on every night at 6:00 p.m., we're here to make you money, have fun, cut through the clutter. you can't watch it, dvr the show. lot of news, the best guy to take you into the weekend, though, lou dobbs. stay right here. lou: good evening, everybody. president obama's efforts to contend with the border crisis of his own making has run into stiff resistance from house republicans and senate democrats. and a new report based on the government statistics proves that an overwhelming majority of the illegal immigrant children crossing our border will not be sent back to the country of their origin. we begin tonight with both houses of congress, republicans and democrats, rejecting the president's proposal to ease the humanitarian crisis at our southern border. republicans in the house simply unwilling to give this president billions more in

taxpayer dollars to fix a problem that he created. >> the president assured the american people the border was secure, but clearly, it is not. chairman rogers and the members of our working group are led by kay ranger are reviewing the administration's request. i can tell you this, though, we're not giving the president a blank check. lou: and as the president strikes out with that is up elemental legislation in the house, senate democratic leadership telling the president no on rewriting deportation policy as well. long time obama ally, senator dick durbin of illinois rejected the president's call to write a 2008 law on child trafficking. changing the law would allow deportations of those children to occur faster. durbin told obama, quote, i would u.s. officials to ensure there are social infrastructures that can take care of them in their home countries first.

senator durbin, obviously, wanting to run their countries as well as his own. senate judiciary committee chairman pat leahy put it more bluntly, i can't think of any reason that it should. if we follow the current law, he said, they'll get due process. to make matters worse for the president, the "wall street journal" using government statistics to conclude that over the past five years, an average of only 7% of the unoccupied miners who have been apprehended have been deported. but to hear homeland security secretary jeh johnson spin it, you would think the obama administration already has a problem well in hand. >> we are rapidly building additional detention capability for family units, for adults, bringing their children into the rio grande valley sector illegally with the goal of

turning people around as quickly as possible, and from this facility, whoa intend to begin that process of repatriating people, sending them back to home countries, beginning next week. lou: tonight, we'll be talking with former arkansas governor mike huckabee, and lebanon joining the assault on israel. strongholds hitting northern israel today as the israeli air force intensifies bombing campaign against hamas targets in gaza. prime minister benjamin netanyahu making it clear he will do whatever is required to eliminate terrorist threats to israel. netanyahu said quote, i talked to obama and the leaders of canada and the u.k. i told them no other country will accept the situation. i will not let the israeli citizens live like this. no international pressure will stop us from acting against terrorists that want to kill

us. former assistant defense secretary paul wolfowitz joins us tonight, and legendary new york city homicide detective bo dietl shows us why 82 shootings in one weekend is the norm in the city of chicago? our first guest says as americans we can be sympathetic with the plight of 90,000 unaccompanied illegal children who have entered the united states, or will enter it by september? but he says see what not be tolerant of an insecure border. i'm joined by former arkansas governor, host of huckabee on the fox news channel, mike huckabee. great to have you with us. >> thank you, lou, great to be here. lou: 90,000 children the update from secretary johnson. he says that beginning next week, the deportations will be initiated and he sounds for all the world like that will be the end of the problem. do you buy any of it? >> if you like your doctor, you

can keep your doctor, if you like your health insurance, you can keep that, too. how many things do we have to be told by the administration that logistically don't work out. here's the crazy thing. tens of thousands of people coming. we don't have a way to deport them. it was amazing former arkansas congressman found if you buy tickets on priceline can you send everyone back for 29.5 million dollars which is 99.5% less than it's going to cost obama's $3.8 billion program to see what we can do to keep them indefinitely. we are a good country, lou, we take care of people on our doorstep who are hung we and sick. that's who we are, we are americans. but we aren't chumps, and what we have done is open our border and acted like that while i have to go through the paperwork to get into any country on earth, that anybody, not just these kids but any terrorists can come and never so much as show a passport.

lou: governor, is there any reason that we should not just simply label what is going on in this administration? it is an outright disinformation campaign against the american people. it is not only open, it is not only not transparent, as the president promised. this is propaganda. disinformation, and this president is doing exactly the opposite what he and representatives of his administration like secretary johnson are saying they will do. >> why doesn't the president call the presidents of honduras, el salvador, guatemala and mexico and say every one of your people from the countries we're going to keep an accounting what it's costing to keep care of essential needs before we send them back home, which is what we're going to do. and every time plus interest we're going to take from what we would have provided you in some form of aid. why aren't we doing that, lou?

