called this a quote, heartbreaking circumstance. the fbi is trying to determine a lone wolf, self-radicalized terrorist was somehow able to slip through the cracks. the president basically said at this point they don't know all the details and they're trying to figure out and that the fbi, maria, is taking the lead. the fbi says a 24-year-old mohammad yousef abdulazeez who lived in the chattanooga, tennessee, area first went to a military recruit be center in chattanooga yesterday and opened fire in what was described by witnesses as a drive-by type shooting. after that he drove to the navy support center seven miles away and that is were the four marines were killed. three others, a marine, a sailor and police officer are still recovering. the kuwaiti born american was not on fbi radar. they do not have anything specifically linking abdulazeez to a terrorist organization.

as you know isis recently called on attacks on u.s. military personnel. that will be at the top of the checklist for the fbi to sigh if there is any sort of link there. maria. sandra: what are they looking for specifically, blake, to figure out what kind of links would mean perhaps a connection to isis or some terrorist connection? what specifically would they look at to determine that? >> well they have reportedly already gone through where he lived and have found a blog in which he talked about islam and his views and his beliefs there. so they will certainly examine and try to figure out if they can extract anything from that. if they have gone into his home, you obviously have to think they have gone into his computers and cell phones as well. maria, just last week i believe it was the head of the fbi james comey was testifying about going dark and how in some cases some of these lone wolves and terrorists are able to go dark. whether that was the case here we won't know at least this
