believes that racism is partly to blame for his low job approval numbers and his high disapproval numbers, not benghazi, or the irs targeting of conservatives, operation "fast and furious," department of justice surveillance of reporters or the jobless economic recovery. when asked about his decline in the polls, president said quote, there is no doubt that some folks who just really dislike me because they don't like the idea of a black president. there is a historic connection between some of the argument that we have politically and the history of race in our country, and some times it is hard to disentangle those issues. the president added to the day a controversy by citing his support for marijuana legalization effort in colorado, and washington. and using class warfare rhetoric to do so. the president said quote, middle class kids don't get locked up for smoking pot.

absolutely not. lou: what is troubling mere, thank you for the kind words about the book. just, for me it is difficult to understand why a president, who could have been so eloquent in 2004, talking th the country asa family, could have descended to level of slice and dice gangsters and group in identity politics -- by the way that is republican, that is democrat. but for the president to have descended to that level, he had such an opportunity to elevate himself, and the nation, is jus -- i mean it is stunning, and disappointing it is not improving. >> no. and i must say, that you know, look he had some opposition, i don't doubt that there are some whites that don't like hem because he is black, okay. but what he have seen, i sense this in the interinterview in

he came from a family that in some ways was unorthodox. his wife came from a traditional family. he seemed to want to be a good family father. so i think his heart was in the right place. and he could play some of his favorite president and he realizes that he's nothing like them which is also a little bit disturbing. >> what drives a president or anyone, really to say that something like this is a lot better? he weighs into an argument that someone that didn't go to medical school. because of you are using a substance and clearly marijuana is not healthy. it's not good for the lungs. not recommended for those who only want to apologize to all those who are apologizing and

the fact is that marijuana is a gateway drug. and i think it will be interesting to see. they are basically saying go smoke a joint, it's not as ad as alcohol. see how that works out in colorado and washington. i shook my head and laughed and rolled my eyes. what will he come up with next. >> he does have some expertise on the matter. in states where they want to legalize it, anything that the president of the united states is behind it. let's do it here. lou: what is the profit? what is the point? >> is a failed foreign policy and economy that is still stalled and frankly they chaos with the affordable care act which is hurting a lot of people and creating tremendous anxiety.

lou: the anxiety. lou: the new york mayor is competing heavily he decides that people shouldn't be allowed into the state. conservatives who support gun rights, they say have no place in new york. so crystal, what is going on? i can't even begin to believe. john gibson i were talking earlier about this. this is getting ridiculous now. all of government is designed for talk radio. >> can you imagine if governor cuomo is a conservative governor of a red state and he said just the opposite of this? he would be called a racism all sorts of names. the one i first heard about that he reminded me of killer when heller said let's exterminate the jews.
