u.s. embassies in tanzania and kenya which killed over 200, the nsa has captured and recorded phone calls made from a specific house in yemen. it was some 60 miles outside of the capital. the house was osama bin laden's operation center. the call came in and the tussauds diswho had hijacked american airlines flight 77 that would slam into the pentagon headed for the country club. photos were taken at the terror summit which remain classified to this day. >>r as day. i remember looking at them. >> mark racini was a cia agent. >> that meeting was surveilled because there had been a communication from the station to kuala lumpur station. these people were coming in. follow them. take their photographs. see what they're they're going, and that's what happened. we had no idea what they were doing, but we knew some of them

2002. it dove deeply before and after the attack. graham wrote the claim intelligence matters and keys to the kingdom. >> that was one of the recurring themes of 9/11 that is, the right hand not talking to the left hand. >> this is probably one of the most painful things about me or things that i regret. i could not tell the bureau about what we were talking about without getting approval from the bosses at alex station to tell the fbi because it was cia protected information only. >> after the terror summit finished, 23-year-old hosni and 24-year-old midar arrived at l.a.x. on january 2000. unlike osama bin laden, he was 14 years old on a family

a saudi spy spying on other saudis for the saudi government. he often had a camera. >> baoumi was also collecting a salary for a subsidiary of the saudi aviation company. there was this story. >> when baoumi comes up to san diego at the request of the saudi consulate in los angeles, we don't know what happened in the one-hour meeting that they had, but as soon as the meeting was over, baoumi and his driver went to a specific restaurant, ended up at a table next to the two hijackers which led to him asking if he would be interested in relocating from los angeles to san diego which they did do. >> how unusual is it that they had a meeting with two

hijackers. >> we had statisticians do a probability that four people would end up at the same place at the same time and it was in the more than 5 million to 1 category. >> 5 million to 1? >> remember the first two hijackers know nothing about getting around california and speak no english. but the ever helpful baoumi had someone in mind. he enlisted a student at the community college. kelly thornton is one of the few people who interviewed modar. >> he told me that omar is the one that asked him to do that. he was also asked to help them acclimate to the united states. hijackers didn't speak so well. he was asked to help them get driver's license, social

security numbers, that kind of thing. >> though they walked into the country legally his 1998 entry from the u.s. to canada was anything but legal. >> he presented a yemeni passport as proof of citizen sp. shortly after receiving his u.s. visa he travels to san diego. within a week of his arrival he's filing for assistance. he said he came in through new york utilizing a fraudulent passport. franco de paolo. >> frank the chicken. pat brandy had been a flight instructor for 26 years. >> why do you believe that plane is the plane that they flew? >> these are the only tests that we were doing at the time. that would be the bird right there. >> what would it be like to know that you had found in the same

plane as the hijackers did nchs at first it was an eerie feeling. they moved to the parkwide apartments and baoumi signed the lease. buried on page 517 in a footnote is a reference to four phone calls on february 4th 2000, between omar and a local imam. anwaral alaki. >> intell wires john burger and author of guy had joe had filed several papers in the past. >> he had been involved with suspicious charities. they decided he wasn't worth investigating anymore so they dropped. >> what was the relationship like between him and the two hijackers in san diego? >> the assumption was that it was a close relationships and alaki may have been one of the

few people that hosni shared with what they were there for and get the plot to you. >> and low and behold there was a time period i was analyzing phone numbers. >> in an exclusive interview with fox news, jim bush explained how he discovered the links in the phone numbers. >> there was a phone call to miami's phone and listed and says al baoumi says i a took them and put them in storage. it's always speculation that there was contact at that time. >> who was at a welcoming party that omar at ally bank no branches

wanted to go in there. he said, i didn't feel he was a religious man because of that argument. then he went into the prayer area. it was after the prayers were over and he turned around and the two hijackers were standing there. >> we thought that was very, very strange that they picked him to assist getting an apartment with how strange it was there. >> how many times did you see them? >> he would bring him to the house. i see them as very nice. >> we asked him if he was a religious man. he said he didn't pray. jihazi says he's not there. >> how did you come?

>> everybody have something for them. >> he just didn't go down there and meet these people by accident. they had to have a network. >> he and bush believe malaki asked them to help. the 9/11 commission shared that suspicion and there is this connection between alaki and the 9/11 cell. >> there was a search of the apartment in germany. the people found the fax number for the virginia mosque where he was looking. >> there's another threat that ties malaki to 9/11. >> the hijackers moved quite a bit. they moved frequently. >> this is the apartment that rababa found for the hijackers. shay az da asked him for other help. >> the saudis are back and they're looking for you. they want you to take them

sightseeing. >> in may 2001 they were back with other hijackers. it was a road trip to hell. they ended up staying two nights in deerfield, connecticut, and this motel. 75 phone calls were made to locate flight schools and car policies. >> they argued over money. they wanted to move on. i guess it didn't pan out for them up in connecticut so alaba suggested he would take them to patterson. >> they wound upsetling here for about three months up on union avenue. >> investigators place him in patterson less than two months before 9/11. >> this is where they were put together at the library.

lightering around the school. >> is this lunch shocking to you? >> it may have been where the department of defense was unaware of what the department of justice knew. >> three months later he was charged with passport fraud. he rushed in october 2012. despite the outstanding warrant, he was released from federaljmcqy custody on theo orders of an fbi agent. >> we learned that, october 2002 decision to release an ward alaki. >> i can look into the matter. >> after this hearing corn man was told they considered the matter closed. one week after the fox news investigation was broadcast the chairman sent this letter to

attorney general eric holder. congress opened up an official investigation into the planning and execution of the september 11th attacks on the united states. in july both representatives king and frank have introduced legislation to reconstitute the 9/11 commission. since 2011 he can talk about what's going on and the failed attack on times square. what happened to those who facilitated the 19 hijackers. one left to england shortly before the attack. he was detained by scotland yard by the fbi. >> they had no alternative to release him and he shortly after that returned to saudi arabia. >> modar tried to protect somebody. >> he tried to protect his immigration status.

>> he deported in may of 2004. he was eventually charged with document fraud in jum of 2003. his roommate is still trying to get here. >> he now has a social security number and he's free to move about this country withhich is shameful. >> he was to be deported. he went into immigration court and somehow the town played his involvement with the jumpers. >> authorities are still trying to deport him and there is this secret. >> there were 27 pages in the joint inquiry that were redaktsed. >> well, i can't tell you much because it stayed secret but it related primarily to the saudi role in the united states in the months leading up to 9/11. >> would i be correct to assume that the pages dealt with the money trail? >> that was part of it. a major part of it. >> a significant -- a major part