that's the first step. and the second step is let's just get real, create a secure border. i know people say it's impossible. there's nothing impossible. the impossible is to believe that we're safe in this country. here's the question we better be asking -- if kids can get across the border that easily, 8, 9-year-old kids, what do you think a terrorist can do? you think a terrorist is going to come through jfk airport and file the papers. no go to the southern border and walk across when he can. lou: and your reaction to the editorial, the op-ed piece today by bill gates, by warren buffett, talking about, and sheldon adelson, telling the american people basically you don't understand, we know what's best and you should be doing what the gang of 8 did in the united states senate and the republican party should set

aside their values, beliefs, principles and do exactly what this president says do. >> largely their article focused on people who came for study. gained an advanced degree and if they want to stay and invest their talents, and you know what? i got no problem with us figuring out a way to capture the best and the brightest around the world. that's not what we're talking about, we're talking about hundreds of thousands of drug dealers, terrorists, people who can comacross with a rocket propelled launcher on their shoulder. that's what we have to be worried about, and nobody ought to be talking about the reform until you secure and seal the border. lou: and did you notice, governor, one omission in that op-ed, they didn't mention a single item of direct benefit to working men and women in our middle class, not once in that entire op-ed, extraordinary. >> lot of americans could use

jobs and don't need to be competing with folks who didn't bring the paperwork, it is a crisis but not so much the humanitarian crisis except of that of our own making. it is a man made disaster because we didn't take care of our constitutional responsibility to take care of our borders. lou: governor mike huckabee, thanks for being with us. >> you bet, lou. lou: tune into mike huckabee on fox news channel sunday at 8:00 p.m. house speaker john boehner saying lawsuit will focus on the unilateral changes to obamacare, specifically the administration's decision to delay the employer mandate. the speaker outlined a strategy in a statement last night. he said, quote, if this president can get away with making his own laws, future presidents will have the ability to as well. the house rules committee is scheduled to take up the matter next wednesday, and if he is allowed to make up his own laws, one suspects that a third

term might be in the offing. another court victory in the search for answers in the irs conservative targeting scandal. a second federal judge has now ordered the internal revenue service to explain how the irs lost e-mails from lois lerner, the conservative watchdog group judicial watch and the tea party group true the vote have filed separate lawsuit against the irs. both have now won favorable rulings in court and their quest to uncover what they call an irs cover-up. meanwhile house republicans raising the pressure on lerner. republican congressman steve stockman today calling forcongr lerner on charges of contempt of congress. that is unlikely to happen because speaker boehner said it's up to the attorney general to arrest lerner. we'll see.

129 of those hamas rockets intercepted by the defense system iron dome. limited also now a base for hezbollah to fire rockets into israel for the first time since the violence began striking a town in northern israel. israel striking more than 1,000 hamas targets since tuesday. over 100 residents have been killed in the exchange. joining me former secretary of defense, former world bank president, paul wolfowitz. good to have you here. >> good to be with you. lou: the intensity and number of rockets fired against israel is stunning. and the rockets continue to be fired from gaza, now lebanon. how long will it take, do you believe, before israel simply has to unleash massive force to stop what is an assault on their territory and their citizens? >> it is truly tragic, and i

think it only gets prolonged, the more people suggest there's going to be some kind of negotiation to drag this out. i think the thing that is most likely to end -- well, it will end when hamas stops firing at israel. that will happen soonest, the more they are punished for what they've been doing and pounded. it's a sad fact but i think that's the fact. lou: and europe has stood up and actually france and germany, the united kingdom, being very supportive of israel. the president was somewhat late to assert support for israel. but right now netanyahu has the support of world leaders, and that support will influence perhaps his decision as to how long he can remain misconstrained as citizens are attacked seemingly every hour of every day. >> well, we're also -- you have

to pray for good luck. so far that iron dome system has worked well. imagine what it would be like to be sitting, i'm in washington, you're in new york. imagine if you were sitting in washington and rockets are raining in by the dozens from baltimore. that's what the israelis are faced with. if it leads to massive casualties, there's no telling what will happen. lou: ambassador ron hermer was very, very vocal in expressing his thanks to the leaders of the united states, both parties, in their support for israel. is it your judgment that the united states should be doing more here? your thoughts on that. >> i sort of think we should basically stay out of middle here. we should be sending the message to the extend we can send the message to hamas. it's up to you to stop this. the minute you stop firing, this will all stop. and making it clear that we are

