2:02 pm
this is where it gets really scary for me as an american. you know, at at time when the senate is attacking the people that we're supposed to protecting us, think about that. think about what dianne feinstein did in the middle of terrorism across the globe. she attacked the cia which we should give credit for protects you so long. melissa: we'll get to that. i want to stay on the hacking. >> mike rogers, house intelligence committee tried to pass bills to get people to concentrate on for years. we now learned that sony knew they were being hacked months and months ago, if not last year. one of the biggest problems here, melissa is, look, people open emails. they hit a link. that is how the malware gets in. that is how hackers get. [people should know that. these companies are all so busy they don't concentrate on the vulnerabilities that they have, is something you do tomorrow the
2:03 pm
then get hit today and you've got a problem like this. melissa: what do we do now though? hackers are out there threatening people that go to the movie theater see this movie. they're threatening, using the name 9/11. go ahead. >> for sony i would just point out, for sony things go from bad to worse. the pictures business was really only part of the their business that was working and making money. that obviously suffered reputational damage. would you have thought one small silver lining this film would have done a big number because people would have been curious. this makes that even less of a possibility. >> but there are two issues here. there is hacking of the emails and what is going on with this latest -- melissa: breaking news that we have right now. >> after what happened in sydney, after attacking the cia for protecting us so long, does this have resonance for so long? before i attack the snoops that protect us every day i want them to water board somebody to find out who it doing this.
2:04 pm
>> this show about money, a lot of big tech companies, they say one of fast teft growing parts of their business is corporate security. melissa: without question. >> investors watch your show want to watch that going forward. melissa: the dow falling back to earth, now 60 points up more than 254 points earlier in the session. stocks losing steam as oil dives back into negative territory. seems like you know, no matter what happens with oil. >> i would say this. i'm wonder which hedge fund is imploding because of this. melissa: on oil front? >> has to be. ray dalio who runs bridgewater has a huge position in exxonmobil. all these hedge fund were long oil. john paulson i believe was long oil. i don't know if they hedged while this thing was happening but you go the to think with that type of a decline. we'll talk with anthony scaramucci later on, from skybridge, fox news contributor, knows more about hedge funds than anybody i know, with that massive decline in crude that
2:05 pm
some hedge fund -- melissa: uncharted territory that hasn't been predicted. the saudis were saying 60. now we're below that. melissa: economic outlook in russia looking bleaker. despite a hail mary from the russian central bank which decided to raise key interest rates to 17%. that is the highest mark since 1998. dan, i will kick this to you. it was a desperate move. it is failing. >> it is failing. they did it too late and you know russia would not be in this strait if they had not, vladmir putin had not invaded crimea and ukraine because you have an in addition to the price of oil dropping you have those sanctions imposed by the europeans and the americans. and now i think we're heading towards a significant potential political problem in russia because putin is, kind of a cult of personality. there is not a broad party there. he has kept himself in power with this tremendous propaganda in russia, blaming the west for
2:06 pm
his problems. it is going to be very hard for him to blame the ruble and fall on price of oil on western propaganda. >> don't you think it is fall of oil had more to do with it than the sanctions themselves? melissa: without question. >> what i find fascinating, we imposed sanctions when he invaded ukraine, not even crimea. we let him basically take crimea, right? we imposed sanctions. didn't have any impact. all of sudden, massive production of aisle, prices started falling and this guy got put in a vice. >> left him no leg to stand on which i think is your point. >> what does he do now? this is dangerous political personality with a lot of power. has to be watched. melissa: backed in a corner. >> currency control is coming and just threat of that and panic could make things even worse for the ruble. melissa: oil prices having unintended consequences for keystone pipeline giving president obama some political wiggle room. we're talking about politics of
2:07 pm
oil. lower gas prices could mean less pressure to president to okay the pipeline. oil prices going low gives the president and laking place to reject the pipeline, jack. >> they will argue without the pipeline it is no longer economical to exploit these resources in canada. and, okay, but you build a pipeline you use for decades. you don't build it because of this year's oil price. i just don't understand it. we'll not move away from being an oil economy overnight. we need resources. leave it to the market to figure out when the price is fair to put in place these assets. >> if he does that melissa, it is going to be another nail in the coffin of the hillary clinton presidential campaign. why? because there are some unionized workers expecting to get jobs on this pipeline. head of international laborers union, terry o'sullivan has gone ballistic on obama not approving it. if he does that they're putting a democratic constituency at
2:08 pm
risk. melissa: interesting. jeb bush jumping out of the frying pan a lot closer to the presidential fire. the former governor of florida causing 2016 tongue wagging by tweeting quote i will actively explore the possibility of running for president of the united states. a lot of qualifiers in that sentence. how do you cut through that, jack? >> look, i like this a lot. i see some quality candidates here. at someone who is neither a republican nor a democrat -- melissa: really? >> never going to join. melissa: okay. >> last year, the republican field seemed to me to be a clown show. i watched one after another after another implode on their own. >> mitt romney was a clown? >> no, i think he was last man standing. >> he is not a clown. >> no, i don't think so but this year i siebert quality candidates. melissa: dan. >> i think biggest part of the story can be sumped up in one word, money, political money. so much political money now as jeb moves like this will flow in his direction. >> right. >> big donors, like paul ryan is
2:09 pm

2:10 pm
blimp. >> what that mean? melissa: stays up for month at a time. uses radar to detect among other potential threats, drones. >> drones coming into the united states? melissa: over d.c. it will look around for things flying in the air. i'm surprised we didn't already have one of these things up there. >> why do we need a drone doing that. >> there are some possibilities, this is blimp that detects drones. but the problem is potentially some drones that can be flying around the airspace of u.s. airports, whether $30 drones people buy themselves or ones that people manufacture. it's a significant danger. you know the funny thing about this is, melissa, what we're talking about here is air defense. remember "star wars," ronald reagan's "star wars" system? ted kennedy mocked it. now we really need systems like this to protect us from little digital technologies like airborne drones. melissa: absolutely. gentlemen, thank you so much. a tough new warning from the top. president obama saying he won't back down until isis is destroyed and he is admitting there has been a lot of setbacks

melissa: devastating news out of pakistan today. at least 141 people including 132 children are dead after the bloodiest attack on a school in a decade. pakistani taliban dressed as guards stormed a military-run school earlier today in the city of peshawar in northwestern afghanistan. the terrorists kept some of the 1500 students hostages for nearly five hours. pakistani taliban says the attack is retaliation against the country's recent military operation in the region. horrible story. months into our airstrike campaign against isis president obama says we're hammering the terrorists despite a few small setbacks.
