set your dvr, we're rocking. you can catch me on varney in the morning right now lou dobbs is up next, keep it here for your, fox business. lou: good evening, the obama white house is now calling the arrival of tens of thousands of unaccompanied children at our southern borders a humanitarian crisis, there is no way the children could have traveled 1800 miles from southern border to u.s. boarder without great coordination among the governments and parents of the children, republicans say this is a direct result of president obama's policies on administration, the administration has turned over our southern border to the government of our neighbors to the south, and president obama has turned the border patrol in to a welcome wagon for illegal

immigration. the images on the screen show some of the nearly 50,000 children who crossed our border illegally, already this year. with no fear of deportation because of the president's executive actions and his promise of amnesty. the border patrol estimateed that nearly a quarter of a million children under the age of 12, will cross our boarder illegally without their parents over the next 2 years. president obama is correct to call the situation, dire. the president ordered 3 separate u.s. military basis to house, and -- bases to hous house, feee children with border patrol overrun, the u.n. u.n. high commissioner for refugees concludeed that majority of these children are coming from el salvador, guatemala, hand during us, fleeing -- honduras,

7:03 pm
obama on a deal for immigration reform. >> i have told the president that there is some things we can work on together. we could work on the boardser security -- border security billing it and things like the kids. lou: cantor may not be garnering 52% of the vote after pulling in 80% in previous elections as republicans like cantor weigh the consequence of working with the white house we could be in midst of first administration that makes policy decisions in opposition to national interest domestically and abroad this administration seems to have few limits on cynical choices they are makeing to achieve their border and immigration bold goal -- goals, administration announced that -- forth seal oklahoma is third army base to be used as houses the flood of illegal children crosses our border, congressman from oklahoma will share his thoughts

in a moment. and can't the white house getting any straight? the white house now says that defense secretary chuck hagel is the one who made the decision to free 5 of the most dangerous radical islamist terrorists in the world, a week ago it was secretary hagel who said president obama was the one. who made the decision. retired four-star general jack keane is with us, and hillary clinton kicks off her campaign try out trying to convince america she was broke when she left the white house. the veterans administration system is such a mess that even people whose job it is to fix it gave up. that is according to newly revealed internal agency records that show the v.a. stopped sending teams of turn around expert to troubled v.a. hospitaled begining in 2011,

afghanistan, more tragedy, 5 americans service members were killed by friendly fire, officials say the troops were conducting a security operation yesterday. a coalition jet that was called in to help fight off a taliban attack, bombed them by mistake. such operations have been stkeped up ahead of -- stepped ahead of afghanistan's elections to take place this saturday. >> antwan lewis guidea off --al al qaeda ho off chute seizing the iraqi city, for now i am joined by general jack keane, also fox news military analyst, general let's begin with friendly fire. and the way in which this has
7:07 pm
been a chronic issue throughout the campaign, hasn't it in. >> the fact is that it is rare occasions for any of our aircraft to fire on our own troops. the fact that there is a lot of control measures to ensure this does not happen weaker have a person on the ground who is cord rating with aircraft. and based on type of bombs they may have we could take control of those bombs, and put them where the person on the ground wants them. that is incredible technology, we're one of the few countries that has it i don't know the details of why there was miscommunication here. and why those bombs got in the wrong place. but it is tragic. it in no way i di demerrill dime sacrifice these soldiers made, it is a loss muc for their famis our hearts go to them, and suffers and loss in days ahead