-- we don't necessarily grow with israel about everything, but this one, behind them 100%. lou: in iraq, kurdish forces seizing two more oil fields, they walked out of the government to be, if you will. nothing seems to be going right for the united states policy in iraq, and certainly nothing are about the al-maliki government. >> you know, you get the impression that obama thinks he can ignore it by saying it's all maliki's fault or surprise, surprise it's all bush's fault. i'm afraid it's all going to be his fault when it explodes. we have something truly dangerous for the united states, al qaeda state declared, the caliphate declared on the territory of syria and iraq, the u.s. has no serious response. lou: senate republicans are calling on the obama administration to send an assessment team, full, to

evaluate what is happening in terms of the isil threat against as well. jordan now. your reaction. >> i think these people have made it clear, they said abdullah abdullah we're coming, the only question is king abdullah of jordan or king abdullah of saudi arabia. they have us in their gun sights. they are recruiting american citizens, european citizens, the kind people who do not have to sneak across the southern border to get into the united states. we could see major terrorist attacks as a result of this. not tomorrow but in the foreseeable future. in the meantime, we're going to bail out of afghanistan, possibly creating the same situation with the taliban and al qaeda waiting for us to leave. lou: and all the while, our southern border remains a sieve.

the relatively recent phenomenon of american oligarchs who believe that with their money and economic power, that they possess superior view of public policy and political outcomes. and they seem intent on fundamentally transforming america, and asserting their moneyed opinions over both the popular will and the elected officials who supposedly represent lowly eeveryday citizens. many of our congressman have concluded that amnesty will only add to the chaos that president obama has all but single handedly created on our southern border. and they further concluded, these oligarchs, that they just can't quite trust congress and the american people, just as congress is deciding it can't trust president obama, and the republicans, therefore, will not, they say, support so-called comprehensive

immigration reform that is so desperately sought by mr. obama. the billionaire sheldon adelson, warren buffett and bill gates with combined net worth of more than $180 billion say otherwise. in a "new york times" op-ed today, three of the wealthiest people in the world, certainly in this country, called upon congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform legislation and they praised last year's gang of 8 bill. adelson and buffett and gates joined in writing about the failed legislation saying quote, the bill also included a sensible plan that would have allowed illegal residents to obtain citizenship. though only after they had earned the right to do so. really? the three billionaire amigos then praised legislation that would have granted amnesty to more than 11 million illegal

immigrants, at a time when 20 million american citizens are already unemployed, underemployed, or who have simply given up looking for work. those american citizens deserve, it seems to me, much better from their government, from this president, and better as well from the extravagantly wealthy offers of an op-ed that doesn't contain a single statement, a single explanation as to how working men and women, our middle class and those who aspire to it, would benefit from either amnesty or open borders. the billionaires forgot to mention it. billionaires can be wildly off the mark, i recall vividly the occasion, well, seven years ago when bill gates told a senate hearing that, in his opinion, there should be no limits on each one visas.

he said the number of granted visas should be infinite. that's a lot. americans are watching the crisis overtake our southern border and clearly a crisis of this president's making, and adelson, buffett and gates know that. nonetheless, they want us to agree with them that our elected representatives and all the rest of us should shut up and do what we're told to do. messrs. adelson, buffet and gates should listen in particular to those on main street for once, the small businessmen and women who hire workers, who create more than two-thirds of the jobs in this country. they should listen to this woman in houston who says she's fed up with an administration that pays more attention to illegal immigrants than american citizens.

lou: joining us now is bradley graham. former reagan political director ed rollins, gentlemen, it's so good to have you here. >> thank you for having us. lou: is speaker boehner engaged in an exercise of utility, or is there a strong possibility that he has a winnable case? >> i think he's doing absolutely the right thing. and john boehner has an obligation to stick up and when a president acts unconstitutionally.

>> i think it is the right decision to make. and i think to a certain extent you need to push this competition back.

and i think in this reticular case this president needs to be slapped back. >> he is certainly getting flat a week by popular opinion and his handling of the so-called humanitarian crisis, as he styled it them on our southern border. and the border is being flooded by so many illegal immigrants and this is what amnesty looks like. >> i think we have more of a problem than we have here already. we have the ability to come here

with and this is his failure, the president is the person who is charged with foreign policy and relationships between countries who are bringing their children here. and now he's blaming republicans lou: these children in these crisis is, he's making the country more unfair. >> we are going to add another 40 or 50 or 60,000 and we are going to get their life better on the side of the border and it will be years and years and it's
