rally into a period of lower returns. here to discuss that our own liz macdonald, dominic tavella, diversified financial and james freeman of "the wall street journal." like that cranky old neighbor on the lawn, waving their fist, what do you think? >> is the market about to make a screeching u-turn according to uncle cranky pants? it is all about the 10-year note. september is a really ugly month for earnings revisions. historically the worst month. melissa: you're with cranky barclays. are you cranky? >> i don't think barclays is cranky, if this is the bear case, i understand it, barclays are saying stocks will run up 8% between now and end of 2015. if that is worst-case scenario life is pretty good. >> not quite on barclay's side, the last 60 years they cut costs refinanced death, issued more debt to buy back stocks.

melissa: barclays themselves? >> no. corporate america. what is the catalyst going forward? there is no impetus to push the stock prices 100% higher. >> they're saying companies with stock buybacks are priced in. that is financially engineered their earnings per share and stock performance higher. that is part of the issue too. >> saying we'll not have the rally like we've had since the market bottom in spring 09, i don't think this is really earth shaking. and they're talking about modest growth which is probably what the reasonable expectation ought to be, right? >> not talking about a big correction. melissa: meanwhile the white house continuing its push for higher minimum wage sending three hashtag raise the wage tweets within two hours. they are busy, featuring statistics like, quote, congress could help two million families lift themselves out of poverty raising minimum wage. i guess the 500,000 jobs lost did did not fit within characters. >> that would raise the job

growth, right? there is pushback on internet and tweeter sphere. there is condescending advice coming in from administration, supporters from the minimum wage, cut weekly basis, get coupons or ride the bus. i think people, minimum wage level know that already. melissa: i think they're trying to distract from the fact that people are making 23% less at the jobs they have now than the jobs they had before the recession. >> melissa, this is coming from a president vacationing on martha's vineyard? that took entourage using private corporate plane from america. melissa: yeah. >> impoverished hillary clinton at same dinner? this is message is coming through that -- melissa: they're trying to distract from the fact now people have part-time jobs and instead of full-time jobs they had before. they think solution is to raise minimum wage. it is not to have the crummy job but instead have a good job. not a better paying crummy job doesn't do it. >> more people have a chance to move up. i think, i'm getting a little tired of them basically asking

mcdonald's to solve all the problems of the u.s. economy. melissa: great point. >> what you're basically doing here. these were never designed as jobs to support a family. melissa: right. >> entry level jobs. most people stay at the minimum wage level for 60 months. melissa: right. >> then they move higher, that's right. >> the idea that someone, coming into the workforce would say, i can't take this position at the entry level because i have to support a whole family, employer would say, what are you talking about? melissa: 62% of the people on minimum wage according to government statistics are students. there you go. >> a lot in households that make a lot more. bogus issue. melissa: shares of king digital hitting all-time low. as per usual the kardashians are probably to blame. deutsche bank downgrading king, says users are ditching "candy crush" for kim kardashian hollywood. i like to blame the car dash shuns for everything that goes wrong. it usually works and makes sense. does for sure. king was a one-hit wonder with

the other ones growing. >> that one represents 60% of the its sales. when it erodes. >> granted. i'm not giving investment advice. i'm just saying if you want to look for some positive here, they do have some other games with growth. >> is this one of the tiny bubbles bursting in the market? >> not if they reinvent themselves. melissa: i think it already burst. shares of amazon moving higher following release of amazon local register, mobile payment register poised to compete with square and paypal. this is little thing thaw plug into the ipad and your phone. i think it works on almost every device, except for ironically amazon's own phone. only thing, the fire device, the fire phone. the fire phone, says coming soon to the fire phone. works on an ipad and iphone. samsung galaxy, kindle fire but not on the fire phone. >> we talk to wall street analysts. they say they will flop. even square will flop? why? small business is the market and startups like restaurants many of which fail.

tough get the business model right before you introduce a product like this that could make a go of it. >> look, they're undercutting competition by fees that they charge. okay, they might grab some market share but if mcdonald's putting everything on its menu on its dollar menu, they will sell a lot of hamburgers but not make any money. that is the story with this company. they can sell a lot of stuff but they have to start making money. >> it might catch on. is great for small business. question for amazon shareholders, this is high volume or money-losing business. >> you're absolutely 100% correct. >> really costly device for amazon to launch. melissa: comcast and time warner waning and dining the fcc as they await for merger approval spending more than $130,000 a dinner honoring a key federal regulator. this is how the big fund-raisers go. they say we are honoring you mignon clyburn, whatever her name is. >> she.

iraq, out of harm's way away from the isis militants. dangerous and tricky types right now here in northern iraq. back to you, melissa. melissa: heartbreaking, greg stay safe. thanks so much for the report. defense secretary chuck hagel emphasizing that the 130 military revise source on the ground in iraq are not combat troops. let's bring in heritage foundation economist steve moore, fox news contributor and james freeman is back with us as well. there is a big emphasis to continue with this idea there are no boots on the ground but there are obviously a lot of our folks there, marines among them. they have not named this mission. how long can it stay with this tone, steve, do you think? >> it reminds me a little bit of sadly, the start of vietnam. we got involved in vietnam in the first place by sending advisors and more advisors and military personnel. the problem for the obama administration is, no one knows what the mission is. no one knows what the endgame

is. when you have missions like that they very rarely succeed. melissa: yeah. question and answer with the pentagon spokesperson earlier said, someone said worth pointing out this operation still has no name. when pressed they said there are plenty of operations -- >> or purpose. melissa: haven't had a name, making a big deal whether or not it is named and what that means. james is there too much focus on this and do you think it is justified? >> there is problem the president likes to ignore. he can't. you look at humanitarian disaster that is emerging. i think he is hoping and all hoping the assistance in terms of food and water to the people that have been trapped by al qaeda aligned groups and assistance to the kurds on the military end will be enough here. you wonder, because we've had several days of airstrikes, without more people on the ground, do the troops of ours in planes know which truck to shoot at? you wonder if that will really

turn the tide? we all hope that it does. melissa: quite a story to watch. gentlemen, thanks to both of you. turning to the energy markets right now oil in the green, bearish signs of supply. the let's get a quick look at the markets with trader james romelli at the cme here. it is interesting that the international energy agency trimmed projections for growth and saying refinery runs are less than they expected. is there less demand out there and what do you think it means for the economy, james? >> i don't necessarily think there is less demand. we're definitely seeing some unusual numbers on the inventory. we didn't expect it as it is the height of the summer driving season here. i think the expectation was production out of the middle east was going to come off because of the crisis in iraq and we haven't seen that yet however activity in the equity options market is projecting much higher growth for oil refineries here in the u.s. big companies like valero are making investments to process the lighter crude oil we're building up stockpiles of here in the u.s. and we're
