2:30 am
get a robot for jonas? >> he is our mascot. we love him. he is my valentine. you, ramon. neil is next. you want someone to go after isis money, how about the guys great at hiding his money? welcome i'm neil cavuto. russia to the rescue? think about it. when it comes to tracking down where isis gets its money, united nations figures who better than the fox to find out who is funding the hen house? charlie gasparino says bad move. ben stein will be back with us next week. >> if you want a leader that's in bed with the mafia which he is, you want to break bread with him and let him lead this
2:31 am
financial coalition, it's one of the dumbest things in the world. i can't believe president obama is allowing it to happen. it fits with his pattern of not having a plan here. this is getting at -- i'm not saying i want boots on the ground to defeat isis, but one of the things we could do is financial stuff. allow russia to take the lead on this is totally insane. >> but we are already doing that, right? >> that's why it's insane. >> here is the bottom line. president obama, not only does he like leading from behind but has no clue how to deal with this. >> ignore russia's offer to help? >> i wouldn't ignore it. everything we've done with respect to isis everything in the middle east has been by proxy. we left an ill-prepared iraqi army and try to patch them up now with 60 people. we probably will need troops on the ground ultimately. if we are not going to take the
2:32 am
lead i'm glad someone is even if it's a crook or thief. we are weighing the evils. who is worse isis or assad? >> i'm a nerd. i look at the money follow the money. we don't know where it gets all its money. we know it's getting less because in the black oil market, oil collapsed. we know they get a lot of money. so what is wrong with letting russia track this down? i do worry that it's part of the deal. we lift sanctions on them. that aside what's wrong with russia? >> we have no alternative at this point, right? isis has a $2 billion war chest just from oil fails reportedly. who better to crack down on the mafia which is isis than somebody in bed with another mob. >> you would trust him? >> nobody trusts putin. he is the master mind behind a
2:33 am
propaganda campaign that tried to turn the rest of the world against him. i acknowledge that. >> he is also trying to take eyeballs off his issue which is invading ukraine. >> no doubt about it. >> i don't think we need him. i don't think the russian economy, the russian financial system is not that sophisticated we need him. >> i will say this, that money's got to be funneling through western banks. i'm thinking maybe someone needs to call credit swiss. someone needs to call bnp parabas. >> the united nations human rights commission -- this was the week the president said i want the authority to go after these guys. i would say that the president
2:34 am
is taking the lead on this even if he's not taking the lead on this united nations effort that you don't even care about. >> the united nations human rights commission which was once led by moammar gadhafi -- when you start associating united nations -- >> thank you for validating my point. >> it is true. the united nations deals with a lot of bad people and are led by bad people. >> you think credit swisse will volunteer information? >> you've got to be tough with these guys. >> there is no harm with them helping. >> is there any harm letting russia do this? no. >> we don't want to make enemies of our enemies. >> we are not saying lift sanctions on them.
2:35 am
who knows better than to deal with chechen violence. >> i've got a brooklyn bridge for you. do you want to buy it? >> taking the eyeballs off the invasion of ukraine. >> you did have a settlement by the end of the week. i hear your point. >> at least it acknowledges the sources of money and how isis is basically continuing to build this war chest. part of the problem is the rest of the world haven't done anything about it in the last year or 1 1/2 years. now they are sitting on several billion dollars at the least. >> why would the company with the least sophisticated banking system. >> russia and all the other member nations. >> i think the idea that america has not taken the lead on this is scary stuff. you talk about emboldening -- >> following the money? >> the lead of crushing isis. we saw jordan -- >> what would you want them to do? >> they buckled up, the
2:36 am
president put on a vest, got into an f-16. >> he doesn't know how to fly it. >> i'm talking about the president of georgia. >> here is the bottom line. we are too wishy-washy. we are so weak on this. we are emboldening the enemy. >> you are emboldening 10,000 troops on the ground? really? >> let's finish it. >> every major bank that does business in this country for stupid stuff why can't he go out and pressure big banks around the world that do business in the u.s. to stop isis? it makes no sense. >> how do you know he isn't? >> because knowing him he would be bragging about it if he was. >> he has a nickname for being a duck. adam here is what i'm wondering looking at this. let's say russia is involved trying to track this money down and see where it is. they had no more luck than we had looking at it. something is funding this group. not just oil.
