sues president for his abuse of executive tower. in a "usa today" opet over the week, speaker boehner outlined at least 4 issues where the president acted outside of the bounds of law. heramazingly, speaker boehner, d not list immigration among those issues. even though his critics say one of the president's executive actions causeed crises on our southern border, many of the politicians and, executives clamors for amnesty, claim there is a labor shortage in this country. which is untrue. household network has fallen, wages have remained stagnant. the advocates insist there is a shortage of so-called stem degree holders. well, that is not true either.
7:25 pm
so says census bureau. they say 74% of those with stem degrees, are not employed in stem jobs. why then are folks like former microsoft ceo, found erbil gates -- bill gates calling for a unlimited number of high-tech guest worker visa, when microsoft itself have month, slashed 18,000 jobs from its workforce. another "usa today" op ed, a group of university professors led by howard university process proes es es from or wrote, as long time researchs of stem workforce, and immigration issue who have sep rah atry done anal ses on the issues -- separately done an alcees on the issue, we feel compelled to report that none of us, none of us. has been able to find any

here to talk about the upcoming midterms and the unfinished business on capitol hill, and there is loss of it, john boehner comes to mind is an open issue. i am joined by the former speaker of the house. it is great have you with us. >> thank you. it's nice to be with you. we want to read the words of john boehner from his opera, this is not about executive orders but about nuclear congress and future president. is that really -- is that really what it's about? >> well, the bush administration, i assured them when the attorney general came in and broke into the office with three tv cameras of a member, regardless of the member being innocent or not, there was a separation of power and we took it to the supreme court and we won.
7:32 pm
so to keep the separation of policy is important and i follow speaker boehner's point on that issue and i think that he has am relevance there. lou: do you think of them as sufficient standing to the point where he can get forward and then prevail? >> i think that he has standing, i won't second-guess the supreme court and we'll see how they decide. but when someone else is making the legislative decisions other than the congress, i think that there is a problem when this country is in that situation. >> when he provides for a humanitarian crisis that many critics claim he created, we are watching a billion dollar bill, we are told, moving through the
7:33 pm
congress and apparently the speakers in the mood to give him a billion dollars for a crisis that he created so whatever expression you prefer. and that is pretty convoluted optics is not? >> after seeing what happens, the congress as it always is the to the well and sometimes the speaker doesn't always get the vote that he is a part of. i think congress feels very much affronted and i think there will be a lot of debate over this happens. it's not in easy issue like everyone is getting it up to being. lou: >> the issue seems to be how many feats of republicans are going to win some say, as they
7:34 pm
often do, that the republicans can screw this thing up although it's clear that the president dutch a head start. >> i think that this election is all about the headwind of what the president is doing in the tailwind for republicans. and i think there's a lot of people who feel affronted for the next 10 years. lou: are you shocked by the most recent polls and he would prevail if the election were held today rather than in november 2012. >> that shows how and i think

there's a lot of common sense of what he brought to the table. you the bottom line and he was able to make it work and i happen to be the vice chairman or the cochairman of the olympics and he came in here with this sheer force of power and turned it around. and i think we missed the vote. lou: we appreciate you sharing your point of view and a reminder to vote on our online poll tonight who do you think the president obama should be spending the most time went? foreign policy? perhaps the economy or as of recently, illegal immigration?

to the unilaterally bestow amnesty after it has been just about a minor minute effort to pass laws that have been rejected in the senate been rejected by congress? >> it certainly looks like it. i am stunned and flabbergasted and we are at a moment that is very critical in tscntional to f congress does not pass laws that he won from the past that he has the of ability to do it on his own. when you ignore the rule of law, what you get is more lawbreaking. we have these amazingly preposterous suggestions granting more amnesty and the one that i love the most is that we are now thinking about granting amnesty to the appearance of the so-called dreamers and these are the
7:43 pm
minors who were granted amnesty by obama on the theory that as children brought into the country by their parents, they have no responsibility for their lawbreaking so they should have legal status. so obama granted them legal status on the theory that they were a limited category. now the another proposal is to grant amnesty to their parents. and they were the ones who did knowingly break the law so the rule now is going to be bring a child a legally -- illegally in you will get amnesty to. lou: that is a loud and clear message that has an emanating from the white house literally for years now. so let's turn to the idea that illegal immigrants are now picketing the white house because they want to have representation, direct representation, if you're welcome in the of and ration.
7:44 pm
so what is a reaction to that demand? >> a sense of entitlement is extraordinary. so this is absurd, here they are having meetings with the white house presenting lists of demands. there is no ending that process. so we have state after state and city after city making it as easy as possible to be here illegally and they get away with it. so everyone gets away with breaking the law. and then what we have, as we said, no more does region between illegal and legal

answer the question. why would the united states bringing these millions of folks when we have an entitlement to welfare system that is broken and the entitlement system and the welfare system is broken and we have people whose salaries are going down and not up and if it were scarcity of labor we would labor price is rising. >> yes, we certainly want to. so the economic side of this which is counterintuitive to the left who claims income inequality in wages of the working class, and think that is supply and demand is a big issue and one that really does stand for in the rule of law in this country. it's an insult to those who came here through normal processes
7:47 pm
and respected our laws, the people who came in illegally are now demanding that they basically get to make immigration policy for the american people. the you're right but blame is much more widespread. it's in every city in this country and every state capital is also trying to out at the obama administration in putting down the welcome mat for people here illegally and saying that we want to be given every single right that we possibly can that people here in actual americans departed this. lou: rahm emanuel only wants a thousand of these illegal
