melissa: indiana's caught in the cultural crossfire as it joins 19 other states passing a religious freedom law that has been on the federal books for over 20 years. now the state is feeling backlash from businesses that see the law as antigay. the ceo of apple angie's list, sales force yelp, are condemning the law with some vowing to take their operations elsewhere. i'm joined by our very own charlie gasparino, ed henry, of fox news and judy miller, manhattan institute. ed give you first crack at this one. >> charlie would be mad if he doesn't go first. >> not on this one. melissa: i want to take the money angle. the show is called "money." this seems like a terrible business decision because you look to see if new countries leave the state. angie's list canceled $40 million expansion? that hurts bottom line in the state, you're right. you mentioned 19 other states. why are we not hearing outrage
2:02 pm
in other states? indiana will host the final four which is all about money. it is not just about basketball and competition. this is a big fat target for the activists right now because there is so much money pouring into indiana they want to make a spectacle of this. this is it why it popped up. >> mike pence is potential gop presidential candidate. i will say this this is horrible for the republicans, this law. this law is pathetic it is insane. the fact that you can actually not serve someone coffee if they're gay or theoretically. interpreted in the most widest things. this is last thing republicans need. republicans need to essentially i believe is be much more libertarian on issues like this and not get involved in people's bedrooms. it really seems like the country is moved so far. melissa: let me take the libertarian other side. this is you bring up. the idea that freedom is what we're about foremost. >> right. melissa: they have the freedom to not serve someone if they

islamic extremism, hoping to snuff out conflicts like the one in yemen. here to discuss james carafano of heritage foundation. judy miller is back as well. james, you follow homeland security, missile defense. this is exactly what a lot of people would say is the right answer that you get arab states together to battle both of our enemies essentially isis and iran. sound like good news. what's the downside? well, first of all, i mean, the arab countries have gotten together before. some of them have enormous amount of capabilities, saudi arabia, for example, i guess the world's largest importer, doesn't necessarily mean they have a lot experience and skill conducting coalition or joint operations. doesn't mean they will be terribly effective. that is probably topping list of concerns. melissa: judy, they say they get together, start working on this, come in later and help when they have done a lot of the work, no? >> let's hope we don't even have

2:18 pm
themselves. that is never the reason why we're in the middle east. the only reason why the united states is in the middle east is because we have a vital interest to protect. our interests is that region doesn't devolve into civil war and chaos because the middle east is in the middle of the planet, not just energy supplies but finance and global networks of transportation go through there. this is no telling where a regional war in the middle east will spin out of control. people say let's see what air rashes can do. i'm all for people taking their own responsibility and there are a lot of countries that really, really want to do that but the notion let's sit back on our hands to let the region fall apart -- melissa: judy. >> i don't think we're sitting back on our hands. the saudi army or saudi air force absolutely requires american support around it is getting it just as we were actually flying the drone operations in yemen before it fell apart. the problem is, agree with james on this, this whole situation has devolved because obama has had an extrication narrative get us out of there.
