an acquisition target as well. >> certain people have been talking about it. that would up the price. >> that's it for "forbes on we continue with "cashin' in." republicans are squandering millions of taxpayer dollars. >> we spent almost $5 million. >> we don't need to spend $4.7 million in 17 months to simply prosecute you. >> here's something you don't see every day. democrats worried about spending with hillary in the hot seat at the benghazi hearing this week, liberals rush to her defense, pointing at republicans saying they are wasting time and money. welcome to "cashin' in." our crew this week. jonathan hoenig, michelle fields and jessica. senator rand paul will join us on set. welcome, everybody. you heard democrats signing off
12:31 am
on the nearly $5 million spent investigating benghazi but you can't put a price on justice for those killed in the attack. since when are democrats so worried about spending anyway? >> it's nice to see democrats have become fiscal conservatives now. but they are wrong on this issue. the amount of money we have spent on the investigation, taxpayers spent on two golfing trips and a fund-raising trip obama took this year. i would argue that we have got a lot more in terms of knowledge and bang for our buck when it came to the investigation than we did for the golf outings. let's be honest. if it wasn't for this investigation we would have never learned that hillary clinton was using a private e-mail server. i think that, in and of itself, is worth it. >> four or five million dollars of the federal budget is $4 trillion. they talk about rounding errors. then there is a rounding error and a rounding error. you can do it four or five times
12:32 am
before you get to the $4 million number. >> the government spends $7 million a minute. we are talking about 30 seconds in federal spending to get to something -- >> that's the best analogy i have heard. 30 seconds both of conversation. >> put the money aside. i think it takes gall to bring up money. we have four americans murder ed. not killed. they were murdered on 9/11. one of whom, their mother was on tv crying about how government lied to her. one was an ambassador. this is the first u.s. ambassador killed since 1979. of course he was killed by islamist militants as well. to put a price on it, the ambassador is every american's representative. how can you put a price on getting the truth about the murders? >> i wouldn't put a price on it. i'm departing with the democrats on this one. $4.5 million is certainly, in light of what you said, $7 million a minute or whatever is a small price to pay.
12:33 am
i happen to be someone who thinks this was certainly worthy of investigation. yesterday we found out, you know, it wasn't until the end we realized we knew about hillary clinton knowing about the video not being the cause of the attack. i think it is an important revelation. overall i would say trey goudy wasn't that clear on what we had learned. he said there was good questioning. i'm sure he'll regroup today. in the coming weeks to give us more information on what they learned. if he wanted this to be nonpartisan we should have had a special council conducting this. the fact that we had a team of elected officials who are all running for re-election, everyone wants their shots. that makes it fund men entally unfair. if you don't want partisanship don't have partisans running the coed a job in the hillary
12:34 am
clinton presidency going forward. maybe they are getting ambassador jobs. >> when i was watching it democrats sounded more like hillary's attorney than. >> a lot of americans have questions about what happened. this helps in advance our knowledge of the attacks that something doesn't happen again. we learned that hillary clinton lied to the american people. we had a huchblg she was lying about the video. and she told the egyptian minister they knew it wasn't because of a film or youtube video. it was because of a terrorist attack. i think that's great. >> the great irony is when hillary clinton was in congress she was voted as the biggest pork barrel spender of them all.
12:35 am
$250 million of pork barrel spending americans had to pay. quibbling about $5 million to get the truth about murdered americans. >> the question is will we see more of this? i'm not sure. there doesn't seem to be great support for this. commentators said she won the day, she was cool, calm and collected and the republicans looked like they were on a witch hunt. i want to shout out tammy duckworth who talked about better securing the diplomatic core. tammy duckworth did an exceptional job. >> here's something important. the benghazi hearings, we found out hillary had a private server. we didn't know. now we are finding out that the cia chief was hacked by a teenager. this is all because of the
12:36 am
benghazi hearings. i think these are national security issues we need to uncover. >> absolutely. the 4.5 million argument doesn't make a lot of sense to me. >> forget the money. >> i don't think you got enough to warrant this. you have seven reviews that cleared the state department of wrongdoing on this. when you say this is on hillary clinton's should rs this isn't change opinions except to make people sympathetic toward hillary clinton. >> john? >> i wish we had less investigations and more honest politicians which would tell the truth. they would respect them more than slg to spend if it's a million or more than a million. >> final thoughts. >> i don't think there should be more hearings and testimony. i don't think hillary clinton will be more forthcoming so i
12:37 am
don't think there is a point. >> amazing, michelle. >> i don't think there will be any more information she'll tell us. we could probably investigate on our own. >> another solid week on social media. # wake up america speaks for all of us tired of washington ways. what's most frustrating thing on your mind? send us a comment or tweet at # wake up america and have your voice heard on "cashin' in." coming up, hispanic groups as the head of donald trump's "saturday night live" gig want him pulled from the show and they are threatening a boycott. is that over the top?
