11:01 pm
also talking with mike leigh. also tonight new developments on the 2016 presidential campaign trail come including the rarest of political creatures and a populist. and that includes a few political advantages and new polls confirm that he is also leading in most of those recent polls. so when will the republican establishment began to acknowledge donald trump as the 2016 frontrunner? conservative commentator ann coulter and political analysts ed rollins among our guests. and turkey is complicating an already complicated middle east. unexpectedly launching raids against the kurds when the expectation had been that they would be fighting the islamic state. not only against the islamic state that against the kurds who
11:02 pm
just happen to be the most effective fighters against the islamic states. is the administration's view of relationships in the middle east becoming far too complicated and is there a plan for the united states to actually try to defeat the islamic state? general jack keane joins us tonight and so president obama singled out republican contender governor mike huckabee who said that the president's nuclear deal with iran would take the israelis and march them to the door of the oven and a number of groups criticize his language is inappropriate, but the government didn't back down a bit, standing by his criticism of the obama deal. white house correspondent kevin

couric is traveling with president obama and has our report. >> when he turned his attention to the situation, the political fallout could be felt have a world away. >> with particular comments to mr. huckabee, i think that part of just a general pattern that we have seen would be considered ridiculous if it weren't so sad. reporter: the comments were made by former arkansas governor mike huckabee who said this about the six party iranian nuclear dear. >> he so naïve that he would take the israelis and basically march them to the door of the oven.
11:04 pm
>> with the 2016 primaries as they become increasingly common wading into political waters. thousands of miles away from home was certainly unexpected. governor huckabee fired back at the president on fox news. >> the last time that the world did not take seriously threats that someone was going to kill massive amounts of jews we ended up seeing 6 million jews murdered. >> with more than a dozen gop candidates vying for the white house, harsh criticism of the president is often seen as a way to score political points and separate from the past. >> we are creating a culture that is not conducive to the policy or politics and the american people deserve better. reporter: deadly conflict remains an all too real way of life in east africa, a fight that the president vows to take
11:05 pm
action on. >> it does not require a boots on the ground. that is the model that we are talking about. reporter: also today the president was busy talking to the leaders of ethiopia kenya, sudan, and uganda. they were getting together to try to figure out a way to forge some sort of a peace deal in south sudan. as you probably know they have had a war there for about 19 months and they are trying to get it done ahead of an ultimatum that is scheduled to happen sometime in august. tomorrow i should also point out that the president will make history once again as he becomes the first sitting president to address the african union. lou: those discretions with the east african nations are of critical importance because they are in fact worsening. reporting was kevin couric. thank you. immigration policies led to the

influx of tens of thousands of illegal immigrants last summer. a judge ruled they were part of this influx should now be released because they have been dictating what the judge called deplorable conditions, the obama administration saying that it will respond to the court's ruling by a deadline that is set for next monday. but it's certainly unclear whether immigration and customs enforcement will appeal the ruling or exactly what they would do with a large number of illegal immigrant children and parents across the southern border in the influx and that influx continues unabated. a miami-based artist sent us this video shot on miami beach during a fashion shoot earlier this month at least nine illegal immigrants and then they ran onto the beach the coast guard said that it captured more

11:08 pm
the federal government is trying to show that it is becoming a lot more aggressive going after carmakers for defects in its safety agency has come under fire for failing to properly handle highly publicized safety recalls that have affected tens of millions of cars and trucks over the past two years. we are coming right back. president obama trying to push his deal on capitol hill. will congress be able to stop them? senator mike leigh joins us next. and of course you can expect great stunts in butte montana. and this was a beauty. you get it?

11:18 pm
representing that there wouldn't be an export import bank vote. as we wrap up here how important is you to have that vote and will you get it? >> what i want to see is the simple majority vote on a clean obamacare repeal. i think that it's important for us to do that. and i think that we ought to vote on it again and this time choose to recognize that it is germane to the underlying vehicle before the senate and we ought to vote on it on the special because of the fact that it is germane. >> the leadership seems to be insisting on denying you all a simple majority vote and the latest we have here is the majority leader in the house kevin mccarthy that may not be