for them. lou: certainly, all of us share those feelings. extend our sympathy and condo lengths. at the same time, this i is a nation that fought for iraq for its control. and for its government that sought to stand up against the insurgents. just as our troops fought so hard, in afghanistan. the american people are watching the total withdraw of u.s. forces from the rejohn. region, there is no way to sugar coat this, this is what defeat tastes like. >> this is, stragic decision this administration came in, disturbed by why we were fighting in iraq and frustrated by length of war in afghanistan made a couple of unstated decisions. and that was to strategicly disengage from the region hoping
7:09 pm
to avoid a third conflict. and in doing so, not only did not provide military forces that our commanders provideed to say behind in iraq, we disengaged from the political leader, national leader in iraq malacty and left him on his own, in past we have saved malachi many times frosfrom himself he excludeed ss from political process, conducted violence against those who demonstrateed against it. and aroused sunni tribes against him, and al qaeda were able to return, if we 'our counterterrorism force there as we recommended as soon as they raised our head we would have snaped that head off, but they were gone, and malachi went from seeing a screen every day on what the enemy was doing to a blank screen who u.s. left, and left those resources.
7:10 pm
this is very different from what we're experienceing, this al qaeda terrorist organization has grown now into a military organization. they are fighting using conventional tactics, company and battalion level that is what what is takes place in mosul, they are on march south and southeast out of mosul as well. lou: turning quickly to bergdahl. bergdahl now the administration appears to be trying to insulate president obama from the decision to carry out this exchange for five radical islamist terrorists from guantanamo bay. what is happening here? the president we were told by secretary of defense chuck hagel a week ago was the man who made the decision. though night we're told by the administration sources it was the defense secretary. >> that is really hard to get
7:11 pm
your had wrapped around that, something is controversial as this is, and as sensitive as releases people from guantanamo bay is, it is hard for me to tpagtsfathom that u.s. of united -- president of united states is not only involveed in the decision making process, he has to be the decision maker, i don't see how he could possibly have turned his head and said to secretary hagel, chuck, do whatever you think is best. i just -- i can't get my head around that. lou: general jack keane thank you always. we appreciate it. >> thank you. lou: as we reported earlier tonight, 5 states holding primary elections today virginia, south carolina, maine, nevada, north dakota, aside from eric cantor's race, we're watching results from just closed polls in south carolina. where foreign policy hawk republican senator lindsey

lou: well former secretary of state, is kicking off her book tory. with a book signing event. in new york earlier today, but right now, secretary -- former secretary of state is trying to walk back controversial comments, there she so stage in chicago. she and her husband, came out of the white house quote, dead broke she said. >> let me just clarify that i fully appreciate how hard life is for so many americans today, bill and i were blessed, we worked hard for everything we got in our lives. lou: well on benghazi she sort of tried to take some responsibility. >> i certainly would wish that
7:23 pm
we had made some of the changes that came to our attention to make as a result of the investigation. but i also am clear in my own mind that we had a system. that system, of course, ended with me. but i take responsibility, but i was not making security decisions. lou: and she said criticism over her role in benghazi should not detour a run for white house either. >> more of a reince to run because, i do not believe our great country should be playing minor league ball. we ought to be in the majors. lou: to sort that out, and talk about his new book, which is, obama's enforceer. about another secretary in his cabinet, attorney general eric holder. with turning the department of justice into a highly politicize
7:24 pm
hotbed o of activism, i have to ask you, what is the former secretary of state trying to say there. has she seeped responsibility -- accepted responsibility but what we need is more of her to get less of benghazi? i don't understand. >> people want from those in government lou is if someone goes wrong, they say, i accept responsibility, stop. you don't end at about orangutan, she is trying to have it both ways, she is trying claim responsibility, and say i have nothing to do with it. lou: with national liberal media she is count on getting away with it. to your book. obama's enforceer, eric holder, the focus of your -- >> the eternal general, longest serving cabinet member. lou: and wracked up more scandals than any attorney general in history, only sitting

attorney general citeed in contempt of congress successfully, your thoughts as you look at this man, he is supposed to leave at the end of the year, and shows no signs of leaveing that i can detect. >> if he were to leave early he would be subject to various is up openas and court appearances a bunch of questions, remember, part of what has gone wrong in the obama administration is they withheld documents, they refuseed to give congress documents they need to properly exercise oversight, eric holder has a lot to conceal, he led the most politicized partisan attorney generalship since the richard nixon era. lou: even at that, mitchell was not that this stage he stands alone eric holder in his citation for contempt. >> mitchell did go to jail. lou: i understand you about that is. we have not seen any action taken. here is my problem.
7:26 pm
and as we look at eric holder, that is to find out why in the world, congress of united states has not been ale to bring forward truth and how this attorney general and this president and this administration has successfully stonewalled it. >> we have detected a tkphrau in ou--tkphrau in flaw in our constitutional framework, attorney generalal, commander in chief, they hold all of the cards, there snow real way that congress can impose its will. in theory they could arrest the attorney general rally and bring him down to a brig in the house. lou: but within the realm. >> there snow way to enforce it -- there is no way to enforce it only way to courts that takes years, if you deal with presidential term that -- >> is it full stop on attorney general eric holder, mas he gotten away with it. >> no, i don't think he has, i think if republicans take