12:41 am
are you ready? >> live from new york it's saturday night! >> all righty then. maybe we should keep your day jobs. it's really saturday morning. latino groups and others want nbc to pull the plug on donald trump hosting kwoez saturday. the video now is when trump hosted snl in 2004. they are upset about comments on illegal immigration but this is a free market. shouldn't we allow the viewers to decide if they want to watch? >> of course. this is the typical thing liberals use to silence the opposition instead of talking about the issues and addressing them. it's not just latino groups.
12:42 am
there is a democratic congressman sending letters. that's why americans dislike congress. we send them here to do stuff and help fix the country. they are worried about who will host a tv show for a night? it's ridiculous. >> is there a difference between marco rubio who happens to be hispanic says if you don't like it, don't watch the show. that's one way to handle it. as opposed to the liberal view of let's go boycott the advertisers. >> did you feel that way when trump called for a boycott of macy's? boycotts are part -- >> i'm against boycotts. i don't care if it's trump or gutierrez. >> boycotts are about the free market. that's how you settle disagreements in a free country by using your economic power, not tariffs and taxes and fees and lawsuits and threats. i'm for boycotts. to michelle's point that's how the discussion comes. people make a big stink. i'm boycotting xyz.
12:43 am
that's part of the free market. i'm in favor of it. >> i'm going to buy a different product, right? >> i agree. at the end of the day donald trump brings tons of ratings. nbc isn't going to back off. they are probably going to allow him to host. they need the ratings. >> why do you liberals go for the boycott? >> i'm super excited for the episode. i think it will be hysterical. not as funny as when hillary did it. but think to when nbc severed ties an when he called mexicans, i think, criminals and rapists. he's come very far since then. i think it is important that the american people see as much of who could be the republican nominee as possible. i realize it's saturday night at 11:30. it won't be the same crowd seeing the 8:00 p.m. primetime interview. i'm not for a boycott. i think the latino groups are making a good point. they have been trying to meet with the creator of snl for
12:44 am
years about under representation of latinos on the program. >> oh, my gosh. >> what do you mean? latinos are funny, too. >> how can anyone be against a boycott? >> i'm latino. i'm fine with it. hire whoever is good at the job. >> take the meeting. hear what they have to say. that's how it should work. >> john, to clarify, i am against boycotts because i don't think that's the way to do it. if you don't like the way a company is doing business, buy the product of a different company. don't say, hey, everyone, don't buy their product because listen to me. you choose. >> i'm going to tell you why i'm not buying the product. people boycotted chick-fil-a over gay marriage, starbucks with the second amendment policies. that's what expressing yous in a free market is about. free. >> i agree with you. there are two different variations of voting with your

wallet. the free market i can say i won't watch nbc now. that's one way. another way is to attack the people who advertise. >> and talk about it. >> that's what donald trump is doing. >> i will tell people. >> you don't necessarily have to be destairwaying a company, advertisers for what someone else is doing. that's my opinion. marco rubio may have a similar opinion. listen. >> it's a free country. i don't agree with everything donald trump says, everything the other side says either. if you don't like it, don't watch the show. it's on at 1135 on saturday nights. there are plenty of things to watch or go to bed early. john? >> he's not watching the show. that's the point. it doesn't turn into an attack when you tell people why you are not participating in a particular programmer oh not. that's what the boycott is. trying to convince people to come to see the world your way.
12:46 am
people vote with their powers. there is nothing wrong with organizing a boycott. >> organizing, boycotts, this all sounds liberal to me. >> it's called freedom. that's a free market. >> michelle? >> i didn't like when hillary clinton was on snl. i just didn't watch it. i went out with my girlfriends. >> but you didn't tell anybody about it. you didn't tell anybody you weren't watching because that would be wrong. >> the thing is what liberals do is go online, harass advertisers. it's just the way they go about doing it. >> there has never been a right wing harassment. >> i'm not saying that. >> it's right wing harassment all day long. >> we are all about the carrot, not the stick. coming up, gop presidential hopeful senator rand paul is here in the hot seat. what he needs to do to catch trump in the polls. find out next. john golden and.
