he will join deirdre to talk about the his career and the new "ontourage" movie. cheryl casone on next hour of fox business. >> we have at lot of headlines. economy stuck in reverse. gdp turning negative. no excuses this time, just a week economy unable to generate any momentum. a supermodel shakedown. how one beauty bought herself time with the very charitable bill clinton. only cost her half a million dollars. hope and changing his mind. the obama supporter behind this iconic sport -- poster, remember this? whether he thinks the president lived up to it all today? calling never going to be able to afford it. michael jackson's california estate up for sale. the price tag? $100 million. even when they say it is not it is always about money. want to get to the story we have new details coming in right now. we finally do have a winner
2:01 pm
fifa reelecting seth blatter for a fifth consecutive presidential term. >> thank you, ladies and gentlemen accepting for for the next four years as command of this bought. i want. cheryl: i want to bring in dan kaplan from the "sports business journal." we're getting a statement from coca-cola. this is big money story with sponsors fleeing fifa. maybe rightly some. fifa coca-cola is saying to winning back the trust it has lost. that is from one of their biggest sponsors. can they win back trust? >> i doubt they can win back trust not with seth blatter at the helm.
2:02 pm
he is the head of this organization that has been core result for two decades. he is the problem. he is not part of the problem. he is the problem. he doles out graft. he, he is corrupt. there is to doubt about it. most people expect the investigation by the eastern district of new york which was the won that handed down indictments the other day ultimately climb its way up the fifa ladder. no, i don't see how fifa can regrain the trust of sponsors and the soccer community. cheryl: but, dan, where are the members in all of this? you have 209 members that were voting today, secret vote, alphabetical order. there was another candidate who came from jordan and i lost. i mean, he didn't get the 2/3. blatter didn't but still there was another option here. the members didn't take it. i don't understand that. >> look, there are 209 nations that had a vote. they each have a vote equally. so the united states has the same vote as anguila. seth blatter probably gave a lot of money to soccer facilities
2:03 pm
and officials there and that is how this works. there is a lot of small nations particularly in africa where seth blatt hears given a lot of donations. that is -- cheryl: isn't that bribery? that is not bribery and corruption? >> i think that what is coming out. that is coming out clearly there is bribery, there is corruption and there is the raketeering charge in the indictments that came down. i hope that begins to change. i hope seth blatter does not get opportunity to fulfill the four years he got elected today. cheryl: thanks for joining us on breaking news. other big news we're following today, that is affecting your markets. honey, we did shrink the economy gdp contracting in the first quarter. harsh weather, consumer caution all cited for the reason for negative turn in the second revision of economic growth. stocks did fall on the news today. we're off session lows. still the dow down 75 points. s&p, nasdaq negative.

i want to bring in our panel. steve forbes, chairman and editor of chief with me. damage schaefer from shaffer asset management. veronica daguerre from the "wall street journal." steve, the dog ate my homework, it was too cold, it was bad weatherer, the economy is not growing. do you buy it? >> a little bit. the key thing what happens next what happens next is not good for the u.s. economy. in contrast to the 1980s where we had these kind of factors come along like the strong dollar. we have tax cuts. we had deregulation. we had government control of spending. as a result of american economy grew even in the face of those headwinds. takes a little bit of wind and we stall. cheryl: fourth quarter, veronica 2.2%. we had growth even in the fourth quarter. the holiday shopping season was not all it lived up to be and we still had growth and now a negative number. what do you make of it? >> there are questions, where is the consumer? i thinkumer is very reluctant to spend still. why? we vent seen wage growth.
2:05 pm
we have very small amount of wage growth. that is holding a lot of households back especially the middle class getting squeezed. that squeeze is continuing. cheryl: dan, and they're hoarding their tax returns. put it in the bank. it is true. they're not spending. >> exactly what veronica said. savings rate has gone up. stronger dollar which continues to get stronger will be a headwind. we're importing more. we're not exporting. other countries can't afford what we do here. we talk about many times of early stages of deflationary depression. shipping costs overseas has collapsed. dollar is getting stronger because of fear. not interest rates. they can't raise interest rates here. all this debt these countries have. when countries are indebted way they are today, over 2,000 years of studies, the countries collapse or go into financial tailspin. we're trying to prevent inevitably readjustment and repeating of our economy. cheryl: move on to big political story. i want to get details.
2:06 pm
steve i want your take. former president bill clinton turning down repeated invitation to speak at petra nemcova's annual charity event until the supermodel offered the clinton foundation offered them $500,000 in return for the appearance. cite "the new york times." is this is this the way it works? should we say oh, those clintons, once again? is this something we need to discuss ahead of the election? >> this is reality show. an ongoing scandal. hardly a day goes buy without new detail coming out implicating them in stuff that would sink any other politician. what is damaging to hillary clinton, a poll comes out that people don't trust her by 52% to 39%. even though polls are heading up among democrats. that is declining among independents this is the kind of thing where her support is going to fall. if you get a real candidate in
2:07 pm
like elizabeth warren, she is toast. cheryl: veronica, at the end. day did they do anything wrong? no. i will come talk but give money to my foundation. he didn't say, give money to my foundation. give -- my charity. give money to my foundation. >> charity expects keynote speaker to bring in money, get more tables, get more donors. this whole idea of getting paid to do effectively perhaps, getting paid to do this is big conflict. i think the whole clinton foundation though is a bit of a black box. i think that is why we're hearing so many questions on it. people don't really understand what it is and how it works. >> also, dan, the clinton foundation, overall we're talking about $2 billion, i mean that's a lot of money. to haggle with petra nemcova, by the way, her charity does a lot of good work around the world, to haggle over 500 grand, does that tell you maybe that we need to kind of look at the character
