president obama on notice about a nuclear iran. raising, quote, grave issues that have arisen in recent negotiations, the pressure on the hill comes amid wildly divergent methods out of iran. the president says a deal is within reach. the supreme leader told the crowd, quote, of course yes death to america because america is the original source of this pressure. so they're basically chanting that we should die. >> death to america. >> some secret love language between the 2bffs. >> i love you. i heart you. melissa: yes w it was '78 when they did death to america. are holding americans hostage in their country. we want to negotiate in good-faith with these people? >> if they send us those four folks that we shouldn't be having this conversation until they return those four hostages then critics would say we've traded four lives for some sort of a deal. they're damned if they do. damned if they don't. >> you can't win. >> it's hard to negotiate with people that have an ultimate goal to -- that want you dead. that's the problem it is right now. we did negotiate with kim jong-un. didn't the bush administration -- didn't the bush administration -- no, the bush administration -- >> i confuse bush and rocky. >> there was an opening up for a nuclear treaty. and, you know, it didn't work out. but the bush administration tried it. >> i know a lot of people are arguing about this idea. and i hope i'm saying it right. i think i am.

companies that warned of negative results since they've been keeping track. so if they're so far off where they thought they were when they issued guidance have things gotten worse? this is a -- >> where is the dollar right now? it continues to get stronger. i think one of the main problems that yellen will have is the notion that the dollar -- listen the dollar is getting stronger because people think the rates are going up. it's squeezing profits. when you do it, what will happen then? will the dollar continue to get stronger. it factors out of her control. the european economy is imploding still. they're devaluing their currencies across europe. money is shifting to the u.s. you can't raise rates at this point. >> especially since the dollar isn't working in that regard. >> how important is money in the election coming up? >> i think it will be huge. at the end of the day, a lot of the evangelical conservatives want someone who is faithful

to god. i understand that. i'm an evangelical. we don't need a pastor in chief. we need someone who knows a little -- i wouldn't mind having a business leader. knows what it's like to take risks. >> i would love someone who can do math. maybe understand the balance sheet a little bit. >> mitt romney knew that. >> won the award for math. >> herbalife -- for the third time in the past four trading days. creeping closer to $50 a share. probably putting bill ackman in a bad mood. charlie, this is your story. >> we should point out ackman the short seller who tried to drive this stock to zero had a pretty good year last year. had a good opening year this year. this stock has been making a comeback lately. it's above the level he shorted it. it's at a break-even point. it's rising on the

markets. but also because bill ackman is facing some scrutiny for how he shorted this company. as you know we reported this a million times. the company herbalife has been progressed regulators and the fbi to open a stock manipulation case against him. i don't know if they've opened it officially. i won't call it an official case yet. but they're snooping around. talking to people. if you look, the stock is moving as that's going on. plus a couple of lawsuits -- i will say this, just for a retail investor, only roll the dice with this if you want to. >> the new york times poking another hole in hillary clinton's -- purporting the clinton aides used private accounts to communicate with her on matters of state. that information at odds with the clinton's claim that her messages -- through other people's government accounts. maria not disputing this in the new york times.

you remember her defense was, i always knew they would be safe. i wasn't trying to hide anything. from her personal account, she was emailing to people on her staff to their personal accounts. does this stick, todd? >> this won't matter a hill of beans come election day to be perfectly honest with you. one of the things that got he many was one email exchange where the secretary of state said did we survive today? survive, yes. (?) there were people that didn't survive that benghazi. we can't forget about those folks, at the end of the day. i've said, at the end of the day twice haven't i? >> when we talk about this i sort of snickered did we survive, we have to remember people did not. >> we're talking about these emails. the clintons need to come clean. >> when you have multiple emails. my wife has her corporate, her personal email, her old one i met her online. exactly that i don't know about. the other one.