people have become anured to the obama administration's disappointments, anured to its pain. we're here now to break down what appeared to be the desensitization of the american public. to an administration that has been overwhelmed by scandal. and we will be turning to dr. keith ablow to psychoanalyze the administration to the degree that he can. dr. ablow, a psychiatrist, member of the fox news medical a-team. welcome. >> thanks for having me, lou. lou: it is strange to me, if i may say at the outset that this administration seems to not provoke outrage, no matter how outrageous it's behavior. is there a new condition that ripped this country? >> i think so, i think the birthright of the administration came amidst the fear that evolved after 9/11, and i think that people felt very much imperilled and barack
7:35 pm
obama from the beginning has said part of us needs to admit our wrongdoing to retreat from places where we've been too aggressive. and he's been consistent in that. the apology tour, and then assaults on capitalism. you didn't build that. the collective did. so here we have a kind of stockholm mentality, which i've mentioned before. i think we were commandeered by a fellow who doesn't really embrace this country as having manifest destiny at all, who questions the core of america. the very core of it. he's not sure of us at all, in fact, he's likely more likely than not somebody who deep inside is critical to an extreme degree of our character. and people signed on with that in a kind of self-hating way. we got to come out of that. this is a psychological morass
7:36 pm
where we're questioning ourselves, and he's leading us. lou: you are saying there is residual guilt across modern society against transgressions, blacks, and americans in our history. and i'm stunned what this country has done to free slaves. we talk about the 300,000 people who died to keep them bound in chains, we don't talk about more than 300,000 americans who gave their lives to free the slaves. >> well, to free the slaves, to end tyranny during world war ii. america's always been there, america always is the bastion of freedom, and the world's court of last resort. but listen, that takes work, that takes courage, and that takes putting yourself on the line when. somebody says you needn't do any of that. all you have to do is sit back with draw.
7:37 pm
don't express yourself so much. it's attractive to people who don't question whether we can overcome tyranny, who question whether it's our place, and so he has appealed to that. and i think a very expert way. look at the hostage exchange. we get five -- five plus one, six people who question america's place in the world, including the p.o.w. released. this is a no-brainer for barack obama. people who think, well, he must have miscalculated. no, he added up the numbers, five plus one is six people who think negatively about america. by the way, it's seven, barack obama thinks negatively about america. i keep saying this. wait a second, the president. no, that's what's happened. we got scared, we elected somebody who didn't like us. lou: and the surprise a high one, isn't it? as you talk about, huge. i don't know where this is going to lead us, but it means at this point that this
7:38 pm
administration, through all of the scandals is unwilling to speak the truth to the american people, fully, completely, openly, and it means that we, for whatever reason as you suggest, as a people, as a government, are not bringing the full force of the demand for values that made this country great, to be applied, to be respected across our government and society. >> if not us, then who? the truth is no one. see, that's the answer that nobody wants. the truth is no one. this is our place, we have to lead. and here we have a potential candidate for president, hillary clinton saying what difference does it make? what difference does it make that you pedalled a false narrative to the american people that painted them as blame worthy and provoking a protest that got people killed? what difference does it make? how can you possibly be in front of the american people asking for votes after you
7:39 pm
portray us in that fashion. lou: appreciate you being with us, doctor. the good news all she's asking for is for folks to buy her book. >> so far. lou: see where it leads. thank you very much doctor. >> thanks, lou. lou: the president's nonenforcement of immigration law, turning three of our military bases for homes for illegal immigrant children. a congressman joins us to tell us what in the world is going on? i ys say be thman with the plan

