comment? >> two stories here, number one, it shows that this year, we're going to rely increasingly upon the health of the foreign economy, chinese being one and japan the other and europe. we're going to need them to stay healthy and continue to buy our bond so we can continue our growth. stuart, why is everybody mad about the fact, how does the treasury let that out a day before it's supposed to come out. there's two stories here and i'm worried about the second one as well. stuart: we've got you, scott. get to that opening bell and we're down 14 points after 17 seconds worth of business. the dow at 16,-- >> what bothers a lot of people, our debt, the leverage it gifts to foreigners and the interest payments we give to china and japan. what do you make of this?

>> as much as we talk about america's success, if we want to you can is seed -- to succeesucceed, we better hopy keep buying. stuart: it doesn't affect our markets immediately, right, keith? >> that's correct, this is an economic, fundamental issue, not necessarily a market issue, so if you can recognize the two, it's the more they spend, the better off we are. stuart: it's a political issue, too, to some agree. i've got corporate stuff to deal with, weak sales in the all important holiday season for best buy. down it goes. nicole, how bad? >> wow, this is a tough day for best buy shareholders. it's down almost 31%, they started a heavy promotional environment on black friday that continued right into the holiday season to try and compete against names like wal-mart. it did not do well for them. on-line was the one bright spot for best buy, but obviously, and also tight supplies,

another thing they spoke about for best buy. >> ouch. >> just like that. and profits down and goldman sachs made 2 1/4 billion dollars profit in the last quarter of last year. and where did goldman >> not even 1/2 of a percent to the down side. and bonds is their weakness and that's usually a source of gains for them, but not this round. fixed incomes and commodities and that dropped 15% and they reported a 21% drop in quarterly profit. and some of the other guys actually did well in those areas. >> i've got more big names, marisa mayors first hire is out at yahoo! the stock is down nearly 2%. keith fitz-gerald, are you buying yahoo!? >> no, i'm not. i think they have problems. i like what marisa mayors is

doing, i wonder if it's her and her direction or yahoo! itself. stuart: j.c. penney is closing 33 stores, they're trying to stop the bleeding. usually moves like this help a company's stock. is that right, keith? would you buy this stock? >> usually it does, it's iconic brand and actively looking to short it, i think it's dead on arrival. stuart: the danger that j.c. penney works away from retailing. >> i don't think it's here in five years. stuart: facebook losing cool with some youngsters, we've heard this story before. according to a new report, 11 million youngsters have abandoned facebook since 2011. sandra smith is here, do you think that's a big problem for facebook? >> let's be sure here to point out that investors have not-- don't think that facebook lost its cool. the stock is up 82% since it went public. these numbers if true, because these are not facebook numbers, but taken from the advertising platform on the site, could be

devastating for facebook. not only the 13 to 17 range has lost a quarter of users over the past three years, but college students, down 59% over the same period. high school students down 59%. who's on it and who has grown the demographic? it's mom and dad and grandma and grandpa. >> hold on a second. mom and dad and granddad and grand pop. here's the ones with the money. teenagers don't have money. >> teenagers have lots of money and they spend lots of your money, stuart. come on, you have six kids and you know they're out there spending the money and the advertisers want the younger demographic and right now they're leaving. >> there's no need to get personnel. hold on a second. another social network also may be losing its cool. snap chat, and here is why. senator rand paul announcing he's joined the snap chat community. in part because he doesn't want the nsa to have access to his posts. i don't think that's-- >> look who is joining snap

they've been pressing on wages, on benefits and easier for them to organize the union. wal-mart responded and said bring it on. you can't expect the workers to come and go as they please which they were during the protests and not be held for it. >> as i said earlier, this is a politicized move against wal-mart. the nlrb is highly political. they're very much pro labor. we could have expected this. it could damage wal-mart, you think? all right, we'll see. this is from the other side of the fence, amazon. workers there, a very small number of workers, in a warehouse, voted to reject an initiative to form a union. keith fitz-gerald, what's your comment on that one? >> good, i don't think they should. amazon is a capitalist thing and money is going where it's traded best, they don't want that in their house. stuart: you're such a conservative, i'm surprised you live in oregon, it's extraordinary. are there any other

conservatives in oregon? a couple bopping around there. >> maybe mai'm the only one, i don't know. stuart: and amazon, we know they're working on projects, delivery drones, got that. vending machine for the kindle e-reader. but there are reports that amazon has a brand new product coming down the pipe one they're calling bigger than the kindle. who better to look at this than the editor and chief mark spoonhour. what have they got? >> could have a few things up their sleeves, couple of things we're hearing, the smart phone for amazon kind of deliverying products at chief prices. if you're a prime member today. you can get cop tent for free. and the carriers, they worry more about growth than profit a and--

