tv   Cashin In  FOX Business  August 2, 2015 7:30am-8:01am EDT

7:30 am
>> that's it for forbes on fox. you have been terrific. thank you for watching. keep it here. we continue with eric and "cashin' in." thanks for joining us. ahead of the big debate the big interview. i'm eric and this is "cashin' in." no matter what you think of donald trump, polls show he's the nominee if it is today. i think the gop establishment is afraid of donald trump and i ask him why. >> i don't understand it. i say what i say, which is something that makes america great. basically, what i want to do eric is make our country great again. we are going in the wrong direction. it's not turned around easily. we are really far down. almost i don't want to say it disrespectfully, but we are in big trouble. i'm doing the right thing.
7:31 am
i'm saying the right things in terms of the country, but the level of animosity and the level of hatred. the level of support is beyond incredible including some of the pundits in all fairness. it's a mixed bag. i'm out there. the poll numbers have been fantastic. i am happy with it. hopefully, i'll get a chance to make our country great. >> i have said i like what donald trump is doing. a lot of my fans support you. they like you because you say what you mean and mean what you say. i get beat up even if some people in my own tent at times for defending some of the things you are saying. you called yourself thin skinned at times. how do you handle the attacks? >> you have to handle it. things are said that are totally false. i was saying they will put
7:32 am
people on television that i never met, never saw and never spoke to and they are the on donald trump. they know nothing about me. they are wrong. you have no choice. i have never had a anything like this. this political press, so much of it is dishonest. now, with that being said 40% is terrific and honorable. >> do you get a fair shake from the press? >> i get a fair shake from 40% to 50%. some of it is dishonest and knowingly dishonest, which is too bad. >> debate is five days away. i read one of the candidates said donald trump is bringing a lawn mower to it and there's one bush on stage. >> i think he's a nice person. i don't know him, but i think he's a nice person. we need a lot of energy and smarts. we need a lot of street smarts.
7:33 am
if you look at what china is doing, what japan is doing, what saudi arabia is doing, they are making a billion dollars a day and we are protecting them. we get nuting from it. i have many friends from saudi arabia they are buying my apartments. we protect them and they are making a billion dollars a day. we protect them. we get nothing. look at mexico i love mexico. their leaders are cunning, sharp, our leaders are not smart. something has to change in our country. >> stay on mexico for a second. immigration, mexico the wall of mexico put you on the map big time. you said mexico you are going to build a law. builder, you know how to build things. but you said mexico is going to pay for it. how are they going to pay for it? >> they are making a fortune. ford moves a plant to mexico. $2.5 billion for a plant. i know about construction.
7:34 am
how do you spend that? it's a massive plant. it's outside the united states. a plant was going to be built in tennessee. a big plant from a foreign auto company. it's going to mexico. >> they will send us their cars. >> they will send us cars. they are not going to pay tax. we are going to flood the country with cars. where do we benefit in. >> where does the money come from? >> i have great respect for mexico. the leaders are too smart. they are killing us at the border. they are killing us. mexico in a certain way is the new china. if you look at what's happening, they are becoming a car capital of the world. we need people that can deal with this eric. we have people that don't know anything about business. they don't know about trade. they get in there because they are politically connected. these are the people we have. these are the people we have negotiating. one of the big things one of the reasons i'm doing well in the polls, nobody tells me what
7:35 am
to do. i don't have the donors and lobbiests tell me what to do. i don't need their money. when jeb is out, i know all the guys giving money. they don't give money unless they are getting something for it. >> is that why the establishment class is worried because you don't need their money? >> it could be a part. i don't need money. i want to do what is right for the country. i don't need to be doing this. i feel that i want to do snag is going to be great for the country. we can make the country so great. you know what? if it keeps going along the way it's going right now you are never going to be able to turn it around. >> finishing up the mexican walls. if mexico built a car in mexico is there a fee attached for us to put it toward the border? >> it doesn't have to be that. they are making fortune in every way, not just cars. plus we pay mexico a lot of money. we are going to have to have a
7:36 am
wall and it won't be a complete wall. there are some areas you don't need a wall because it works. you have fences in certain areas and you'll also have i tell you what we have incredible people that i met in laredo. border patrol people. they want to do their job. they asked me to go. i went and i met them. they are fantastic people. they are told not to do their job. people are walking into our country in front of them. we are going to build a wall and a fence and we are going to have great protection. very interesting, they bring drugs into the country from all over. they bring drugs in and take the money out. the people in laredo were telling us this. massive amounts of drug gos in and massive amounts of money go out. we get a double hit. we get the drugs, they get the money. i don't know somehow that
7:37 am