%. kantor has been widely expected to win the republican primary, and fox news is making no call that would change that outlook, but at the same time, this contest is very much, well, out of reach for cantor or bratt. and we will be keeping you up to date. congressman, i want to turn now to congressman james lankford, member of the house budget and oversight committees. congressman, let me start this, you've got to be surprised your colleague looks like he's in trouble in virginia tonight. >> yeah, well watch the polls on that. this is one of the races that no one is watching because there's a lot of assumptions going on on on. i'm sure eric has paid attention to that. that's breaking news to me as well. lou: let me turn to what's happening in your state, 1200

illegal immigrant children are being moved to fort sill, the third military base being used to house and care for these young children who have been brought to our border, dumped at our border. as many as 60,000, we're expect a quarter of a million over the next two years. this is the -- the president calls it a crisis. most republicans that i've heard from say it's a crisis of the president's making. your thoughts. >> it absolutely is a crisis the president's making, he continues to work on deferred action for those who are here, continues to talk about amnesty, dream act. quee talk about securing the border first. if you don't secure the border first, this is what actually occurred. so our continual focus is we have to have border security before we talk about anybody else of any kind. the vast majority of our caucus including myself are not amnesty folks, i don't think
7:45 pm
that's how you build a nation, i don't think you begin a relationship with the greatest country on earth by doing an illegal act. we have a flood of children coming in, and they are children coming across the border sent, collected, put in the bases and holding and processing them until they can get thm to a family member already in the united states. that is a problem for us in the country. lou: it is a problem, it is also categorically clear that the nations from which most of the children originate, are 1800 miles away from the border upon which they're being dumped. it seems to me to be an absolutely irresistible conclusion that this administration, the obama administration, the governments of el salvador, the governments guatamalacosta rica, honduras are working in constore the put these children on an 1800-mile journey through the middle of mexico to our southern border. >> yeah. lou: it's despicable what
7:46 pm
they're doing. >> it's a human rights disaster for children on this. i don't know anyone that would say, you know what the best thing for children is to move them away from their parents, hire them out to coyotes to be in care for a short period of time. whatever time the length may be on a military base, transition them to a relative. we've incentivized it in the process. these are very dangerous, very violent locations, but it's not better than what we are experiencing these children doing. this is the problem, when the president incentivizes this, he's opening the door, when you refuse to enforce the borders this is what happens. it's important for the protection of the children south of the border but the american government and the nation that we actually secure our border. this is not rocket science. we can do this. lou: and i don't think the american people need to be frankly deceived by this administration as this administration seems intent upon doing.
7:47 pm
speak straightforwardly to the american people, have an assessment, a discussion, a dialogue and come to a consensus. but administration after administration, this is not the first as you know, president george w. bush insisted on driving forward, comprehensive immigration reform as he put it, amnesty, open borders, without bringing the american people together. this turns out to be utter madness, doesn't it? >> it is utter madness, we talk about it over and over again, breaking it into smaller pieces. there are problems, we need better hardware, better software, need better technology to secure the border. something we need toas and do. we need to deal with high skill visas. what are we going to do when a student comes over and gets a degree in engineering and science? that's something we have to resolve in law. all the enforcement, for 20 years the united states had a
7:48 pm
law we have to do a border -psecurity and interior securit system that if someone comes to the country legally, student visa, work visa, we know when they are out, when they leave. it's never been applied. that has to be fixed. lou: we're going to see what all is fixed. congressman james lankford, we're going to be watching, as i know you will, the political fortunes of house majority leader eric cantor, fate up in the air with 140 of 243 districts reporting. he's running 18 points behind the tea party candidate. congressman, thanks for being with us. >> you bet, lou, thank you. lou: a landmark case under way that could determine whether college athletes are paid for services. leading attorneys next, and yes, is our president within his constitutional rights to refuse to enforce immigration law and secure our borders? we're coming right back. wondering what that is?