>> that's a possibility for a smart phone? >> yes. stuart: and they could feed their content to you on their smart phone. >> and also make it easy to shop for stuff on their smart phone. stuart: of course, another extension into the hardware arena. >> that's right. stuart: possibility number two? >> think of a set top box that could compete with apple tv and r row-- roku. they're creating their own content and tv studio similar to what netflix is doing. imagine that coming into your home and competing against the likes of apple tv or roku. if they're smart they'll find other ways. let's say they're watching live tv and seeing something you like. adding something to the wish list so everyone knows about it or buy it from the couch. if anyone can do it, they can. stuart: that's fascinating. from a business standpoint because that puts them into the living room and makes it easy for you to take the content and buy through them. i got that. from a personal standpoint does

this mean a set top box with one remote? >> i hope so. stuart: so do i. >> i'd love to see some live tv pass through. xbox is doing it today because they're combining the games with live tv. so i think that amazon could do something like this, too. stuart: how secure are you in making this speculation about a smart phone and a set top box? >> i think they're both fairly likely for 2014 because a lot of hires they've made the last couple of years, they've hired people away from windows phone, from palm and other places like that and doing that for a reason and it's not just to bolster their tablet business. one last juicy bit of gossip from cbs and one saw a son aman person around a glass competitor. the way they can consume content wearing video goggles on the plane or train and feeding amazon content to your retina. something they could explore

and let me see if i've got this right. i can go on google maps, i look at a hotel, they give me a 360 complete round view of the hotel room i'm thinking of. then i can go to google wallet and book that hotel room. that's a nightmare for hotel.com. that's a-- >> and how huge the travel industry is. expedia inc. is the parent company to hotel.com is the largest global travel agency in the world and yet we only make up 3%, just 3% of the 1 trillion dollars travel industry space so there's so much room for players to grow. i think that's the first important thing. stuart: that's a very honest admission. that's very honest. i was expecting you to say, no, no, google, we don't care, but that's very good. make your second point. go. >> okay.

the second thing i say is content is obviously important when people decide where to book a hotel room. i travel, you travel. i'm sure the viewers travel. we want to know as much as possible about a hotel where you get there. nobody likes a nasty surprise, right? so photos are definitely important and we have high quality photos on hotels.com and we actually just released an updated iphone and ipad app, almost exclusively featuring high fault photography, but you know, stuart, it's not just photos that are important, guest reviews, guest reviews are super, super important to people and what i say about hotels.com is that we have over 10 million verified guest reviews and that word verified is really important. so, what that means. stuart: how do you verify is. how do you verify? >> it's a great question. so, a customer actually has to book their hotel through hotels.com, they actually have to stay at the hotel and then after their stay is completed,

we e-mail them a specific link to leave a review for that hotel. they can't just come to hotels.com and leave a review for any hotel, you actually have to stay there. just another piece of content. >> i would have thought that the principal storm of competition is price. i mean, you can compete on price, i take it? >> oh, definitely. so, price is really important, but something that, you know, often working in the travel industry and family and friends say what tips can you give us on getting great deal and travel. price obviously matters and you have to be competitive on price, which hotels.com is. but other things matter. too. so we have a loyalty program called welcome rewards and my husband always jokes at a cocktail party, i've become a walking advertisement for welcome rewards for hotels.com. it's the best in the industry.

all starting with a documentary. that film exposes not only mistreatment of animals, according to the movie, but an unsafe and even deadly work force. one worker was killed by one of the whales. elizabeth macdonald is here with exclusive information on this. first up, the feds, seems like they are going after sea world. >> yeah, that's right. osha is saying unsafe working conditions for employees at sea world. sea world is battling osha in federal appeals court right now and court documents that fox business has obtained show that basically what sea world is telling the trouble about its whales not being aggressive, that its whales not, basically putting the workers in unsafe conditions, that's what sea world is also telling fox business. these documents show this, that the whales, including tilikum, the one that killed this

worker, sometimes lunging towards control trainer. and that's six months before the trainer was killed. stuart: so they are defending against is attack from this movie from animal rights activists as well. now, the ceo claims that that movie, i think it's called "black fish" is that right? >> yes. stuart: he says look, it's an activist movie. that's all it is. it looks like the guy is in damage control, isn't he? >> yes, this is a classic story how does a company handle a hit to its brand. they say it's unfair, it's slanted and we rehabilitate animals, 23,000 last year and doing the while trainer shows for decades. here is what's at issue, osha says you cannot train out of a killer whale its predatory instincts. so that it's still not hitting the stock. the stock is up in trading day. >> it's a publicly traded stock. i think it's up today. whoo ill--

you have high unemployment which has consistently been in double digits since the president took office. at the same time, you have black americans, as you know, voted for the president over 90% both times. what do they get out of it? we have immigration. all of these things do not really affect the prosperity of black americans. i think blacks are scratching their heads. stuart: i do not think you thats will jump ship and suddenly stop voting republican. you are a conservative. i think the best you can hope for is african americans stay home. they do not vote. >> no. i believe in the constitution.
