loan dt is so large and such a burden on the backs of college students and families, it's a major factor in preventing first time buyers from buying homes. so now, we are awakening to the economy, higer education. middle class parents and their kids are footing thebills. helped o by our generous federal governments and the states kick in as well. how much debt are we talking about? how much debt can a bunch of college kids run up f cryin out loud? it turns out, a massive amount. about 7 in 10 graduates leav college owing on student loans. on average, each of the newly educated men and women walk out saddled with $30,000 a piece in debt. add it up and school loans are $1.2 trillion of debt.