2:37 am
we know they get it from kidnapping and ransoms and all that. there is also talk of an underground network that is populated by the saudis and kuwaitis. the people we think are our friends. what if we discover this money network touches to the very allies we think are our buddies in the region? >> i think it's highly likely, but it may not be that straight forward. it may be some elements within saudi arabia, for example. >> we've known for a long time these elements, right? >> that doesn't make the solution easier. we can't be done with them that. makes geo politics so complicated. we will degrade them by the way. they are on the downward slope. >> you are saying their hatred is blinding them to find a
2:38 am
solution? >> my barber's russian. i like russians. >> we have really given up our role as leader of the world. the world is paying a heavy price for it. >> we'll take a quick break. dave, what have you got? >> the president asking congress for military authority to beef up the fight against isis. is a congressional declaration of war the only way to defeat them? >> the irs seizing bank accounts of business owners who never committed a crime. should that be illegal? we'll see you soon. >> thank you very much. what does that staple button say, "that was easy." time for a new one now that it's been targeted by no less than the president of the united states. that waswright.
2:39 am
2:40 am

2:42 am
back to "cavuto on business." when i hear multiple corporations that make billions of dollars in profits trying to blame our interest in providing health insurance as an excuse for cutting back workers' wages shame on them. >> i'll make him an offer he can't refuse. >> was it me or did you, mr. president sound like me, the godfather? shame on them, mr. president. the office supply giant saying shame on you. staples firing off this statement after the president was trying to say that their
2:43 am
part-time employee policy was a direct response to his health care law. they said no. we've been having the same policy, the same percentage of part time workers for the better part of a decade. charles, a little bit of mob-like tactics? you have to use the godfather voice. go ahead. >> you sounded like my grandpappy. >> president obama has contempt for capitalism but when he talks about staples it's like contempt on staples. staples funded by mitt romney. mitt and his crew helped them stock their shelves. went on to hire millions of people to help start millions of businesses in america an amazing beautiful american success story. here is the real rub. during that interview -- you are
2:44 am
not a fan of the president? >> i'm not a fan of his policy and i'm not a fan of him always trying to take down success or always belittle people who worked and have gone the extra mile. he went on to talk about the idea that staples should help pay these people or more. you created the 30-hour workweek. there was a bill passed in the house this year. make the 40-hour workweek, bring it back. you destroyed so many low-income working people. >> his point was trying to stay staples is trying to find a run-around trying to find health care from its workers. it does provide health care to part-time workers, just not the president's plan. he doesn't think it's generous enough. the company makes billions of profits when it makes a fraction of that. it's closing a lot of stores, 200 this year and merging with office depot that is even hurting more. it's not on fire here.
2:45 am
if you are going to -- go on to all the other companies that presumably do the same thing. >> i would say this. i think staples is doing this primarily because of the health care law. >> they say no. >> i don't believe them. >> they said otherwise. >> i don't care. i believe they are doing it because of the health care law. >> facts don't mean anything. i deeply admire that. >> bspr statements from corporations don't mean anything. the other half of the equation is this. companies have a fiduciary responsibility to react to costs. and stay in business. that's what you do when the government imposes a mandate like obamacare. >> you get the idea the manager of staples are there no prisons? they do offer this, one of the earliest to offer same-sex benefits. leaving that aside, why do you think staples was targeted?
2:46 am
for political reasons or that the president is saying any of you who start blaming my health care law -- >> he'll start calling you out by name. staples first. walmart, target. >> i agree with that. >> you can't blame companies for a law that you wrote a law that you created. obamacare is going to have and is already having all of these knock-on effects. driving up costs for companies. companies are dropping health insurance for part-time workers, talking about walmart, target and home depot. it is the fault of the law not the company. you created a law that encouraged companies to hire part-time workers. >> we redefine what is pull and part time workers. >> you wrote it. >> i didn't write it but i know water saying. >> the president and democrats wrote this law. >> adam, what do you make of this? >> me? well i'll try to reframe this in terms that are slightly more favorable to the president.