12:50 am
>> just days away. it's time for a step off. senator rand paul is hoping for a big night. he joins us on set in the hot seat. senator paul, thanks for joining us. hot seat. senator paul, thank you for joining us. thanks for being here. first question, i guess, has to be, everyone seems to have a donald trump strategy. what's your donald trump strategy. >> before the last debate we announced to everybody i thought i had been a little easy on him in the first debate, i would be
12:51 am
more aggressive. and i think he took the bait and decided to come all after me and it looked ridiculous, of course. this time we're to the stage where we're going to just ignore him. people are over him. i think it's time the slide's going to begin. as he slides on out, i think we'll have a more substantive debate over really who we would like to be commander in chief. >> maybe some of this has to do with ben carson's new polling in iowa. he's above donald trump. is there a ben carson strategy? >> i think it's moving and i think it's very mobile, these different polls. these polls are people who are undecided and they ask them which way they're leaning. this isn't who people are going to vote for. it's who are you leaning towards at this moment. at this point in 2008 -- or 2007, giuliani was ahead. herman cain was ahead. didn't win a primary. we think it's wide open. we have a great organization and
12:52 am
we're in it to win it. >> you mentioned you're going after the youth vote. how are you going to do it? second of all, president obama went after the youth vote. it worked for him. are you taking his strategy? >> i think kids, college age and high school kids that are vote are not wedded to one part or another. they want independents, they don't want the government looking at their phone records or putting their friends in jail for marijuana and they don't want the government sending them to another iraq war. i'm with them on all three of those things. and i think it's the issues as much as as it is anything else. so, we are battling it out. we're very organized on college campuses and i think we'll do very well. >> i noticed the campaign started out with that, with the, you know, the fourth amendment, the second amendment, the -- you know, maybe relooking at some of the drug laws in america. it got away from that. are you going to get back to that? >> well, we've been there the whole time. it may not appear that way from a national news perspective but
12:53 am
we've been doing this quite a while. we othered 350 college campuses. in iowa alone we organized 20 college campuses. there are some obstacles. kids sometimes profess their support and then sleep in and don't actually show up. >> to vote. >> in iowa you got to show up and stay a couple hours for the caucuses sometimes. so, we're working very hard to get the kids to show up. we're also working on independents. we think we attract independents better than any other candidate. >> on the democratic side lincoln chafee dropped out. that leaves democrats with a socialist, feel the burn bernie and someone you could call a corruptocat. >> i think there's some truth to that. i think the clintons feel they are above the law and they can do anything they want and i think there's some really important questions hillary clinton will have to answer. number one, why was bill clinton making money from enties that
12:54 am
were negotiating things you had to approve of. a uranium company was sold to the russian government. hillary clinton had to approve of it. bill clinton made $1 million giving a speech to the bank that was brokering the deal. same with an electronics manufacturer that was trying to sell stuff in iran. had to be approved by hillary clinton. and, sure enough, bill clinton got $750,000 giving a speech to that same electronics manufacturer. this is all in schweizer's book. it's good stuff but should go to the heart of the matter if she'll be a good president. >> you have a book out. a new book. tell me about it quickly. >> "presidents in the prayers" and people talk about separation of church and state but i think found rz wanted to keep government out of religion but they didn't want to keep religious people out of government. we print some of the pr proclamations in prayer and my own faith journey.

11 years to the day after the world trade center bombing, our libyan consulate was attacked. chris stevens, sean woods, glen doherty were killed. according to her own e-mails, hillary clinton told chelsea, who of our officers were killed. we know the attack in libya had nothing to do with the film. it was a planned attack. not a protest. over the next days i think hillary clinton and president obama established an elaborate scheme to hide those facts, suggesting the video was the cause of the attack after all. why? who knows. maybe because she was asked for security prior to the attack and she denied it and four americans died. maybe because president obama was in a heated fight for re-election and a terror attack would look bad. maybe both are true. hello. blaming the video seemed to solve both of their problems, but it sure didn't help the