doesn't sound like a good deal. >> let's role play. >> go ahead. the debate is five days from now. instead of on stage,er asking the questions. one question for each. what do you ask jeb bush? >> well you need energy. do you have the energy to get out there and do it? you need a lot of energy. the question would be i think he's a nice person but does he have the energy to do it? >> energy? that's the one question you are going to ask him? >> that's a very important question. jeb hit my on tone t-o-n-e. hillary clinton hit me on tone. >> he did an interview and took a shot at you. >> jeb is very very strong on common core. he likes it. i don't. people of iowa and new hampshire, they want to take care of their kids. they don't want somebody in washington doing it. it's his opinion, but i want it
7:38 am
local. he wants it coming out of bureaucrats in washington. he's weak on immigration. he's very very weak. it's going to be a border like we have now, which takes away jobs and has tremendous security problems which we found out from san francisco. i think, you know frankly, i think jeb has to change stances and change the common core. i think he has to get tough on immigration. >> marco rubio. >> i don't know him. he seems like a nice person i mean i don't know him. i would say he was very much in favor of weak -- i would call it a weak immigration policy. he was in favor of amnesty. he wanted to do something. he went down in the polls, then all of a sudden changed. that's not the reason you should be changing. >> scott walker? >> his state, wisconsin, has tremendous problems with debt
7:39 am
loaded up to the gills. he's pouring debt there. as you know they wanted to see if they could have a surplus. it turns out to be a $2.2 billion deficit. another thing in wisconsin, he came up and gave me a plaque a beautiful plaque thanking me for everything i do. they have another problem in wisconsin. a tremendous divisiveness. a hay tret among everybody. you have a big deficit. it's wonderful to fight the indians, but in the meantime they are doing bad economically. they are 36 or 38 in terms of a state. they are doing poor jobs wise and they have a huge deficit. i think it's a much different scott than people thought. >> okay. last one, some say you are out chris christieing.
7:40 am
>> he is my friend. many of them i respect. new jersey is not doing well. it's simple it's not doing well. maybe he will get it turned around. they asked how he would be at president. i would be a great president. i would be a great jobs president and a great security president. let me tell you, i will take care of our vets. our vets are treated horribly like third class citizens. they will be treated right with donald trump. when i look and see so many veteran that is are great people and they come to me these terrific people and tears coming down their eyes they have never been treated worse than they are being treated now. that will change. >> in the aftermath of the mccain comment, a lot of people were saying the trump campaign is over now.
7:41 am
>> then you expand your league in many polls. >> he's a politician like many politicians, all talk no action. when i was in phoenix, we had tremendous -- thousands and thousands of people there. he called them crazy. he said it was terrible then it was a term of endeerment. they are great. all they wanted was security at the border. that's all. they didn't want the illegals pouring in. they didn't want the illegals pouring in. that wasn't good. i will say this. the vets are special and we have to take care of them. >> now, it's your turn. the donald answers your questions. find out what technology empowers us to achieve more. it pushes us to go further. special olympics has almost five million athletes in 170 countries. the microsoft cloud allows us to immediately be able to access information, wherever we are. information for an athlete's medical care, or information
7:42 am
to track their personal best. with microsoft cloud we save millions of man hours, and that's time that we can invest in our athletes and changing the world.
7:43 am
when the twins were about 10 days old the doctors told us they were going to need blood transfusions. we're so proud of who they've become. as a result of one person, deciding to spend an hour of their life giving blood is just immeasurable how powerful that one donation could possibly be.
7:44 am
...and the crowd goes wild! now it's your turn. we asked you what you would ask donald trump. we got over 5,000 questions in the first hour. what signature piece of legislation would you like to initiate if you were president. here is what the donald said. >> i would love to do a great health care plan. a plan that is affordable. we have to repeal and replace obamacare. it's a disaster. people can't afford it. it's a catastrophe. nobody knows how bad it is right now. obama is going to be at one of my golf courses playing golf. nobody knows how bad it is. the real effect is going to be
7:45 am
in another year and a half to two years from now. i would say health care. there's so many other things veterans stuff we have to do. the military we have to rebuild our military make it strong. i want to have our military so strong that nobody is going to mess with us. everybody says i will be the best economically for the country from the economic standpoint. i think i will be the best from the standpoint of the military. i think it will be equal. we have to rebuild our military and make ourselves strong again. we have never been in a time we have such danger as we do now. >> on facebook mr. trump, who would you pick for vp. who is your number two in. >> i don't want to get into that game yet. there are a lot of terrific people. honestly there are certain people -- >> of the other nine people on the debate stage, if they said you had to pick one of those as your v.p. which would it be?
