhere i have never heard of, the harvey mudd college. because i've never even heard of. >> we call it a little college that could. southern california. and it is a premier engineering liberal arts school. kind of special in that vein. philip engineering and with the liberal arts structure. the majority of programs that they offer there are engineering, computer science, some of the heart of this bill sciences. a recurring theme that there the ones that bring the biggest paycheck home. gerri: well, and i think that is really the takeaway here.

although, let me mention something that is funny. here we have the top five. the princeton, no harvard, no yale. where did they rent? >> still in the top of the list. roughly the top 20. the only reason that they are slightly lower is they do not have as strong of a sense. there are a lot of people go to the ivy league and major in english are various communications are social sciences which tend not to do as well in terms of paychecks. gerri: since we had that been going here, we decided to also look at highest earning majors and we will work this backwards. it is engineering and math. starting with aerospace. >> that's right. the top 20, 19 of the top 20 majors are still in fields. the only one on bought his government. but other than that it is all stem. gerri: two of want to ask? government is higher earnings. are you kidding? >> i know. it is interesting. it is. we looked at a lot of the jobs to people said there were

gerri: united states postal service is cash strapped. they have already defaulted twice last year on them as they go to the federal government and are looking to cut costs. one we are doing so is by soliciting federal contract aids telly's minivans and cargo vans. here with more is policy director public notice. this is just funny. i am sorry. these people cannot get it right. what is the problem? let me tell you something funny. they are paying $31,000. find dozens of them. why would they do that?

you know, i think you have to think about the solution. and one of the reasons congresses are reluctant to do anything is a lot of the postal carriers are people who vote. there reluctance to do anything to make them angry. was a solution to this problem? >> getting the congress out of the business of running post offices. not just people that work for the post office vote. it's a lot of these small and remote towns like having the post office in their area. a you know, we have to face the facts. losing millions a day. this is an unsustainable business model. we cannot keep on doing the same thing which is what they're doing right now. gerri: to what degree did they have:00 on taxpayer go? they're supposed to operate like a business. at what point and they say we need some money. >> remember fannie and freddie. they were cause i government entity. we were never supposed above amount. the postal service's setting

♪ gerri: well, forget your $5 ft longs. a glitch on the united airlines said it was selling some of its tickets for the same price as a subway sandwich. unbelievable. joining me now, ceo of fare compare. that does not happen very often. does it? >> it does not. and the five or six years ago it used to, but they have gotten a lot better at catching these errors. today a lot of people but five and $10 tickets on united during the lunch hour time, mainly because they had a glitch where they were only charging the

september 11 security fee on tickets on many routes. so the question now is, will they honor them. sometimes when you have these glitches they try not to honor them, but they're is new ruling of the says, as long as you get your ticket, they send you your ticket, they cannot increase the price afterwards. we will have to see what happens in the coming days. gerri: some people were actually able to buy them. the website is fixed. don't go thinking you will get up $5 ticket because it is not there anymore. but that is pretty amazing. >> a good reason to watch twitter. the split up like crazy. so a lot of people were able to sneak in and get those. one guy bought 12 tickets from washington d.c. to honolulu. gerri: all right. i have to talk to you about this thing we book fox business. my husband is 6-foot 3 inches. always looking for big seats. we have to have some leg room. some airlines out there right now who are advertising for
