on the nearly $5 million spent investigating benghazi but you can't put a price on justice for those killed in the attack. since when are democrats so worried about spending anyway? >> it's nice to see democrats have become fiscal conservatives now. but they are wrong on this issue. the amount of money we have spent on the investigation, taxpayers spent on two golfing trips and a fund-raising trip obama took this year. i would argue that we have got a lot more in terms of knowledge and bang for our buck when it came to the investigation than we did for the golf outings. let's be honest. if it wasn't for this investigation we would have never learned that hillary clinton was using a private e-mail server. i think that, in and of itself, is worth it. >> four or five million dollars of the federal budget is $4 trillion. they talk about rounding errors. then there is a rounding error and a rounding error. you can do it four or five times

before you get to the $4 million number. >> the government spends $7 million a minute. we are talking about 30 seconds in federal spending to get to something -- >> that's the best analogy i have heard. 30 seconds both of conversation. >> put the money aside. i think it takes gall to bring up money. we have four americans murder ed. not killed. they were murdered on 9/11. one of whom, their mother was on tv crying about how government lied to her. one was an ambassador. this is the first u.s. ambassador killed since 1979. of course he was killed by islamist militants as well. to put a price on it, the ambassador is every american's representative. how can you put a price on getting the truth about the murders? >> i wouldn't put a price on it. i'm departing with the democrats on this one. $4.5 million is certainly, in light of what you said, $7 million a minute or whatever is a small price to pay.

i happen to be someone who thinks this was certainly worthy of investigation. yesterday we found out, you know, it wasn't until the end we realized we knew about hillary clinton knowing about the video not being the cause of the attack. i think it is an important revelation. overall i would say trey goudy wasn't that clear on what we had learned. he said there was good questioning. i'm sure he'll regroup today. in the coming weeks to give us more information on what they learned. if he wanted this to be nonpartisan we should have had a special council conducting this. the fact that we had a team of elected officials who are all running for re-election, everyone wants their shots. that makes it fund men entally unfair. if you don't want partisanship don't have partisans running the coed a job in the hillary

clinton presidency going forward. maybe they are getting ambassador jobs. >> when i was watching it democrats sounded more like hillary's attorney than. >> a lot of americans have questions about what happened. this helps in advance our knowledge of the attacks that something doesn't happen again. we learned that hillary clinton lied to the american people. we had a huchblg she was lying about the video. and she told the egyptian minister they knew it wasn't because of a film or youtube video. it was because of a terrorist attack. i think that's great. >> the great irony is when hillary clinton was in congress she was voted as the biggest pork barrel spender of them all.

we're in it to win it. >> you mentioned you're going after the youth vote. how are you going to do it? second of all, president obama went after the youth vote. it worked for him. are you taking his strategy? >> i think kids, college age and high school kids that are vote are not wedded to one part or another. they want independents, they don't want the government looking at their phone records or putting their friends in jail for marijuana and they don't want the government sending them to another iraq war. i'm with them on all three of those things. and i think it's the issues as much as as it is anything else. so, we are battling it out. we're very organized on college campuses and i think we'll do very well. >> i noticed the campaign started out with that, with the, you know, the fourth amendment, the second amendment, the -- you know, maybe relooking at some of the drug laws in america. it got away from that. are you going to get back to that? >> well, we've been there the whole time. it may not appear that way from a national news perspective but

we've been doing this quite a while. we othered 350 college campuses. in iowa alone we organized 20 college campuses. there are some obstacles. kids sometimes profess their support and then sleep in and don't actually show up. >> to vote. >> in iowa you got to show up and stay a couple hours for the caucuses sometimes. so, we're working very hard to get the kids to show up. we're also working on independents. we think we attract independents better than any other candidate. >> on the democratic side lincoln chafee dropped out. that leaves democrats with a socialist, feel the burn bernie and someone you could call a corruptocat. >> i think there's some truth to that. i think the clintons feel they are above the law and they can do anything they want and i think there's some really important questions hillary clinton will have to answer. number one, why was bill clinton making money from enties that

were negotiating things you had to approve of. a uranium company was sold to the russian government. hillary clinton had to approve of it. bill clinton made $1 million giving a speech to the bank that was brokering the deal. same with an electronics manufacturer that was trying to sell stuff in iran. had to be approved by hillary clinton. and, sure enough, bill clinton got $750,000 giving a speech to that same electronics manufacturer. this is all in schweizer's book. it's good stuff but should go to the heart of the matter if she'll be a good president. >> you have a book out. a new book. tell me about it quickly. >> "presidents in the prayers" and people talk about separation of church and state but i think found rz wanted to keep government out of religion but they didn't want to keep religious people out of government. we print some of the pr proclamations in prayer and my own faith journey.