[applauding] melissa: here now is byron. todd is back as well. byron, i want to start with you. there are things that everybody thinks they know about ted cruz. a lot of facts they don't. i was interested in where he stands on the money issues since that's the name of the show. he's very much for getting out of the way of small business. there's too much regulation. too much cost of obamacare. is that a message that he can sell? what do you think? >> well certainly he's been running as far as repealing obamacare is concerned he's been prominent as any republican in the effort to repeal obamacare. remember, his work led to the government shutdown in late 2013 on

that. so -- so economic freedom issues have been very very strong with him. and, by the way he actually stuck to his guns when he went to iowa not too long ago, and some other candidates were saying they supported ethanol and renewallable fuels. and he said no, i don't. they should be eliminated. kind of gutsy for a candidate to say that. >> very consistent on that front. the export/import bank. your tax dollars, picking winners and losers in terms of giving them loans in order to export products to other countries. that's been something on his plate that he's very much against. what do you think todd? >> i think ted cruz was brilliant in picking the location for announcing his run. liberty university, the largest christian university, the kingmaker in the community. that will be important going by into the primary. you have cruz go against

mike huckabee, rick santorum and to a extent, scott walker. it will be important who comes out on top. ted cruz he struck first. he got a very very reception there at liberty. >> his wife heidi, the managing director of goldman sachs, people in our audience know what that means. she's a real power broker. he's viewed as soicially conservative. he is a powerful wife. television trumps reality. fictional tv president now more popular than president obama. this is according to a rioters poll. he is a 46% approval rating compared to an 89% approval rating of david palmer. even the power hungry frank underwood 57% approval. byron, (?) underwood is a murderer.

♪ melissa: the us military urging personnel to be vigilant as isis publishes a so-called kill list of 100 service members complete with their photos and addresses. meanwhile the us is pulling the last of its troops out of yemen as the country just spirals into chaos. the move comes six months after president obama hailed yemen as a victory for us policy. president obama: the strategy of taking out terrorists who threaten us while supporting partners on the front lines is one that we have successfully pursued in yemen and somalia for years. >> i'm joined by lisa. she's an investigative journalist. christian let me start with you. what do you make of this hit list, and how do we respond? >> well it's -- you know, just another sign

that what -- the current strategy isn't working. it's not putting anyone back on its heels. yemen, if you look at this, it's a case in point of drone strikes not working. the idea we can have a sterile war and kill people and be fine, it's not working. these places are collapsing into civil war. the threat is coming closer and closer to us in the homeland. >> let me ask you lisa when you look at the pro-isis tweets that have been going out. folks are breaking them down. it is amazing to see where they're coming from. the fourth most prolific place that is producing these tweets is the united states. behind saudi arabia syria, and iraq. but we're producing more pro-isis tweet than egypt, kuwait turkey the palestinian territory. obviously we have a larger population. but it's still staggering. >> if that's not a

wake-up call, i don't know what is. this idea that isis is contained to syria and iraq, i mean, even militaryiarily speaking they're in tunisia, arab. they're spreading their message so quickly and recruiting people. whether or not we want to believe that the war -- that terrorism problem is here in the united states it's already here in terms of technology and their presence whether it's these individuals linking up with these networks or these networks recruiting these individuals. they're link you go. >> a lot of people look at yemen and throw their hands in the air. far away place. so many problems right now. how can we focus on this? it has the red sea to the rest. the suez canal is there. 10% of the world's goods flow in there. if that gets disrupted, the price of materials go way up for everyone, not just crude oil.

melissa: a few stories on our radar right now a big corporation move for richard fisher, joining pepsi's board of directors. he just stepped down from his job at the bank on thursday. and a new tool helping parents monitor their children's driving. uh-oh. it is called teen drive. it will debut this year in the new chevy malibu. parents will get a report on how well their kids are doing behind the wheel. the system also will start nagging them when they're driving taos or their hair is too long -- too fast or their hair is too long. 25 finalists fight it out for millions in prize money at the annual darpa competition. instead of feet one of them has tracks like a tank, it is called chimp and i'm joined by one of the lead designers of the national robotics engineering center. thank you so much for joining us. >> nice to be hoar, melissa. melissa: we're huge into robots in our family, so this is just enormous. chimp placed third in darpa in

2013, but now he's back. why is he ready to take the crown? >> yeah. we've within working hard -- been working hard day and night. we've got a great team of world expert robotics engineers and we're really looking forward to the competition in a couple months and we hope to be one of the best teams there. melissa: what's different? how have you improved him? we're -- >> we're pushing to make him more reliable easier to use and faster. some of them it's kind of like watching paint dry, and we're trying to make it as exciting as possible. melissa: there's severe competition, there's robo-simian, he walks on all fours. do you feel threatened by this robot? do you think he could take your robot? >> i think there are a lot of really fantastic robots and, you know a head to head would be very exciting. melissa: come on, i mean, work with me here. what's great about this other robot? why do you think yours is better? >> we have definitely in the