2:47 am
i will by the way agree maybe he didn't make the best choice of a company to talk about given the facts. what he is saying is look, they and many other companies have an opportunity to take advantage of the provisions of the health care law by adjusting their hiring. >> but they provide health care. what is lost in the sauce, you think they don't do anything. they had health care. just not the president's plan. maybe not as generous. but they do provide. >> let's give him the benefit of the doubt. one of the president's jobs is to use his bully pulpit. >> you use that bully pulpit for a truthful reason and you go after companies that are doing what you say to do when you know they are not. i think this is politics coming into play. >> his treasury secretary used to work for citigroup. a company that created the financial crisis, one of the major culprits of the financial
2:48 am
crisis. he spends his time attacking staples? this is insane. citigroup is a bad actor. jack lew worked there, made millions of dollars from it. bob ruben another friend of his worked there. >> this is nasty thing about bankers. >> you are saying we should give the president the benefit of the doubt for attacking a company that is a good corporate citizen while he takes the leftovers from citigroup and puts them in the administration. what is that all about? >> i'm saying give the president the benefit of the doubt that he wants more companies to comply with the opportunities available in the affordable care act. >> but it's okay for him to use as a farm team a company like citigroup that destroyed the financial -- >> the only thing i don't know if he was having a personal meeting with tim cook at apple. i love apple, great company. this is a company that makes all those fancy iphones in china.
2:49 am
and keeps the money in china. that is a ton of money. if you are going to go after staples, then go into everybody who either ships jobs overseas or tries to shirk your health care laws. be fair and balanced. the president was neither. >> i think he will be. when this law as it starts to crumble and fall apart, he is going to be blaming everybody but those responsible. >> i like the way you said it because you have the southern accent. that is better than my godfather. if a bird took down this plane, imagine what a drone could do.
2:50 am

. welcome back. another near collision in the sky not between planes, between a plane and a drone. this time it was a southwest jet coming face-to-face with one of these flying gadgets right near los angeles' international airport. there already near 200 reported drone incidents in the last year alone and dagen i'm telling you, it's just a hearth of time it worries me. we have rules in place, so watch how closely against airports and invariably they still do. >> and one crashes at the white house, right. you see one flying near reagan airport in washington, d.c. they're everywhere and the faa has zero control over what's going on. they wrote rules, they ran stated being able to fly niece drones, can't go above 400 feet. you have to notify air traffic control if they're within five miles of an airport. it's not helping. it doesn't party. these people are stupid the
2:54 am
people monitoring the drones are even dumber. keep them on the ground. >> adam. >> i completely agree. a lot of these people around where i live in silicon valley who are so crazy about drones, i think they're crazy. i think they need to be stopped before something bad happens because i don't want one of those things hitting a plane i'm flying in neil. >> a lot of them are small, old radio shack devices that you see, you know, sort of played with on tv but a lot of the them are sophisticated. we foe birds can do a lot of damage, imagine what one of these will do. >> i'm trying to figure out the lane tear yan argument to see this is a good thing. i should have consulted judge napolitano. >> you should consult him. >> i can't believe people do it near airports. come on. >> i think a lot of times they veer out of control and i don't think even the people who originally sent it -- it veers out of control. >> what's the attraction for these things? i don't get it. >> sn. >> boys and their toys.
2:55 am
>> primarily, yeah. >> i think there will be a time when they're going to be ubiquitous, i think we'll have delivers, but near airports is nuts. i believe there will be a day i will order a book from barns and noble and they say it will be at my house in 30 minutes via a drone. >> they liked using them to shoot aerial video, martha stewart has one blieg over her property am bed ford, new york why. >>. >> does she not have anything to spend money on? buy another horse, martha. >> i think anything more i say will get me had in trouble. >> oh really? now it's a big worry. i want to thank tagen i want to thank charlie, i want to make sure they don't come back. lien bile -- i kid. who needs chocolate, flowers and that nonsense when you can get our guys' stocks to love, but can they sell them like janice dean sells this sm.
2:56 am
>> the love i have for you neil cavity owe the warmth in my heart right now as we speak so melt all of the snow in boston. cavuto for president
2:57 am

. stocks to love today and every day. charles. >> g ichlt letas because we love our pets more than each other.

>> adam. >> ezu, i love europe, neil. these are big european multi-national companies inexpensive right now. >> thank youuch. and i loved david asman and i love all of you. "forbes on fox." the battle over the battle. as the president asks congress for a three-year military authority to beef up our fight against isis more than seven out of ten americans say the president does not have a real strategy to defeat isis. that's why some here say it is time to declare a full blown war to destroy their slam i can extremists and protect our way of life. i'm david asman, welcome to "forbes on fox." let's go in focus with steve forbes rich mike, saab if a, john and rick younger. rich, 73% of americans say they do not think the president has a strategy for defeating isis. should we just declare
