span of only one hour. president obama delivering his year and news conference to the white house press corps end of his annual chrtmas vacation in hawaii. and on one point he even contradicted himself on the numbers in the same sentence. take a listen. >> more than half a million american several through health care and the first three weeks of december quantify since october 1st more than 1 million americans have selected new health-insurance plans tohe federal and state marketplaces. so all told, millions of americans, despite the problems of the website, are now poised to be covered by quality, affordable health insurance come here stake. i now have a couple of million peop, maybe more who even have health care on january 1st. and that is a big deal. we have got sever milon people we going to have healt care that works. the first month ana half or

lost because of problems of the website and about as bad a bunch ofublicity as you could imagine. and yet you still have got 2 million people signed up. lou: there is a man who needs that vacation. so which is it? in reality, the department of health and human services will confirm only 3,000 successful enrollees to this point. december numbers have not yet been reased, but it is widely expected to fall well short of projection of 3 million enrollees by the end of this year. the white house would have to successfully enroll just under 3 million more people this month or simplyut, they have to match the month of october total number of successful and romans each and every single day in this month. the proficiency to add that many new enrollees may be

encumbering. t the failings of the health care website. hhs spends the website can handle up to 800,000 visitors per day, but not today. administrators took this site offline unexpectedly to repair an error that occurred overnight. leaving those americans seeking a new plan unabl to enroll just three days before the deadline to sign up for coverage, january 1st. this all coming after the obama administration's latest change to the health care law. e obama administration last night suddenly aounced a hardsh exemption from penalties for tse who have their health care plans canceled , allowing people to buy a bare bones, catastrophic plan that, of course paul was previously restricted to those under the age of 30. in essen, millions of americans is on their insurance plans canceled because there

were deemed inadequate under obamacare are now allowed to replace those canceled plans with something even more inadequate and more bare bones. by some accounts the obama administration making its 23rd change to obamacare, to the law, the affordae care act without a congressional vote on a single amendment. this comes as and other top federal technologg official warns that a high security risks have been discored on the obamacare website in just recent weeks. chief information's security officer at cms telling congressional investitors thaa she recommended against launching the website because of high risks and exposure to cyber attacks. the warnings came just ten days before the launch and challenged hhs secretary kathleen sibila as to has insisted throughout that
