fatal shooting at tennessee state university. one dead and two wounded after dispute over dice game with two unenrolled males maybe were gambling in outdoor courtyard. the student is not -- the victim is not a student at the school. police blocking entrance to the university and requiring all nonstudents to leave the campus. >> well we had a global rally in stocks. fueled by signs of more economic stimulus coming to europe. let's get you caught up on global market action overnight. first to asia, all four indices in asia all gaining. particularly nikkei in japan up more than 2%. so a strong performance for the japanese market this friday. nicole: let's look at europe. much of the same is being at thatting on yesterday's gains. in fact the dax is up 3% in two days. we're seeing ftse now up about half a percent and cac up 1.3%.

>> after the dow powered over 320 points yesterday, u.s. stock market futures looking like this. as you can see the dow well above seventeen thousand, up 21 points in the premarket. and s&p pointing higher by two points. nasdaq higher by 18 in premarket trading. nicole: a look at oil and gold here. oil is hovering around the $45 mark. gold is 1173 a troy ounce right now. >> look at how dollar trading against key currencies. u.k. pound is stronger. canadian dollar, peso, yen, kind after mixed picture there for you this morning. nicole: safety of 10-year treasury bond, 2.04%. let's look at the tech sector. that should give the market as big boost again today. amazon and google are poised to open in record territory. microsoft's first quarter results beat analyst estimates and shares topped $50 for the first time since november.

microsoft was helped by cloud and enterprise businesses. google topped estimates and rose more than 10% in after the hours trading. google's parent company, alphabet, authorized a stock buyback up to $5 billion. 10% gains and likely 10% gains almost for amazon. it posted a profit of $79 million or 17 cents a share. analysts were expecting a loss of 13 cents a share. amazon made $500 million more in revenue than the company anticipated. a lot of winners, cheryl. >> hillary clinton on capitol hill for nearly 11 hours as lawmakers grilled her about the 2012 terrorist attacks in libya. >> we're going to find the truth because there is no statute of limitations on the truth. >> issues related to security were rightly handled by the security professionals in the department. i did not see them, i did not

nicole: secretary of state john kerry meeting with russian foreign minister to discuss syria today. secretary kerry hopes the meeting with sergey lavrov will result in political process and power in syria allocated by people of syria. the meeting comes on heels of the unannounced trip this week by syrian president bashar al-assad to meet with russian president vladmir putin. now russia has been stepping up military operations in syria to fight unrest. earlier this week the u.s. u.n. ambassador calling russian airstrikes, quote, an interference in syria that makes isis stronger. >> recall of potentially defective takata airbags may grow even larger. officials from the national highway traffic safety administration say the agency expanded its investigation. it will go beyond airbags situated in front of driver and front seat passenger to include side airbags. more than 19 million cars made by 12 automakers have been recalled in the united states to

for more let's go over to fox meteorologist maria molina. good morning. >> good morning, hi, nicole. we have two big weather stories to talk about basically the u.s. is one and also across mexico is the other one. i want to focus in on first heavy rain forecast across parts of texas. you can see with have large storm system bringing bringing in areas of rain as far as north as parts of minnesota and in north dakota. the big flooding story will be centered around texas. the reason for that we've been picking up heavy rain across the state. several inches have already been reported. some areas can see another foot of rain over the next couple of days. so again very significant amount of rain forecast across texas. because of that we have watches in effect, warnings because of ongoing flooding in place across areas this morning to the northeast of the city of dallas. mean while, as we head into the eastern north pacific ocean we have the strongest hurricane on record. hurricane patricia, maximum sustained winds at 200 miles an hour, with landfall forecasts