7:46 am
>> i don't want to get into that. it's too early. i don't want to insult anybody and i don't want to build anybody up. there are some people that i have great respect for on that stage and some people that aren't on that stage, they are on a different stage that i have respect for. there are other people in the country i have respect for. >> we do a thing calls wake up america. it's a hashtag on twitter. we had 580,000 tweets the last 30 days. it's a new hashtag for political debate. wake up america finish this sentence if you were donald trump saying wake up america, what would you say? >> we have to build our military stronger. we are very vulnerable. when putin is going out and talking nuclear all of a sudden which he never did before his
7:47 am
hatred of obama is strong. we have to build our military so strong and so good and so powerful that nobody is going to play with us. >> a lot of people say donald trump is too tough. he lacks compassion. he lacks empathy. is that true? and, does the commander in chief need to be emp thetic? >> i think it's the opposite. i really think i have a big heart. i want to take care of people even on the health care. i want to take care of people that a lot of people aren't talking about. if i lose votes, i don't care. a lot of conservative people. i'm pretty conservative. they are not remembering these people that are not doing so well. i want to take care of people. i think i have a much bigger heart than people understand. at the same time i love our country. i hate to see what's going on. we need a stronger tone. when jeb and hillary said i don't like his tone we need a stronger tone. we need enthusiasm. we need strength. we need a stronger tone.
7:48 am
>> are you looking forward to the debate? >> i'm looking forward to it. i have never done it before. i'm not a debater. i build great businesses i built an incredible business. i am not a debater. maybe i'll be god, maybe i'll be terrible. there's a silent majority out there tired of incompetent politics with all talk no action. that's all they do is debate. they are always debateing, but nothing gets done. i look forward to it. i have never done it before. i hope i do okay. i may or may not. i'm not sure it's that important. we are bringing message that is really really -- my whole thing is make america great again. >> wake up america. >> thank you very much. >> don't go away you will hear more from donald trump when we come back.
7:49 am

7:52 am
welcome back to this special edition of "cashin in." you heard donald trump say he's not beholden to anyone. is that what the country needs, michelle? >> i do. i think so. i know democrats keep saying that all hispanics hate donald trump, but i actually like donald trump. i like that he's not a career politician who is trying to climb the political ladder. he's not trying to get money from big donors he's not going and kissing up to all of the rich people asking them for money. i like that. and he's talking about issues like immigration, which is what americans care about. but the gop class does not want to talk about. the establishment does not want to talk about that issue. he's making that an issue and forcing other candidates to talk about something they don't want to. >> and let's stay on money for a second.
7:53 am
right now, a lot of candidates are in california being wined and dined by some big money donors and maybe that's part of the problem with the process. >> well the process has always had that and it's always going to have that. money is going to talk. money is what they have to spend for ads. they have to spend that for when they go on the road. they have to do all that. and he's fortunate that he doesn't have to in the sense he's got his own money. and he can -- he can talk the way he wants to. he talks about. i don't think he talks about issues as much as a question. he's a child of television. it's a style over substance issue. and he's terrific at it. there's no doubt about it. and he doesn't need anybody else's money. he doesn't have to go and pander to that group. >> and john, that's an important point. there are a lot of lobbyists who have a lot of cash to spend for their causes. would that be a good thing if donald trump doesn't have to listen to lobbyists? >> well eric he says he doesn't have to you know be
7:54 am
obligated to people who give him money. i just wish i believed it. he's been so philosophically and practically inconsistent on so many issues. and i think if he was against, really a patronage or in politics he would come out in favor of a free market, truly. donald trump has talked about trade tariffs, on both sides of many many issues. i'd like to believe he wouldn't be beholden to special interests, but his inconsistencies make me wonder. >> he seems to be tapping into a nerve of the american public. if not the american public certainly the gop voting public. >> well look, american -- the american people are sick and tired of these politicians always just going around, regerj regurgitating their talking points. and he may not be that eloquent but he's talking about the issues we care about. americans right now are unhappy with the job crisis in america. they're unhappy with unemployment. they're unhappy with all of the violence in our towns that are bordering mexico. and he's talking about that.
7:55 am
and that's why so many americans are so excited and really round up for donald trump. >> so let me take it to. let's go with jonathan here. politicians know how to spend our money. now comes along a businessman who knows how to make money. it's a little bit different. business is not as usual in d.c. if there were a trump presidency. >> well but eric there's a difference between being a good businessman or a good leader in general. donald trump, for example, you talked about business. but in the past he's advocated for a massive wealth redistribution. i'd like to believe he was the free market capitalist who wanted a free market in health care. but he's talked about not just getting rid of obamacare, but replacing it. i agree with you. we need a free market guy in the white house. someone who believes in america. i just don't think trump's policies have shown that. >> i've got 20 seconds. are there any free marketeers running for the nomination? >> i think almost all of them. he may be the exception.
7:56 am
but jonathan's right, he's been on all sides of all subjects so many times. >> very good. we'll have to leave it there. great panel, everybody. by the way, congratulations michelle, top 50 of the hill hottest people in d.c. congratulations. >> thank you. >> head over to foxnews.com/cashinin to see this week's stock picks. check out the crowd as we added our in-depth interview with the man that will be at the gop presidential debate. look at that over there. and now, you can head over to my facebook and twitter pages where i'm posting behind the scenes video and pictures from the trump interview. have a great weekend, america.
